Is HDMI port on Motherboard useless?

I'm yet to build my first build and I'm quite confused that the HDMI port on motherboard with a processor without integrated graphics is useless?

Is there any use of that 'useless' HDMI port ?

unless you have a processor with integrated graphics, it's useless
