Question for this community: my boy friend is big into this game and I’d like get him a gift related to it. Any ideas?

Thank you for your time.

ID: hu2qfvl

Do you know which games he has played or which one is his favorite?

ID: hu7r4x6

As others have said, it's helpful if you can find out what game he's most into. If it's an online one, then it's probably FF14, but otherwise, there are a ton it could be. If asking a friend doesn't work... Any chance you two are living together? You could take a picture of his games and post it here, or some of the other memorabilia he has.

Random question, and for anyone on Xbox One, but upon completing the achievements in FFXIII, you unlock the exclusive gamer pictures on the X360. Since you can’t really adjust the X360 gamer pictures on the One, are we able to change with the FFXIII unlockable ones?

ID: hu94zdv

I don't think so.

4 : Anonymous2022/01/25 05:08 ID: hu4746z

Steam has a bulk preorder for the Pixel Remasters, including free wallpaper and OST bundles per game, each with three tracks each. Which specific music tracks are covered for the games thus far released?

ID: hu5zcok

FFI: Main Theme, Matoya's Cave, Battle

FFII: Battle Theme 1, The Rebel Army, Main Theme

FFIII: Battle 1, Eternal Wind, The Boundless Ocean

FFIV: The Red Wings, Main Theme of FINAL FANTASY IV, Battle 2

FFV: Main Theme of Final Fantasy V, Battle at the Big Bridge, A New World

What's your opinion on some content for FF Origins being locked away behind a Pre-order Digital only Deluxe Edition? And why do you think Deluxe Edition only comes in digital format and not in physical?

ID: hu45k8o

Pre-order bonuses pretty much always get released as DLC at some point, so I'm not concerned about it. I never pre-order games, but I'll likely purchase the content at some point down the road.

ID: hu3wbhj

As far as I can tell, the pre-order bonuses available for both the base game and deluxe edition are exactly the same, so I'm not sure what you mean.

6 : Anonymous2022/01/26 17:49 ID: hublpg8

Gonna try and finally complete FF7. Got to the 3rd disc maybe 15 years ago trying it for the first time- lost my save. Now after really liking and beating the remake I want to finish this and fill myself in.

Question is, what side content and npc interactions should I look out for?

I was just gonna just try and roll through the main sections on fast speed (and maybe health boost when needed) to get the story in. I’m sure I’ll get lost a bit but I don’t wanna spend the full time (60+hrs) doing all side content and details I’m sure it probably deserves.

ID: hulo8pp

This late response might not help you at this point, ha, but... There are probably two side quests you want to do, because they lead to two more characters for your team. Since you've played the game before, these probably aren't spoilers for you, but I'll put them in the spoiler font for others.

1) Once you leave Midgar, and you get to Junon or Gongaga, you can recruit Yuffie. She's a random encounter in the forests of the area.

2) On your first visit to Nibelheim, you can recruit Vincent. He's in the basement of the Shinra Mansion.

For both characters, I'd recommend using a guide, to avoid frustration.

What is the best 3D final fantasy with good story? Preferably action combat as I've finished ff7 remake on my PS5 a week ago and want to play another on PC this time

ID: hue786c

Oof. Kinda hard to answer that since the only other mainline FF with VIIR's combat style is XV. Sure, the story's decent, but only if you follow this guide, because important plot details are haphazardly thrown all over the various DLCs, the tie-in movie and even a novel! XII is often lauded for its story, but its combat is closer to XI, a 20-year-old MMO. XIII's selling point is its graphics, boasting gorgeous scenery that still holds up in some places. Unfortunately, you'll have to read the in-game datalogs in order to know what's even going on (and they get pretty lengthy), not to mention the combat being mostly automated, forcing the player to instead strategize by changing the party's formation on the fly, depending on the situation. XIV's plot starts off kinda weak, but really picks up starting from the Stormblood expansion. It's an MMO, however, so I don't know how much you'll like it, if at all.

What is the best version of FFV and best version of FFVI

ID: hum059v

I would recommend the Pixel Remasters for both (cautiously for VI, since it doesn't come out until next month and there's technically a nonzero chance of it being a disaster)

That said, it's hard to say that there's really a 'best' version of either, as they both suffer generally from the same set of issues.

The original SNES versions have the best technical performance, and the best version of the original soundtracks, which some people prefer. But they also have the most/worst bugs, and the worst translation (or no official translation, in the case of V). The English version of VI also censors some plot elements and enemy sprites.

The PSX versions are mostly the same as the SNES -- V is actually translated, and VI has the uncensored graphics -- but also have by far the worst performance.

The GBA versions are generally better; they have somewhat improved graphics, fewer bugs, better translations, and optional content not in the SNES/PSX versions. But they also have the technical limitations of the GBA, which is generally a less powerful system than the SNES. Worse performance (though not as bad as PSX), smaller screen size, slightly washed-out colors, and worse sound quality. The GBA version of VI also has some story censorship, though of a different variety than the SNES version.

The original PC/iOS ports are largely the same as the GBA in terms of pros and cons, except with radically different graphic styles that a lot of people don't like (some people do, though, so that's subjective). Credit where it's due, the minecart escape sequence after the Magitek Factory in VI looks way better in this version than any others. Some people also find the controls to be clunky due to being developed primarily for mobile, then ported to PC.

The Pixel Remasters are redeveloped from the ground up using a different engine. The performance is generally good, although some people have had issues, and there are fewe

severe bugs than in the SNES/PSX versions, but a few things still slipped through the cracks. They have new graphics (again), that are more faithful to the original while being higher quality. They have new, orchestral soundtracks. They don't have the bonus content from the GBA/iOS versions. They're also by far the easiest to get ahold of without piracy.

The other option is to play a ROM of the SNES versions with a fanmade patch. There are a few options for fixing most of the bugs and improving the translations. I personally lean in favor of the ones that just use the GBA translations.

Has anyone seen anything about an actual release date for VI Pixel Remaster beyond "Feb 22"?

ID: hu5zgdk

No, and based on the previous Pixel Remasters, I wouldn't expect a date to be revealed until a few days before the release.

10 : Anonymous2022/01/25 07:31 ID: hu4kwak

Question on the pixel remasters for mobile, are they locked in to portrait or landscape mode?

ID: hu6cyg9

Pretty sure they're locked to landscape.

11 : Anonymous2022/01/25 17:50 ID: hu6hue2

Does anyone know who did the disc tray inlay art for feel / Go dream Yuna & Tidus and the art on the disc for Music from Final Fantasy X japanese preorder promo the art style looks similar so might be the same person

12 : Anonymous2022/01/27 01:30 ID: hudng44

Should I get FF VIII or FF VIII Remastered for steam? I wanted to install mods for the most HD/crash free experience possible

ID: hudqcqg

To my (admittedly second-hand) knowledge, the original has better mod support.

ID: hue8u7y

the regular version has much more comprehensive mod support

13 : Anonymous2022/01/27 05:56 ID: hueluwv

in ffX can i skip the purple orbs to level up, or should i wait until i find one so i can move on

ID: hugm10p

the purple spheres aren't necessary to level up but will give you a fixed stat increase depending on the sphere.

Which game has your favourite rendition of Shiva?Although I wanna see more artwork I think mines ffxvi

15 : Anonymous2022/01/27 16:55 ID: hugjz53

Just beat FFX and X-2 (amazing games btw) as my first ff. Wondering what would be the next game to play, only have a switch btw.

ID: huglt2b

I'd suggest 7 or 9, but given that X is the best place to start you can really play anything that catches your interest. Look at some screenshots and/or back of the box story synopsis' and figure out which one suits your tastes. Personally 7's more techno-futurist aesthetic really resonates with me but you should pick whats right for you.

16 : Anonymous2022/01/27 21:06 ID: huhpri7

i have a second question

how do i change the font to a custom font in the pixel remasters ?( i want to add a font that is not already in the game files )

ID: huhszf8

The Pixel Remasters don't use traditional font files, so if you have a specific font you want to use, it wouldn't be as simple as a file replacement. It would probably be something like creating an image file with all of the letters arranged in a specific way, converting it into a unity texture atlas, and packing it into a bundle. I don't know the specifics.

However, if you just want a different font, there are several premade font mods (and other mods) here, that work for all of the Pixel Remasters, and are as simple as downloading and replacing two files.

Download the one you want to try, and put font_en.bundle and font_ja.bundle in "[game root folder]/FINAL FANTASY #_Data/StreamingAssets", replacing the existing files.

based on the gameplay overview, it seems the rest of the character are reserved for multiplayer, and they all play the same for that reason.

18 : Anonymous2022/01/28 17:27 ID: hulvmw8

I have a FF3 question.

For later game, just how badly would I be screwed if I DIDN’T use the Ninja job? This is kinda for flavo

party reasons, as silly as that sounds, but the character I had in mind, just... Ninja wouldn’t fit him like at all. And I’m wondering if I could still play reasonably well with a different ‘tank’ type job

ID: humpnv1

You'll be fine. Ninja is OP, but pretty much any job is viable, especially if you're playing the 3D remake or Pixel Remaster. For the NES version, you should still be fine, you just might need to grind a little bit for that final dungeon.

19 : Anonymous2022/01/28 17:52 ID: hulzmpz

I'm playing ff8, defeated ifrit, I'm back at the Garden and don't know what to do. The teacher said to go to a class but it isn't marked anywhere so I'm just wandering around

ID: hungxs6

Go to your dorm room. (First floor, in the very back between the cafeteria and the parking lot.)

ID: hur51yd

The other comment is right about where to go. But I just think it’s worth adding: don’t expect anything to be marked on your map or anything like that. The majority of Final Fantasy games are not going to mark your objectives, part of the game is wandering around and exploring to find where to go next.

FF7 OR FF9?

I am new to final fantasy, And I want to know If I should buy FF7 Or FF9 If you were me what would you do?

Edit I still would want a definitive answer between these two

ID: hungdx7

I’m not sure who told you to start with FF11 but someone is confused. FF11 is a 20 year old MMORPG. While it is still running it is easily the worst starting place in the entire series right now.

ID: huo95ww

7 is a fine place to start but DO NOT start with 11. It is a very archaic and old MMO. They probably meant 10, which in my opinion is the best place to start.

ID: hur3n4e

I mean there’s not really a definitive answer but if I had to pick I’d say VII is a better starting place. A lot of the best parts of IX rely on knowledge of the classic games. Obviously you can still follow everything that happens in IX without that knowledge, but you’ll miss a lot of little things.

21 : Anonymous2022/01/29 04:39 ID: huokbfe

I'm replaying FF6 and I'm trying to find out for certain if the Air Lancet is obtainable before going to Mount Koltz. I distinctly remember watching my older brother play when I was young and he had Locke equipped with the Air Lancet, and I've spoken with another person who remembers getting an Air Lancet that early too but he doesn't remember where he got it. Am I remembering wrong or is it somehow possible to get the Air Lancet that early?

ID: hupo1qi

The earliest you can get it in is in the Returners' Hideout after the Mt. Koltz dungeon.

ID: hupy6cb

Piggybacking on Starry's always useful advice, Caves of Narshe lists four ways to obtain. In order of appearance - Found in Returners' HQ, steal from TunnelArmr, buy in Kohlingen or Narshe or Tzen, win from Scrapper (WoR).

i have a question

WHY IS FINAL FANTASY DIMENSIONS GAMES ONLY ON MOBILE !!!?

final fantasy dimensions games are orginal final fantasy classic style game with a job system and a original story .

but aren't they on pc ?

is it becouse it has the same artstyle as final fantasy 5 steam ( i do not mean the pixel remaster ) , but that only aplies to ffd1 becouse ffd2 has a 3d artstyle .

why can't they just give the pixel remaster treatment to ffd1 and give the hd treatment to ffd2 ?

sorry i sound angry but the final fantasy dimensions games are full original final fantasy games loked on mobile platforms

( the next on is a personal problem ) and becouse i have a huawei phone witch does not have the google play store ( becouse of a proble witch was resolved but google won't unban them )

closing verdict

these are good games the deserve to be on pc .

closing word

murder .

After digging info, on internet about final fantasy 16, it somehow have the same basic story setting as final fantasy 6(wich is a good thing)

I hope it is, because i think (imo) ff6 is still tee best ff game ever made. in terms of storytelling, setting and gameplay. If 16 get somehow similarities, its a day one for me for sure.

ID: hur3bd8

I’m not sure where you’re getting that impression, it doesn’t really seem very similar at all to VI. If anything it looks like Tactics is probably the most similar setting

25 : Anonymous2022/01/28 04:37 ID: hujigal

All of the Final Fantasy main entries are standalone so you could start anywhere you'd like, FF7R is fine to start with if that's what you're interested in but be aware that it won't be very representative of the franchise, for that I'd say 10 is a great bridge between the old and new style of FF.

The one thing I'd suggest is playing the original FF7 first if you're planning to at all, because Remake will obviously spoil it. You could say that the original also spoils Remake in a way, but the game was designed with that in mind and sometimes feels as if it works from the assumption that you know certain things (you don't need to, but a few details might go over your head and some things will just not hit as hard).

Lastly, Remake is not going to be a faithful remake so don't go in expecting one - we don't really know what direction they are going to go with part 2 yet but it's likely it'll divert from the original further, so you don't have to worry as much about spoilers in that direction.

26 : Anonymous2022/01/28 04:37 ID: hujiiy5

Final Fantasy is an anthology series, meaning there is no overarching narrative and it's rather a collection of many different stories. Personally I recommend to start with Final Fantasy 10. It's very linear (so you won't get lost) the combat is fun and takes thought, the story is pretty good, and it does a good job of representing almost all aspects of the series. With that being said 4, 6, 7, and 9 are all fine places to start from, but 10 is likely the best.

27 : Anonymous2022/01/28 05:33 ID: hujoxcs

Square Enix actually just released an article about this yesterday:

But here’s my suggestion: if there’s a particular one you’re interested in, start there. If not, I recommend either IV or X.

28 : Anonymous2022/01/28 12:16 ID: huknj33

Definitely 10, then 7/6/9.
