Previous megathread 1
Previous Megathread 2Dear players,
Our servers are currently overloaded, but this is not related to the Twitch Drops event we're running. On the release of Patch 0.12.12 we had more CCU and the backend was more overloaded than now.
Some issues show themselves only under heavy load (like the one we're currently experiencing) and "buying more servers" won't fix these issues. Such heavy load occurs during prime time only and it's been far heavier than one or two years ago, as the game became more complex.
We are working on identifying the nature of these issues and on how to lower the chanсe of them happening in the future. Our methods include replacing hardware, eliminating unstable nodes and adding changes to the software, for example a temporary queue system and different kinds of backend optimizations.
The queuing mechanism in the launcher has been introduced in order to prevent the backend servers from overloading and avoid game-related issues resulting from that overload. This is a temporary solution. We are working to reduce queues as soon as possible and our goal is to eliminate them completely.
Our team will continue to work during the holidays until we resolve these issues.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and support.

Servers got DDOS'd?
30 min inactivity kick
Tomorrow, January 13, at 10:00 MSK we are planning to perform a
modernization of the Escape from Tarkov backend server infrastructure.
The process will take approximately 2 hours, but may be extended if necessary.
The game will be unavailable during this time.
9:24 AM · Jan 15, 2022
"At this moment players may experience issues with accessing the game.
We are working on resolving these issues"Submissions that derail the intent of the Megathread will be removed.
This game is always down when I actually have time to play. Lol. It is not designed for Dads or working people.
Time to add "modernisation of servers" to the past 3 years of BSG bullshit list
1) Battlenonsense netcode analysis
2) We have the best servers
3) Arena will be free for all players
4) We have the best in house anti cheat software
5) Twitch drops aren't the problem
6) Modernisation of servers
The the modernization process of the Escape from Tarkov backend server infrastructure is complete.
Stuck on loading screen, anyone else?
Same, stuck at loading profile data
Yes. Stuck on loading screen. Shame, I was really excited to die on Customs again
Is anyone getting a poor connection to the OCE server? Since 10am AEST I've been getting disconnected for "Poor Server Connection." Everything on my side is stable and connecting perfectly to everything else -- just this issue with EFT.
Yeah I am, was fine until a while ago for me and now I can't even get into a raid, only have oce checked and still spawning in at 180+ ping
Yup, same ~180 ping for me. Hopefully it’s something that can be resolved easily soon. Maybe an ISP issue cause my mate jumped on into the same raid and he was fine but I got disconnected.
Yep - having same issue as well today.
never had a ping issue before, suddenly over 200+
Stuck loading profile data? anyone else?
Anyone else having issues with their scav raids? as soon as i join one i get DCed within 10 seconds, and keeps happening no matter how many times i reconnect.
Stuck on loading profile data...
same...
"Server modernization" lol. Its as bad as ever, and queue is now permanent fixture of the game, you arent allowed to play when you want to.
I was playing Thursday and Friday thinking “wow that backend fix got rid of the launcher queues and it’s back to normal!” Nope.
Love the servers!!! 1h to get in > move an item > BACKEND ERROR > 2h to get in again!
Just shut down the servers and state such until they're fully ready to launch... or am I just crazy. At least we'll be able to set our expectations.
What an absolute embarrassment at this point
server modernization bY ThE wAyYyyyY >.>
Absolutely
Aus servers busy dying all day, constant 170+ ping spikes, packet loss and disconnects every 30 seconds in raid because of server connection quality. Game is completely unplayable.
It'd be real nice if the fucking game could function for a week without shitting the bed and dying and wiping progress/fucking up raids. Shit is dumb.
Servers seem to be toast at the moment. Stuck on black screen with swirl.
Got in right away an hour or so ago today... Get flashing items in the stash and a backend error, game seems stuck loading so I close to relaunch it. End up in a 35k queue.
So sick of this.
Bro they got rid of drops, the server issues are fixed/s
Why did I have to get addicted to a half functioning game?!?!
Profile data Loading Takes ages
Opening launcher Takes ages
loading Traders and flea takes ages
with VPN its working tho...
EU Servers Germany , Telekom
I keep getting kicked for "server connection was closed due to low connection quality" my ping will be 200+ from the start of the game. I have done many troubleshots and my internet is not bad either. I would rather the game either let me play with 200 ping so I could at least get out with my items or the game not let me get in to a game with 200 ping. Has been on and off all day, have lost millions in gear.
Here we go again. Another week of grinding work, another weekend of Tarkov backend issues... Before 9am CST. LUL
After queueing I just stare at the spinning circle as it tries to load my profile.
For ten minutes.
I'm still waiting.
Last two days my game opened directly when launching so I thought queues were removed but now I have a queue again? So whats the current status Im confused?
The game has been perfectly fine the whole week until today. I actually had time to play today lol
How many times do I have to sit through this bullshit queue just for the game to crash in menu?! It’s been 2 weeks and bsg still haven’t fixed it wtf is going on
Stuck on the loading screen for 1hr smh
Hi!
This is not an exploitable bug as far as I know, its purely negative to everyone.
If you start loading into the Hideout while the servers are down or outright bad, you can get a wide variety of errors, most commonly a Gateway Timeout (504). If you get this error, you will not load into the Hideout, it will stick on the Hideout "loading" animation and never return to correctly working. You will never get prompted for logout because you are in-between interfaces (or windows, whatever the design principle is?), meaning you are taking a "spot" of an active player while on this screen.
Now, the old fix to this was simple, ALT-F4, reload. Takes 2 minutes of your life and precious play-time we all wanna conserve. Now, we have queues, especially long ones when the servers suck dick like they do now (Thanks for the 3 hours downtime a 3 days ago aswell, really "fixed" it.)
So, the actual fix to this, and I'll get technical, the Hideout error-handling is written lazily. With a 504 you cannot reach the code path that leads back to the Menu reinitialization, like with other non-critical game errors. Fix your code so that it does.
P.S.: From a developer's standpoint, I see a lot of unique, good fixes from BSG, but I see an equal amount of lazy work done too. The design principles behind the queue system are too basic to even talk about, it's a flat FIFO queue, we're in 2022, please find a way to reduce or eliminate queue times for someone who already waited it out once. (Server outages are different, I can live with sitting in a relatively short queue with everyone else after a crash or restart of the entire architecture, but sitting in queue for every client-side error someone lazily threw in there is REALLY annoying)
Shove this fucking backend error up your backend bsg
Anyone getting wild micro stutters/ lag? Not sure if its just my pc or the servers, but im pretty sure its the servers because game was smooth at the beginning of the wipe.
gonna say this once more, its so amusing how the dev team literally lies to us lmao, "were optimizing our backend servers so on so forth" then oh yay! the game works....for 3 days and were right back into 50k player queues backend errors out the ass, flashing items in the stash, and flea basically being unusable with out having to wait for 15 minutes to MAYBE get the item you paid for but probably wont get. its genuinely amusing how little the dev team cares for the game that made them millions, and they show it very well aswell lmao
The state of the current data centers and servers are unacceptable.
It’s been happening since the twitch advertising event, I have a healthy internet connection of 250 megabits in California. I have my server selection to auto USA. After queing for a map, randomly I’ll run into a server that constantly has 220+ ping and kicks me every 15 seconds in the game. This has been occurring more and more frequently so I decided to do some speed tests to various servers across the United States. Guess what it’s not my internet connection, it’s the horrible quality of the servers that BSG is using. The worst ping I achieved was across the United States in Rochester New York and my ping was only 73ms. The final straw was going into my first labs run of this wipe with over 1 mill of gear only to give it away after constant disconnects for 20+ minutes. This is a major problem especially since BSG is efffectively gatekeeping the amount of servers being access by the player base by having a que. Furthermore the fact that their coding is so lackluster that they don’t even seem to test users ping before selecting a server that they know will not be accessible by the user due to ping limits. When I’m not in a server that has over 200ping I usually don’t even get a ping notification in the upper right hand corner. BSG needs to reinvest in the project with more data centers and 120 tick servers. This is unacceptable when people are paying up to 200$ for the game and yet they refuse to simply reinvest in thier project to support the current player base all while flagrantly advertising attempting to sell more copies, and yet they wonder why thier servers are “overloaded”.
It’s beyond disappointing.
"Tomorrow, January 13, at 10:00 MSK we are planning to perform a modernization of the Escape from Tarkov backend server infrastructure. The process will take approximately 2 hours, but may be extended if necessary."
Damn guess that modernisation was an event only running for Jan 13-14th
8:00 Shoreline queue time right now: 11:25 Mountain Time with ~5 American servers and all Canadian servers.
Edit: Nope just that fucking OBNOXIOUS bug where IT PUTS YOU IN A GAME but says "Matching" despite raid timer COUNTING DOWN as you're afk in your spawn.
Anyone else having Scav raid loading issues? Stuck on "Waiting for session" Normally this only sticks around for 2 seconds but its been forever loading at that spot.
Modernisation of servers my ass, backend error still occurs. This reminds me of all the past years "patches" that supposedly fix the server issues yet they still happen everytime
Now im at 30k queue, fuck sake. CBA really, trash fucking game.
It seemed like the game was normalizing the last few days, now we're back to queues and crashes. Dafuq is going on. When will they ever get this shit sorted out. What an absolute disaster this feels like with each 'patch'.
Was waiting 30k queue and then run in an endles loading screen. Restarted game and back in queue of 30k..
The last couple of days I had no queue at all and the game run flawless.
I know I know the game is still in BETA. I just can't seem to figure out why my loading times are so long 5-7min on average to an extreme 10min. When I que up with other their games will say waiting for players and mine will still display loading loot 98% then I just get dropped in without the deploying timer displayed or a late spawn. I have cleared my cookies, cache, reinstalled Tarkov on different drives SSD & M.2.
Maybe im doing something wrong I have all my serves selected have less than 90PING. I have a CAT6 Cable from my PC directly to my network a Speed of about 700Mbps down & 20Mbps up. The game is installed on a seperate 1TB SSD. I still cannot figure out what is causing the delay, Any insight would be greatly appricated.
My system specs:
ROG Strix B550-I
Ryzen 5 5600X overclocked to a 4.7Ghz
32GB of DDR4 3600mhz
Asus GTX 3070TI
Windows 10 on a M.2
Yeah, I've put in about an hour and a half this week after work and now I have all day to play and...I can't lol.
