- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba; The Hinokami Chronicles coming west on October 15
-
The biggest thing I am hyped about is that fact that Bandai Namco didn't publish this. Sega making this move provides some healthy competition for anime IP and hopefully help the quality spike up a bit for anime games. I'll be happy if this pushes out some non arena fighter titles.
ID: h2wq1i8ID: h2wr15lI can see that, especially since Sony gutted their Japan Studio with the only team remaining being the Astro Bot team. Unfortunately it seems like Sony has gone all in on providing box office experiences for their AAA western releases. I don't think we'll ever see another title like Gravity Rush, Ape Escape, Tokyo Jungle, or Shadow of the Colossus from them again.
ID: h2x6ne6This has nothing to do with the quality of the game but everything to do with the fact that SIE has never published a game on Xbox and since the game is coming to Xbox it probably caused some problems which lead Aniplex to ask Sega if they could handle the publishing rights outside Japan.
(in case you are thinking about it MLB the Show is being published by MLB on Xbox and not SIE)

i wish cyberconnect make hunter x hunter, yuyu hakusho or rurouni kenshin game
ID: h2wjhr8Yu Yu Hakusho for real tho
ID: h2wkmmdAs much as I would love a YuYu Hakusho title, I don't think that will happen. For most of those titles they are either finished or on hiatus right? The whole point of anime and merch is to push manga sales. Like for example, Boruto isn't as much as a hit as Naruto was so we have yet to see another Naruto game since Shinobi strikers. Even that title although being titled Naruto to Boruto, it only featured like two Boruto characters at launch. It is doubtful that anything new is in development from the series unfortunately. Demon Slayer on the other hand although having finished its manga run is the hottest anime property right now coming off the most successful film run ever in Japan. The manga sold 23,797,483 copies between Nov. 23, 2020 and May 23, 2021, so it continues to be a money maker for the publisher. With how successful the series is, this game was a no brainer for Cyberconnect. The release date is around the same time season 2 of the anime is dropping which will only increase the hype for the game. It is basically guaranteed to make money despite seeming like a Ninja Storm clone.
TLDR: Demon Slayer continues to print money. Those other series, not as much.
ID: h2wndowtbf Rurouni kenshin is making a noise right now because of live action movie success, its a perfect time to make the game
ID: h2xdsmsrurouni kenshin game
Imagine an open world like GoT, holy shit, gets me harder than my last gf.
ID: h2xkwajLet's add Bleach on there. With the anime returning, it'd be perfect.

Hells yeah
-
Finally news about the western release
-
Hopefully it has cross play!

i am not that hyped to be honest it just looks like ultimate ninja storm demon slayer edition
ID: h2wj1lsYour saying that like it’s a bad thing
ID: h2wkj6wdon't get me wrong the ultimate ninja storm games were great it's just that I think that the kinda gameplay those games provide won't fit demon slayer very well i think a hack and slash gameplay style would fit better
ID: h2wkignThat's exactly what it is and that's a great thing.
ID: h2x8tahThat's literally what it is.
Every cyberconnect game is just the exact same game with minor changes and a few new characters each time.
It's literally the Fifa of shounen anime games.
ID: h2xia1mliterally the Fifa of shounen anime games.
The perfect description
ID: h2xkyptI am hyped for exactly this reason.

The fact that Sega is publishing the game outside of Japan instead of Aniplex (they don't have publishing operations outside of Japan) or PlayStation is quite surprising.
The game is produced and published in Japan by Aniplex, a Sony's subsidiary that have the rights for the anime and games adaptations.
ID: h2x3hcuIf SIE were to publish it, they'd try to keep it exclusive to PS and maybe PC. I don't think Aniplex wants to keep the game locked to a specific platform especially since they're trying to push the KnY manga sales. They'd try and put it on as many systems as they can which is the more logical decision.
-
Aftet being lied to and missed led by Jump Force. My expectation for these games is low.
ID: h2x9hlbJump force is a different developer. This is the team that makes the ninja storm games and they've all been decent to good
-
But what about in the worldwide there so many fans outside of Japanese are interested this game. (So then I)
Edit: or maybe less idk
ID: h2wrxqgRead it again it says west

love me some Kimetsu No Yaiba. Gonna re watch the entire first season and then the movie this weekend, just finished the manga this past week but that being said I really wish these anime games based off of shonen properties were not always fighting titles.
my honest pitch for a game in this franchise would be an action/adventure-RPG sort of in teh vein of the witcher. you play as tanjirou and go through the course of the manga but there are side quests where you can pick up contracts and hunt down the demons and all that stuff. i really think that would make for a great idea for the property
-
I’m so hyped! Can’t wait. I hold faith that demons WILL be playable, maybe not a launch but after defeating story mode / boss battles.
-
AWESOME
-
The Naruto storm games were the only fighting games I found bearable. I'm so excited for this.
Owning a PS5 and a Nintendo Switch is going to bankrupt me in October with all of the releases.
-
Damn gotta start saving now. Lot of big games coming out this October. Battlefield 2042, Far Cry 6 just off the top of my head.

I think that SIE wasn't willing to publish another generic arena fighter anime game since they care about their reputation as a premium publisher but still it has the potential to move a lot of units.
