- I have been playing Tarkov in single player offline for like 2-3 years, as a combat vet it just triggered me a little too much with the realistic gun shot sounds. Started playing today and got my first Mosin sniper kill at level 4. I'm absolutely hooked. I've found to embrace the beautiful sounds.

Noice! Before this were you playing Vanilla Tarkov but simply offline, or the to not be named Tarkov Offline game?
ID: hclgradID: hcmkwkkThank you for your service.
On another note right on man!
(Ps. The sudden shots also scare the shit out of me and I can only not imagine how much worse it would be for you)
Rock on dude
ID: hcmb8muUh.. can you elaborate on this?
ID: hcmcbhuHe said not to be mentioned…
ID: hcmj3jjA pirated version of offline mode
ID: hcmjvxsI believe there is a pirated offline mode where items and progress aren’t blocked
ID: hcmld2git’s not pirated. you must own the game. it’s basically creating an offline server and letting you run a localized version of tarkov. entirely single player but there are ai “pmc’s” that roam around with good kits.
it’s my understanding (but i could be wrong) that this doesn’t break TOS bc it’s entirely offline and u aren’t editing actual game files but rather copying the game entirely locally
ive never tried it bc i like the pvp aspect of tarkov most but i peep the offline versions sub sometimes

Tip if you don’t know: you can hold left click to stay scoped and not cycle the bolt until you release it. Makes it easier to see if you hit your target.

Did tarkov help you get over the gun shot sounds being a trigger?
ID: hclk3plGun shots and explosions, I would say mostly grenades that trigger more. The game actually does help in multiple facets. I actually had to work myself back into headphones playing this game and started playing more offline raids with speakers to kind of adjust/acclimate to it. It still scares the living shit out of me, but like I said, I embrace it more now.
ID: hcllxr2I'm glad something like this could be of help. I always wondered how much the push for authentic sounds and actions would effect someone who who has triggers related to those themes and if it could be a way to help through them. That's awesome. I'm glad your able to jump into it more and more!
ID: hcm3k47I've never been in any type of combat or military force and this game still scares the shit out of me. There's some instinct to immediately panic when getting shot at or hearing a grenade. I can't even imagine how it is for you. Glad to see that you're getting into playing online, this game has gave me some of my best gaming experiences.
ID: hcm40jnPro tip someone put on this sub recently about a sound software that lets you set a maximum sound so that you can limit the ear crushing sounds of grenades blowing up right next to you but still be able to hear people slow crouch walking through 2 floors off concrete.

Thank you for your service.
I’m a former artillery guy and the sounds are very realistic. In comparison to you I enjoy the sounds arty makes and the sounds in game.
You have suffered the terrifying threat of death at any moment and I do not envy you. I hope that the game has helped you with your trauma and you continue to grow as a Tarkov player and person.
If you ever want to play with a fellow vet and experienced Tarkov player (1.5k hours) send me a private message. I’ll gladly help you out.
Good luck in your raids my friend

Wholesome

That’s awesome man. If it makes you feel any better, a decade after my last shot in anger my sphincter still turns into a hydraulic press and I still flinch when grenades pop in this game.
-
Bro, if you ever want to run with a crew I'm here for you. My brother, friends, and myself are all veterans of various branches that just talk shit on each other's game play and service branches.
-
Just off the top of my head, there have been some people that have posted how to install and set up a sound equalizer to reduce the volume of the loud bangs to hot gmdamage hearing, etc. Might be worthwhile to look into.

Normalise getting horny over virtual gun sounds
-
Very nice! Take your time and enjoy the game my man!
If you ever want someone to play with send me a message. It's my first wipe so I play real chill and slow.

Tarkov in ultrawide is something else

Mosin man! Take me by hand, lead me to the promised land!

No need to overstress yourself. Explore this tool and set it up. It's a godsend for stupid fps developers like BSG. Boosting quite sounds is optional, but cutting the louder ones is an absolute must.

I'd love to hear what you think about the game after a month or so. You seem to be one of the few that went from Off-line to Online.
You might be able to give a unique perspective of the core feelings of each and why one or the other 'feels better'.
You may run into occasional sound issues in Online Tarkov in regards to position. You'll hear a sound on left/right, but it's actually coming from above or below. So watch out for that. (You might have noticed this in Offline mode when the rain doesn't change when you enter a building sometimes)
Otherwise the sounds are top-notch!
Awesome! Go at your own pace and playing with any friends always helps me with any anxiety about the game.
I would mostly just play vanilla Tarkov in offline raids with bosses.
