FF3 and 4's remakes got their names changed on Steam to reflect their status as remakes. It seems these won't be leaving the store? Which is good, since they have content that's unique to them

Yeah removing them wouldn’t make sense. They’re very different. Putting the “Remake” in the title specifically is a very smart move.

ID: h3gysa2Makes sense, since TAY was made as a sequel to the DS version of 4, which is mostly the same than mobile and steam's. Squeenix wants to sell the pixel versions as "classics".

ID: h3gzpucThe originals? A lot actually. III had the messages system, items, bosses, etc... And that's without considering that with the graphical overhaul it's practically a completely different game. Same with IV. In fact, almost every version of IV has different content, which almost never overlaps. I do believe IV GBA has the most significant ammount of content added to it, though.

I’ve been wondering how they’re going to handle the other mobile games that folks already have. Just overwrite the graphics for 5/6 since everybody hates them? Merge the games and have an option to play “classic mode” or “psp remake” for 1/2? Keep everything separate?
ID: h3hgughThey’re separate games altogether. Current mobile/steam versions of 5&6 are being removed from stores.
ID: h3hxtbe1 and 2 look somewhere between the originals and the PSP remake versions, they're still pixel art sprites in the same sort of shape as the original, but more along the lines of SNES era or a bit better detailed.
5 and 6's previous mobile versions are being removed from Steam and seemingly being erased from existence. And nothing of value was lost.
They're all new separate games that need to be bought separately though, nothing about any freebies/discounts for those that owned previous versions.

How much do we know about the 5 and 6 remasters? Could anyone link me to concrete info?
ID: h3hx446There were some other posts on it here earlier from a stream that showed off the new version, but basically the 5/6 remasters look very close to the originals, there are some graphical and stylistic changes but essentially they retain the look and pixel art style of the originals far better than the previous ports -
