I restarted Steam at like 1:02 PM EST which made it find the update sooner maybe (maybe you tried that)

i think there'd be a ton less backlash if Respawn announced "hey we're doing some server maintenance. the games will be down for a few hours, but when they're back up, a load of new content will be available." and say it ahead of time by a few days.

overwatch does this and doesn't get nearly as much backlash (albeit the wait times are a lot shorter as well)

Overwatch haven't done it when a new patch is released as far as I know. People are excited to play and they're waiting in queues to get in instead. It's happened for just about every major update in Apex for at least the last six months

Guys, EA simply does not have the budget for servers that simply do what they’re supposed to do. Give em a break, they’re a small indie company working hard to give their customers the best product possible.

I was in for like 2 seconds, but then I got an error screen I have never seen before which said there is a problem processing game logic and I got booted right out. Big oof.

I was in for a whole 10 minutes. Lots of the event stuff simply weren't loading (trying to view the event rewards, etc), which was almost funny lol.
