So i've had my ps4 for a minute now. It is a slim 1tb. I got it a few years ago (about 3ish) when the spiderman game came out.

I bought call of duty modern warefar on disc when it first came out (before warzone) and played it alot. campaign and MP.
Then came out warzone and I've been playing warzone since release with 0 issues.

I downloaded the season 2 update that just came out and now all i have is problems.
firstly warzone will not load up. It keeps throwing connection issues/transmission issues and I cant play.

I can't even access the campaign or mp with the disc.
Im wired and I get really good speeds. No other system or laptop/phone has problems with the internet. I called my ISP and my router provider and they said its all clear from their end.

Now I'm also noticing that my other games will not boot up. I tried to redownload star wars battlefront II and it has been stuck on the "preparing to download" status for about 30 minutes.
My ps4 has also become extremely sluggish taking minutes to actually go from the initial blue screen when you first boot up to selecting a user.

i feel like maybe my ps4 is "dying" but im not sure just because of how i literally had no issues before downloading the warzone season 2 update but maybe thats coincidence?

My friends PS4 slim isn’t taking new disks properly, the fan goes Into supercharged mode and spins ten times faster than it usually does but when he puts in an old disk it works perfectly, anyone know why This could happen, the problem is on the PS4 side because he bought about three games and they all had the same problem.

Error downloading

I’m trying to download for honor after a while of having not played it after I deleted it and it downloads for about 30 seconds then I get an error has occured. Afterwards there’s an x through the download bar. After clicking it again it says cannot start the application ce-30005-8. I’ve rebuilt the database already and don’t know where to go

EDIT: the game seems to be downloading in the background it’s just got an x through the download bar in the actual PS4 home

I have Rainbow Six Siege in disc but i am going to buy the digital version since it'll give me the pathfinders and year one operators (havent been playing for a while) so if i buy do i just have to run the game from the playstation without the disc or do i have to delete and install the digital version?

Wifi connection issue - My landlord upgraded the internet yet my PS4 connection got worse.

I split a house and internet with my landlord. They started working from home recently and decided to upgrade the internet from 55mb to 100mbps package.

I was thinking, awesome faster connection for when I play NHL online. Nope, it seems I get less of a connection now than I did before. And it makes playing online nearly impossible. I’m somewhat tech savvy but I don’t know much about internet connections themselves. Right now I’m testing at 10.3mbps download and 162kbps upload. When before I was 30mbps and 12mbps.

Could It be they’ve switched out the router? Giving me a weaker wifi range? Previously we had a 2G and a 5G connection where now we just have one wifi available.

I know the PS4 isn’t the best for wifi but I have my PS4 directly below the router about 15ft max through the floor above.

It seems to work for my laptop and everything else really well at the speed it should be. So it only seems to be a PS4 issue.

Any help would be appreciated so I can atleast ask for a specific setting or something and not be too annoying. Cheers.

I bought a game earlier today. Both in the store and in the library the game has to be purchased again. And i have no idea what to do.

Free PS plus games not updating.

I don’t know if I’m being stupid but I’ve checked websites and the final fantasy 7 remake was supposed to be a free game from the 2nd of March and it is currently the 7th and I think it’s still games from last month. The current games showing are Concrete Genie and something else, I’m not sure currently I’m not by my console.

Do I need to manually update something or is it just bugging out for me? Either way how can I fix it.

Hello, Before I got my ps5, I created a backup of save files of my ps4 games on a USB stick. When I plug this into my ps5 it says there isn't any useable data. I think what I have done is created a ps4 backup/restore file that will only work on a blank ps4.

The file I have has the file path: EXPORT > BACKUP > NUMBERSTRING and then two files: archive.dat (4.29gb) archive0001.dat (696mb)

Would anybody be able to help me out by taking my save data in the backup file and restore it on a ps4 and then send me the save file data?

Hi! I just got a lovely soundbar the LG SN8YG with rear speakers and wanted to play my ps4 games in 5.1 surround sound. I connected the ps4 to the soundbar and then the soundbar to the tv, to avoid delay on the sound. Something I experienced when trying to connect the ps4 to the tv directly. But now my tv does not always activate HDR on games that i know supports it. Some games it works on, some games it doesn't. When the ps4 is directly connected to the tv (LG Oled B8) it works perfectly on all games. Anyone who has any idea what the problem might be? Or how to fix it? Would be much appriciated.

I want to know how certain is Sony could be screwing people’s hard drive via software update? Several people are claiming that their HDD died after updating to 8.00/8.03

I’m asking because my hard drive died last year, and I’m sure it was before the 8.00 came out but I’m afraid about the idea of an upcoming update killing this second HDD I’ve installed.

So, earlier today, I was playing and tried to join a friend's invite, but it didn't let me, saying that I needed ps plus to join. This was weird, I never had this issue before, since my dad has ps plus on his account, and I am in the same family as him. So naturally, I checked to see if we were still in the same family, and wouldn't you know it, we weren't. On the PS4 we have 4 account: my dad's (being an adult), mine (also an adult) and two kids account, which I'll call user 1 and user 2. Somehow, me and user 2 became part of the same family, and my dad and user 1 are in a different one. What do I do?

My boyfriend and I gameshare on playstation and switch, and we've never had any problems. He bought a game on switch, and then I bought the dlc expansion, & we were both able to access it all.

However, I bought sfv champions edition w the dlc from seasons 1-4, but when my bf downloaded it from my library he doesn't have any of the dlc that should come with the champions edition. He only has the base game characters & skins.

Is there a reason for this ? I figured the champions edition would have all of the characters just built into it, but could it somehow only be redeemable per account? This is the first time we've hit an issue like this & I can't seem to figure it out, thanks in advance !! ♡

So i recently bought ps4 pro as my first console (after playing for 10 years on pc) and i have an issue (like most pc gamers) with shooters. I grabbed Control on ps+ for free and i just don't know how to play it.

Any tips for noob player? Also, i found out that there is an accessory called back buttons. Is it worth buying? Will it somehow improve my skill or at least comfort in learning how to play?

Performance issues

I got a new headset recently, Turtle Beach Stealth 600 for the PS4 and Ps5, and any time I plug in the Bluetooth to my PlayStation, my games start lagging and I start getting NAT typed, and as soon as I unplug it my performance goes up. I’ve returned and gotten a new stealth 600 and have run into the same problem, and have tried updating the headset to no avail. Was wondering if anyone had any wise words about this problem or if I’m just in the dark.

how do I log in on PS3 after turning on 2 step verification for same account on PS4?

My new white DS4 controller's L1 and R1 buttons are soft and not very clicky. I compared them to a new (possibly refurbished - it was a replacement) black controller and one that is a few years old. Even the very old controller has much firmer and clickier buttons.

The controller looks new and legit and it is recognised as a DualShock 4 Controller in my PS4 Pro devices. I wanna send it back for a replacement, but I wanna avoid another white one from this seller if it's a manufacturing issue affecting this batch or all white ones.

Does anyone have any experience with white DS4 controllers being this way, or with the L1 and R1 button being too soft and lacking a good click on a new controller of any colour?

PlayStation Store crashes my PS4 everytime I go to download.

I've tried about 3-4 times now but everytime I go to hit Purchase/Download for the free Ratchet and Clank, my PS4's video signal will drop, my controller will drop the Bluetooth connection, and the PS4 stays on. I have to hard reset it and then go do the usual safe mode stuff.

Games work fine as usual.

Anyone know what the issue could be? I have recently swapped the PSU.

On latest firmware. It's very odd. This still happens even after a reset/quick initialization.

8.03, is there still a problem on that update? I can't download games anymore because it's forcing me to update

Headset mic won’t work

I got the Behringer BB560M headset to use while gaming. The sound comes through the headphones but the mic isn’t getting any sound. The aux cord seems fine but it’s not being picked up by the PlayStation. Any ideas as to why? Thanks

First of all, Im not into gaming as much so a noob or sumth.. Ive ownd a ps4 for almost two years now and I mostly just play fifa with my friends. I now have a mini-vacation of sorts so I got into anime and games... I tried few then I found out that I like games with large cast (relatively) and stories that I can influence (IDK what those are called). But even then, not every game like that I can enjoy. I enjoyed RDR2 the most. The graphic, gameplay, story, in-game world and character progression all were top notch. So can yall suggest something like that? I played tlou but it wasn't anywhere like rdr2.. IDK why my friends were so confident I'll like it. Infact, games that are kinda inferior imo were more enjoyable to me like Unchartered series..

My PS4 disconnects from my wifi every 5 min or so. I've tried everything from moving my router, to port forwarding, to using an ethernet cable, so far nothing seems to fix the issue. I live in a small apartment, my router is literally in the next room over with just my door in between. Any suggestions?

Hey Reddit! So I'm having some troubles with my Ps4, recently it started showing a message whenever I tried to Play God of War, that the system was too hot, so I would stop playing thinking that maybe it was because I had been playing for some hours. The problem began when the message started appearing in other games very briefly after starting them (they were fairly requiring games), even tho I hadn't been playing and the system was fresh. I usually do some external clean-up of the console every 4 months or so, taking dust out the vents and the HDD and rebuild the data base every 8 months to a year, but today I decided to break the warranty seal and clean the fan and everything in there. I removed a fair amount of dust stuck in there, but as i put everything back, and plugged it in, I realized that the message still appeared. I decided to make a data base rebuild, so I did. And after all the process, started TLOU2, the message appeared and immediately went to a black screen as the PS4 beeped and shutted off. Any ideas on why that happened? And how can I solve this issue? Any suggestions will be appreciated!
