Last time I checked. 1,800 - 40% was 1,080. Not 1,250. Someone's math ain't right.

I think it's actually 40% off what the original price should be, two legendaries are 1800×2 = 3600, 40% Off is actually 2160 and the price of the bundle if you don't own any of the skins is actually 2150 which is ok because the 20 dollar coin pack gives you exactly that instead of charging the extra 10 coins.
You must own one of the skins for it to be that price. I agree it is confusing laid out that way tho.

ID: hk4bq1oYeah, I'm surprised they still basically have an Apex Coin basically costs one penny. So you can just divide by 100 and you have the basic price in dollars. It would be more confusing if $1 bought you 70 Apex coins or make it even a weirder number like 73 coins. So then the math would be a pain in your head to figure out the price.
Note though, the price is always ridiculous for a skin from where I sit.

The original price of the two items is 3600. The “40% off” is for the bundle’s price of 2150 (its not exactly 40 percent but eh) Because you own one of the items, its reduced to 1250. Its really shit advertising i know but thats how it is

Because EA is the one who sets financial guidelines and goals that respawn has to follow/achieve. If respawn doesn’t reach those goals, funding and the freedom to do things gets limited. For example, EA funds respawns marketing budget(#SponsoredbyEA — note: not respawn which shows who controls that part) m, who funds the competitive apex scene? EA as evidenced by the fact all the competitive coordinators all have in their bio that they’re part of EA Sports competitive division(not respawn). If apex didn’t achieve goals set by EA, do you think they’d keep funding the competitive scene? The advertising budget? Who is in charge of protecting respawn legally? EA(as evidenced by the fact that the lead producer tweeted that he got scared meeting the EA legal head team on short notice when they actually only wanted to say hello). Who wrote up the legal rules for competitive apex determine who can compete, who can’t, etc? EA.Those are 3 very important things that aren’t directly in respawns control. How much advertising, competitive, and legal budget do you think EA gave anthem AFTER it failed and died? 0.
To go back to my example, imagine it’s the start of a new season and respawn wants to sponsor people to play their games. They get in contact with shroud Nickmercs and pokimane and agree to very expensive prices. If apex was not hitting financial goals, do you think EA would sign off on those 3? EA got shroud and pokimane to sponsor stream in season 7 launch because respawn showed EA indisputable evidence of player growth.
Respawn can choose what their developers can afford to work on how they monetize, how they grow, etc. , but EA governs and appropriates their budget for at least the 3 of mentioned things.
Also, a respawn developer mentioned this, but bug fix patches have to undergo a 2-3 day mandatory testing period stipulated by EA. EA has quite a lot of control over a few very important features of apex from its marketing to its competitive scene which all are very important tools that bring players to the game.

I wish I had still had the screenshot, but I think it's on my old roommate's PS4. On the recap screen or whatever, it incorrectly calculated my XP boost. It was like 40% on top of 1000 XP or whatever and it came out to 1399 lol.

Its actually cause you have something from the bundle already. Had the same thing happen after i bought the skin alone. The 40% is for both the character skin and weapon skin together

Exactly. Both are the same methods. To do it this guys way: 1,800*0.4= 720 (obviously, 1800-40%)

There was a loba and rev bundle of which i owned the loba skin (back in s9) and they gave me 40% off even though i owned 50% of the bundle, and to top that it was the same deal as here, it was really like 25% off or smth.

It’s designed to be confusing on purpose to distance the player from direct value. It’s the same reason why mobile games have multiple currencies. Respawn’s marketing team seems to have come a long way since the “buy what you want for $5” stance.
