Hi everyone! Tactics A2 was one of the first videogames I've ever played so it holds a really special place in my heart. I love the descriptions of places in the game as well as allusions to myths and heroes from previous eras. I was wondering if there were any official resources on more background lore on the other gifted heroes or mages that are present in the world. Please let me know! (If I can't find any I'll just imagine what those stories could be like I guess).

Which ones are you talking about, in particular? I forget who it might be referencing.

Do you mean the espers? Like famfrit and stuff? I would say the best place to learn more about the A2 world would be checking out Ivalice lore.
It’s my favorite final fantasy realm!
Maybe try finding a strategy guidebook online, as weird as it sounds, they often include little tidbits and such about the world. The FF Ultimania art book (I think 3rd volume) includes FF12 and FF14, the first being based in ivalice, and the latter having a portion of it.
ID: gq66o8uThank you! This is very helpful! I am curious about the scions since I see similarities across some of the other FF games. I will absolutely look up Ivalice lore! I played FFXII on the DS and almost forgot that it also took place in Ivalice- Whoops! Though I should have guessed since Vaan and Penelo were in A2.

With FFXII remaster on Gamepass, I’ve not only started that recently but also started A2 again—I never finished it way back when I originally started it. Ivalice is a wonderful realm and I’m also curious about any official tie-ins between games (outside of random cameos like Balthier in FFT:WotL).

Just go play Final Fantasy Tactics and Ogre Tactics and thank me later.

Oh I mean people like Lezaford, Frimelda, Elpe, Ldja, Hilo and history on the actual cities/regions like the ruins of delgantua or moorabella!
