Switch will laugh its way to 100mil+…do people really think Steam Deck will make any difference to Nintendo dominance over the handheld market?
Hardcore PC users won’t buy this to play their games at lower settings. Nintendo users won’t buy this as doesn’t have Nintendo games. This will be a niche device for those wanting to play games on the go at low medium settings and run some emulators too.

Meh. The steam box was supposed to be a big deal, too.

DLC is for the same people who rent their furniture or go to check cashing stores. People with no concept of how to keep or spend money intelligently. Physical games appreciate in value. DLC becomes worthless the instant you pay for it. End of story.
ID: h5c3x0cHere I am buying games to play and have fun. I should’ve been using them as investments this whole time?
ID: h5c6cznHere I thought some people were born to be poor, because they can't handle money responsibly. And I was right.
ID: h5c5gnjPhysical games appreciate in value.
In some very specific cases. Ain't nobody paying me a decent amount for my Platinum copy of Crash Bandicoot.

This is one of those scenarios that potentially kills all future sales of a console. Doubt they're too happy today.
ID: h5c3mg7No it won't.
Nintendo gamers are looking for anything other consoles provide.
They're specifically there for indie games, casual games, and Nintendo games.
There's literally no reason to buy a switch or the future switch II when they run out of supplies next year if your main reason is to play modern games.
ID: h5c4b6wDid I mention modern games at all? Do you really not think PC gamers aren't casual or indie gamers? Oh boy...
ID: h5c1tk5It will definitely take a chunk of the market share from the switch, but it’s not going to kill it. Sure they have some overlap in their respective markets but there will still be a market for the switch.
ID: h5c2eceIt will kill a lot of sales of the switch pro. Yes, if people don't already have a switch they'll still buy one, but I'm pretty sure the majority that will already have.
ID: h5c69hbYeeeeeah, unless Nintendo is bringing Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros, Pokemon et al to PC I'm gonna guess they'll be ok. Someone is forgetting about the market for parents / kids. Nintendo still rules that lane with an iron fist.
ID: h5c6gpxWhen the vast majority that will buy a console already bought it in quarantine, and your newest edition offers absolutely nothing that a new competor blows out of the water? Yeah, no.

Ideally this moves the scalpers off the PS5 just in time for Christmas.

I'm assuming this is for collector purposes? Not the same at all really..
