Man I thought the same! Then I read up on networking and realized all multiplayer games have these issues.
Went out in the field to play airsoft thinking surely real world doesn't have these problems, but my shots still didn't register!
edit: the joke was that people cheat in airsoft and don't call their hits /whoosh

No Tarkov is a mix of hackers and cellar-goblins. Not pain.

I don't mean to give this sort of thing an excuse, but it's sort of an issue across every multiplayer FPS game, not just Tarkov. The problem is you don't really give it more than 30 seconds of thought in CoD when it happens every now and then, but it ruins your night in a game like Tarkov.

It doesn't happen in every game to this level.
Eft has historically horrible levels of netcoding. It's the worst fps game in this regard ive ever seen.

Yes we all know desync happens in a lot of other games. But tarkov's desync is pretty much PUBG 2017-2018 when bullshit hit registration like this mixed in with R6S desync which made players invisible for a split second when they peeked.

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because JohnnyTW was already dead.

Same fucking thing happened to me yesterday. Scav fucking tanked 3 Ap-20 rounds to the thorax and then turns and one taps me.

Head as well, there's a slowmo at the end of the clip. I stopped shooting because I anticipated that he just had a desync death the way scavs sometimes drop a second later.

I just had a run where i spend a couple hundred thousand on armor and ammo, and a dude literally came around a corner and i died. No gunshot, just dead.

this is whats pushing me away from this game. as others have said, one can usually choke down their death when its caused from user error. but the level of fucking desync in this game is actually atrocious. half a second to sometimes a full second of desync doesnt sound bad, until you realize just how much can happen in those fractions of a second. its complete bullshit. you dumped atleast 5 bullets into that dude, even a headshot. i died to heavy, heavy desync yesterday and im just done with this game. i had no packet loss i had the debug UI on screen. the servers are literal dogwater trash man having upwards of 500ms desync is INEXCUSABLE in a "hardcore realistic shooter".
lighthouse? couldnt care less. streets? nope. fix the fucking servers and tape the game together later. the latest optimization patch was really needed but tbh, we need a lot more.

This is my third wipe and the first time I’m not playing religiously. Game is very bland and stale right now and all of its issues are shining because of the blandness. Feels like every death is because of some weird lag shit, even when you kill people it feels laggy half the time. Something needs to change or this game certainly will not gain any new players any longer.

I haven’t annoyed tarkov in a long time. I don’t have time to get to the endgame but it’s very annoying that almost every time I get in a fight I am both out numbered and severely out geared.
About 16 months ago Tarkov felt a lot more casual friendly. Now I literally have to avoid almost every fight or only kill rats or I get completely destroyed.
