- AMD Advisor is a meme. 6900XT does not meet the min requirements for anything in my library.
-
It’s a bug it seems. Many users have reported this recently in /
and this sub.Though with a 6900XT do you really need to be looking at ‘min specs’?
ID: h3nknoyID: h3q6e96Have you considered upgrading to an Rx 7900 XTX+ from Radeon's underground lab?
ID: h3okqbvWeird I've noticed it because its been posted 3 times a day for the last 3 months
ID: h3p2kkwYa my 6800xt ASUS Tuf says the same thing. Guess we just aren't good enough 🙂
-
it is a glorified advertisement page disguised as an "advisor".
ID: h3o25zgOh, you run a 5900X? You should go for a 5950X, just to be safe.
ID: h3o6g27It's the troll answer to the most frequently asked question in this sub. will I bottleneck with a 5900X?
ID: h3ovhcrOh you're running a 9700k with 5600xt? better upgrade so your Minecraft will run smoother
I've personally just turnt it off

Processor does not meet minimum requirements either. These tools are just garbage. Like with the Windows 11 upgrade advisor fiasco. Threadripper ain't enough but it will run on a potato phone SoC lol
ID: h3o2rtwYeah windows update tool said no too. But enabling AMDs TPM thing in the bios of my mobo made me pass it. Assume threadripper could do the same?
ID: h3od2ldYes, they most likely need to enable PSP
ID: h3p25c3Reject windows, return to Linux
ID: h3pcqaeJust curious, why are you running a 5950X with an RX580?
ID: h3p3nryToo lazy to do that. Also, I'm a secret Mac user.
ID: h3pgxhsOnly using windows for games and occasional Autodesk shit. Everything else I do I do on Linux. Fuck Windows with a pineapple. And fuck Apple as well.
/Obligatory "I use Arch btw."
ID: h3o4i2wWindows being Windows, nothing strange these days
ID: h3p8z3wOh man that grinds my gears hard. My wife is still using a 1950X for her music production and has zero reason to upgrade. Yet her PC somehow can’t run Windows 11? Just silly. Not that I would upgrade her OS without ensuring 100% comparability with what she does, but the point stands.
ID: h3pacw3My expectation is that it will run anyway or will officially be supported and this is just fud, but yeah, it's annoying. I run a 2950X which is officially supported, but somehow the tool also screwed that up. I am currently running Windows 11 in VMware to try it out (I'm no longer that age when you install it on your productive metal) and it's quite okay. Give it a couple of weeks to clear up.

Don't worry, I am sure with FSR you should be able to play at 720p low.
-
Don’t you know, when your cpu and gpu are too fast, your games end up going backwards in time and makes them totally unplayable!
ID: h3o1qusNo joke, this was happening when I upgraded to the 6900 from a 5700... Rocket league went to shit for a while.
-
mate it told me to upgrade my 6900xt and 5950x. guess I need epyc
ID: h3o2bziEpyc x2
ID: h3o9zayneed my dual 7763 system
ID: h3ow678Just get a 6950xt and 6000x
ID: h3o2kooI can take that 5950x from you if you want. Definitely need the epyc
-
This is one of the feature settings that you want to disable every time.

Has this tool ever been useful? or has it always just been a way to trick users to upgrade their hardware?
Pretty upset i cant run wallpaper engine on my rig anymore. /s
ID: h3nkt85I don't think it's ever been useful or ever been affective as a way to get users to upgrade. It could have been made both, if it provided real information, but it never did anything but offer the highest end CPU and GPU even when it did have something relevant to say about which games run on what hardware.
ID: h3oaob9I have same issue. I also enjoy how when I look at the Smart Access Memory tab, it says my Ryzen 5 3600 and RX580 8GB are not AMD properties. I knew Intel would trick me one day.
ID: h3nr98oNo, it was never useful. It's just a marketing tool. No matter what game you're playing, what software you're using or what kind of performance you're getting, it'll always recommend the top of the line.
ID: h3nj6y5I personally don't believe this tool at all. It was the same back when I built my pc in mid 2017 with a ryzen 1700 and a rx580. As there were constant updates for all the gpus I went to that upgrade advisor tool and got the same message you got not be able to run certain games, etc. Still haven't upgraded until I feel I need to since I can run the games and programs it says I can't with my current setup. I feel the advisor is just to keep your system up to date as possible with the current gpu + cpu for this year, it will change for the next year and so on.
-
Worry not! I have the 5900X and 6900XT and I get similar suggestions!
-
The minimum required hardware is bullshit anyway, since they have no idea at what minimum fps you want to play at.
ID: h3od8ttI thought min requirements means hardware required to run 60fps at lowest possible settings
-
You should feel amazed that your PC is running on drivers so old bingo night is free. This attempt at a meme is itself a meme.
-
It's not a bug it's just games don't update their requirements after a while, so after a few patches all this crap goes to incompatible, or you don't meet system requirements.
-
Yeah, they seem to base requirements off an FPS measurement, and that measurement seems to be done incorrectly.
I noticed at least for Assetto Corsa Competitzione, it includes in-menu framerates when calculating average FPS.
As the in-menu framerate is limited by the game to 30fps that results in it reporting a much lower value than the framerates I achieve in the game.
I get 100fps in game (and only because I've set the limit to 100fps), but AMD advisor reports framerates of 34fps ish.
This is with a 5500XT, but I assume the logic is the same for a 6900 XT. I'll find out soon, because I was fortunate enough to finally order one.

AMD Advisor secretly works for the Star Citizen team.
-
yes amd, either please put some effort in this and maintain the official recommended hardware for each program, or just remove this ad
-
Why would anyone with a 6900xt even look at this page? I think that's the error.
-
Instead of AMD making this marketing junk they should address the countless problems people are still having with their GPUs
-
yes yes the daily advisor post
-
Yeah go buy an rtx card.
-
That's a joke
-
Same thing with my r 5 1600x
-
I had the same issue with my old RX 5600XT, all my games said than i don´t meet the minimum requirements on that tool.
Just don't pay attention to that and play your games without being worried for it

Only noticed when I was using game tuning that all my games had an X in them.
