It seems like 90% of this subreddit is now people giving feedback on things they would like to see changed/fixed with this game. I’m reminded of a video markstorm put out about a year ago and wanted to share the TLDR.
It’s ok to put tarkov down for awhile. The audio issues, the cheaters, the desync, the glitches; aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, I can guarantee you that. It’s ok to put eft down for a wipe or two and enjoy other games. A lot of these issues tbh will never be fixed, and we can talk about BSGs business model and game balance and issues for hours, but the changes take time. So yea, just wanted to say my peice and remind people this game isn’t work a massive headache if it’s giving you that. ✌️

I skipped last wipe and it was Def a very welcome break. Feels good to be back now tho
ID: h8bosrfID: h8bvkyzKilla grind? Who does that?
I don’t even like the track suit. I’ve happily skipped that grind for 3 wipes and will happily skip it for ever. 🙂
ID: h8c38voI do not understand the Killa grind and I have a few friends that grind it hard. I've never even considered doing that quest. If wipes disappea
far rarer, maybe, but at this point you spend half the wipe obsessing over a single AI and 3/4 stores and a closet then run out to be maximally efficient for a single cosmetic. Albeit it stands out a fair bit, but with the community of Killa grinders growing so much at this rate it's not even going to be rare or coveted.ID: h8bwyt3Yeah not sure why anyone would even do that but hey play your way.
ID: h8c1l9qYep same. Made my love. This wipe so far
ID: h8c24cwLast wipe was better in my opinion, at least until now but everyone has its preferences.
ID: h8c7ijkYeah, I was just too burnt out. Last wipe would have been my 3rd in a row since starting to play EFT and I just wasn't up for starting from scratch again at the time. I played about 1600hrs those first 2 wipes so was just ready to play other things for a while 🙂
Even though not a ton has changed, coming back this time felt fresh and the grind was welcome again. Plus I went from an i7 6700k/1080ti to a 10700k/3080 during my break from EfT so was curious if my performance would be better on the newer hardware

you are reasonable you have no power here
-
People who are irrate about the game are beating their heads against the wall. Why? Because the hardest thing a person can do is accept that they cant control everything. The only thing they can control, is themselves. I quit Tarkov last wipe and I was surprised by how little I missed the game. We cant force BSG to change.
I have a question for the users trying to rebuttle OP: when was the last time a tantrum got you what you wanted? Even after you tried a diplomatic approach?
OP is right, if critical feedback doesnt yield the results you were looking for, you gotta be like the Buddha and let that shit go, homie.

How dare you have a sensible message and approach to this games issues. Take my upvote.
ID: h8bn6erHow dare you have a sensible message
Sounds more like a way to self placate his need to walk away by indirectly asking for support from online strangers to me.
ID: h8bnq21Everyone can read the same thing and interpret it in a different way.
ID: h8bwbxqDeep down issue yourself, huh?
I think he’s just sick of reading overly negative comments and constant complaints… I assure you I am too.
-
I can handle most bugs and even desync , its just blatent cheating i cant deal with. Low key cheating i probably never know about but the blatent stuff grinds my gears.
ID: h8btgedIs just frustrating.
The game buggs: well ok, game bugged, happens, lost some gear.. is ok
Found first GPU: get swarmed with 30 grenades and sprayed trough the wall by xixaxoyxi2121 .. -.- that's another human ruining a raid where the game did not bug out..

BSG sells game as a beta Some of the community thinks we shouldn't criticize the unfinished product????
It's literally our role as beta testers to provide as much actionable feedback as possible. If BSG doesn't want comprehensive feedback, remove the beta warnings and release the game and then tell us to like it or leave.
For the record: I've played three wipes and rarely complain outside of my squad. Issues I have have already been examined thoroughly by smarter people in the community. Currently taking a break as my wife and I had a kid. I'm not a madboi at the issues, but I think complaining in this subreddit and criticism of BSG are literally the point of the current state of the game.
ID: h8bujezSee other posts in the sub: my point was criticism is good, things take time to implement IF BSG is going to implement them
ID: h8buw1lGave you an upvote, my response wasn't directly to your post, more so just the people who suck BSG's dick and act like those who present concern are automatically just bad at the game.
Tarkov is far from perfect, and our job and agreement with BSG is to be as loud and clear about those issues.
-
This game has been in "development" for 4 years. Core game mechanic flaws haven't been addressed. It's a constant dumb excuse saying it's still in beta, and wait.
It's an unfortunate mindset, but a better one, is that the game won't improve, BSG won't change it's business mindset, and accept the game for its current state, or boycott it. Many people enjoy the fun, and the butt load of BS this game offers. Many games have been in beta their entire life span, it's a money grab excuse.

You're the type of person who likes to poke at a bee's nest, aren't you? 😉

Here's my problem with this:
This is an actively sold product that dangles precariously on the edge of "complete failure to function" every single day, and has for about half a decade.
Every answer to this problem that amounts to us having to change our attitude, our habits, the way we look at life, etc in order for us to work around their hardly functioning product...
Well that's just a bunch of fancy ways to excuse this game developer failing to do their job, failing to do what they're promising when they're selling a product for anywhere from $40-$150.
It's time to stop putting the responsibility for BSGs failures on the fanbase.
It's time to stop excusing multi-year-long failures on their part as "Beta," as "it's so popular of course there's hackers," etc.
The ONLY way it will ever get fixed is if people stop allowing it continue.
-
I think along those same lines we have to remember that the game we are all playing is BSG’s vision. Not our own.
ID: h8az3fjwe’re just crowdfunding nikita’s wet dream and he’s generous enough to strap us along for the ride /s
ID: h8brp56ROSSIYA 2028 COMETH
ID: h8b9ay3The majority of noise on this sub is short-sighted arguing about major intended features and about what type of gameplay one would prefer when there's already a plan for that. Instead we should focus more on the unwanted issues that arise while playing, like inproper balancing, bugs, cheat waves... or leave actual ideas/suggestions that don't just rebuild the game to one's liking
-
Walking away from 45 USD for me was easy.
Having to play more to justify spending 150 for some people must be hard lmao.
-
HEY! You told me these therapy sessions about Tarkov were private and here I find you talking about me.
Oh... just to check you are my therapist right? Right?

This is in large part due to moderation.
No image posts, no posts that don't 'add value' which are commonly and arbitrarily removed (this includes video posts, and posts that are already up voted), no memes... The list goes on.
The result is, and has been brought up before, a long list of text threads that consist of complaints. Complaints will be up voted by sympathetic redditors, whereas the feel good posts won't be up voted as much because they don't evoke the same feelings.
This subreddit continues to be overly moderated and has be demonstrably in decline (by previous evidence backed posts, which get removed due to being deemed as mod criticism, also not allowed per the mods).

I bought EFT around mid 2018, patch 10.0 or 9.0 or something. Flea wasn’t around yet and was only a rumor and I got very frustrated that I could go weeks without a certain key I needed, so progression was very slow (I was a huge noob as well though).
I put the game down for a solid half year because it quite literally wasn’t for me at that stage in development and then Labs and the flea came. Never really put Tarkov down again outside of skipping the odd wipe here and there because of life or not feeling like it.
Breaks are okay people. Don’t force yourself to play something you don’t wanna, it’s a hobby not a job.

The audio issues, the cheaters, the desync, the glitches; aren’t going anywhere anytime soon
it's been four years =/

Of course they won't if people literally say shit like this.

Every game subreddit has these "take care of ur mental health and also stop complaining it's not worth it maybe ok i love you :-)" posts that are 100% just karma whoring. This entire post is literally useless. Devs and companies seeing wide-spread complaints is what makes them go "oh shit my revenue stream" and start addressing stuff.
ID: h8bf9mnI gotta agree. while i think this sub is often hyperbolic, immature and hostile, and it could do with way less of that, many complaints and feedback are well researched and well written, AND they pretty consistently end up with results. A few off the top of my head:
price of the mosin has been adjusted and is much more sensible now
ive seen some very good posts complaining about the usability of unmodded guns. base recoil of a bunch of guns was just lowered a few days ago (personally i think this is still not in a great place but its a step in the right direction)
(this was a couple wipes ago) lack of basic gear available at LL1 vendors. some pretty significant changes were made from what i remember, especially from ragman
ID: h8bswv9Of course they won't if people literally say shit like this.
Oh since you thought OP was being too nice, I'll break it down in language you understand. Being a BSG dick rider or hater won't get anything to change either except your blood pressure. Give it a rest bucko, you aren't going MLG in Tarkov anytime soon.
Every game subreddit has these "take care of ur mental health and also stop complaining it's not worth it maybe ok i love you :-)" posts that are 100% just karma whoring.
Every gaming subreddit has people who eat, sleep and breathe the game and act like anyone who doesn't is irrelevant.
Devs and companies seeing wide-spread complaints is what makes them go "oh shit my revenue stream" and start addressing stuff.
Not this dev. The issues this sub bitches about endlessly have been around since the start, are still around and will be around no matter how angry you and a couple hundred people get on Reddit.
ID: h8besh0When did I ever say “stop complaining?” Feedback is what this game needs. But without going to far into the weeds, honestly all these issues have been complained about for ages. I personally don’t think desync, audio or a number of issues will ever be fixed and ive made my peace with that and play for my own reasons. I think you misunderstood the reason for this post and got too defensive for no reason
ID: h8bfx34Its ok to disagree with OP but your toxic approach doesn’t accomplish anything.
You seem like the type of person from wich BSG would discard your posts w/o even reading them.
Yikes…
ID: h8bcnboMan you mad maybe put the pixels down for a while

Some people have never tried to build anything complicated in their life. They don't understand the limits of time, technology, and budgets. They don't understand the constructive part of constructive criticism. God help them if they ever have to be responsible for upholding other peoples expectations.
-
The problem is there's been 3 solid years of development and none of the changes have been made successfully. So quitting the game all together seems like the only option at this point.
-
People are just fucking nerds man with nothing better to do.
Ya true Tarkov ENJOYERS love this game for all it is. You guys think Tarkov is broken NOW? HA. You have no fucking idea what we used to deal with lmao. Tarkov doesn’t need a big player base, i wish all you fuckin weekend warrior gamers would just pick another game if you enjoy bitching so much about this one lol. I can’t believe the hate this game gets. JUST MOVE ON?? Or put the game down for awhile like OP suggests... but for the love of god don’t go around trolling talking about how EFT is the worst game ever made and is broken beyond belief because honestly those of us who really like the game couldn’t fucking care less!
-
Sounds like anti bsg propaganda from bigger developers to me. Most of tarkovs gameplay issues are pretty minor and not consistent. Definitely fun to play.
ID: h8b1qsjNice try Nikita!
ID: h8ap69cwhat are you talking about. the audio, especially vertical is fucking abysmal. ask anyone who regularly plays maps like shoreline or interchange it is borderline impossible to tell whether someone is below, above, or on the same level as you in so many areas.
and desync? optimization? lighting? cheaters? I love this game but its problems are fare from minor.
ID: h8b2jfyLiterally Veritas and Jesse talking about those audio bugs for a solid and consistent 2 hours.
The craziest bug is the door key you can hear opening like 2 stories above you lol
ID: h8ao6siThe audio issues (especially vertical audio) are consistent and have been in the game sine the very beginning.
The stutters have been in the game since the beginning.
The busted A.I. has been in the game since the beginning.
Poor optimization, poor network performance, cheaters, audio issues, and bugs and glitches exist thatvare long-running and consistent. I love EFT but let's get real here.

Yeah some people are addicted and don't understand even a small break will make you like the game more. Doesn't make sense to me why people would play a game that just makes them angry and frustrated.
ID: h8ba58ldon't understand even a small break will make you like the game more.
A small break for me spiralled into a 10 month ongoing hiatus and made me actually dislike the game more and realize how broken it truly is.
ID: h8bh1wjOnce in a while I pick it up again, point out some obvious problem that still exists and the replies I get vary from "tough shit" to "get gud" to "fuck off casul" and I'm just like,
lulw sad you dumb motherfuckers are stuck playing this
Add to that the fact I've owned the game far longer than most of those people and it's like
yeah, enjoy Managed Decline: The Game
ID: h8bidkhSame here. My first true wipe was the patch when Reserve was first released. I made it as far as unlocking the epsilon container and then i called it quits soon after that because i just got so bored of the repetitive gameplay and endless grind. I just picked up the game again for the first time 3 weeks ago and now I'm level 21 and have made significant progress with the traders and hideout, but I'm basically about to abandon this game for good now.
While there have been many QOL improvements since i first started, it's still very much a shit game that i dont see getting any better anytime soon. The devs keep talking about adding all of these new complicated systems yet they cant even get the core gameplay down and this game has been "in development" for ~5 years now. I really don't see too much longevity with this game, tbh.
ID: h8bz86fWhenever I even get the slightest hint of a game frustrating me I take a break. I used to play a lot of PUBG and Apex and found that I would always play super well after a few days away from the game.

true me 2 but the killa grind is eating all my nerves again
