This dude watched you murder his whole group and still have the guts to do that. What a boss.

"Wow, I'm like, sooo grateful."

Bro, I work for a hospital. We got a pin for all our “hard work” during Covid.
A motherfucking pin
ID: h7hnw9xID: h7gkx69You got a pin and not a rock!?
ID: h7gl0dyNo rocks received
ID: h7hnbxgCool story. Sounds like you need a better job or something. Best of luck I believe in you. Does anybody in this comment section actually make less than $9 an hour? If so what's going on with you?
-

ID: h7glskxI shoot him in the face?
ID: h7h4vlcSHOOT ME IN THE FACE!!! IN THE FAAACE!!!

Funny how there all these companies that made record profit during the Covid year. Like my company for example. And we literally had to fight just to get the minimum 2% raise.
-
"So you're saying every 20 hrs I make an extra dollar...? Sign me the FUCK up!"
-
That's an extra $8 a month*^ you ungrateful millennial.
(*before taxes) (^ assuming full time)
ID: h7gd4hcRight? Like-Be practical! That's a whole tube of tootpaste you can buy every month! Don't you want to have healthy teeth? Aren't you GRATEFUL!?
-
This reminds of that classic Chaos Theory dialogue:
Sam Fisher after ‘robbing’ the bank: “Lambert, now that I’m holding 50 million bucks…I think we need to talk about that raise again…”
Lambert: “50c/hour and not a penny more”
Fisher: “Deal”.
Like, what can you do, huh?

Lol... my friend been working at this job for over 5 years which he started at 15 an hr and ended at 16.70 something... he gave his two weeks notice cause he is relocating and they offered him a salary increase of 7 dollars so he could stay doing the same thing, like wtf? Why didn't they give him all that throughout the yrs lol maybe he would have stayed. No wonder there's a minimun wages or companies would pay at all...
ID: h7hcpzkThat is a company realizing they're about to lose the only worker qualified and/or trained to do a job and they will have to pay someone more than his salary to come in and do it anyway.
My mom got 'laid off' a couple decades ago and due to friends and family at the same place we learned that they had since hired 3 new people to do the job they laid her off of.

My old manager at Target once gave me a 15 cent raise…and then waited for 30 seconds for my reaction. She then said, “you’re welcome.”
-
its a game where you violently shoot people to death
Ah yes, its One of the Borderlands games
ID: h7gkupaNo, it's Two of the Borderlands games. This character is not in One.
-
I had a job give me a raise on the last day of my 2 week notice one time. I guess that 25 cents was their last ditch effort to keep me.
-
How good is capitalism!?

ID: h7g0jutLol, a nickel isn't a 5% increase on $9
A nickel is a 5% increase on a dollar.
It's a 0.5% increase.
ID: h7g0hcv0.55%

You can average how much hourly wages are for a yearly salary by multiplying by 2000 (52 weeks x 40 hours/week = 2080, a good rough approximation).
0.05 cent raise is giving you $100 total extra. Find a new job.
-
Yeah, 9 bucks an hour is chump change/ shit pay. You could def make more by doing far less
ID: h7gmsi0In many parts of America, that is what is offered for the low skill labor jobs in most rural cities.
You're right in saying it isn't a lot of money, but that is the reality of what is available for the skillsets of many young adults (especially as they attend college as I did.)
OP is damn right for being frustrated, but de-legitimizing low wage workers with 'you guys are getting paid that because you just don't care to look elsewhere' is a shitty view and ultimately creates an excuse for further abuse.
Creates the 'If you don't like what I offer you, then I'll find someone else' mentality.
ID: h7hldl4I wasn't even de-legitimizing low wage works. I'm agreeing that the pay is shit. From my personal experience, I left that field of work that offers very low wages for a job where I had absolutely no experience and only a high school education. I make 60K a year now after working for 5 years from originally only making 18K @ 7.76 per hour. Don't put words in my mouth if you don't know shit about what you're talking about. Grow up, don't assume, that makes you look like a total asshole.
