Are ff14 accounts and Square Enix store accounts separate?

ID: hw2c9ys

Probably, there is like 5 different website for FF14 alone, I still don't know exactly how they work xD

ID: hwhcc78

You can link them together when you create an account in one place or another. I think my SQEX NA account, FFPortal App, FFXIV Mogstation and FFXI PlayOnline are all same (linked) account.

Should I play the SNES classic version of FF6 or wait until the pixel remaster comes out?

ID: hw3lxxj

With all the extra time they've spent polishing it, the Pixel Remaster will almost certainly be worth the wait.

ID: hw5m4mi

It comes in 3 weeks top, and will be definitely an improved and faithful adaptation of the original, so I'd wait if I were you 🙂

4 : Anonymous2022/02/09 08:09 ID: hw788t9

So the only FF game I have played was FFX and thought it was great. I currently have FF7 and FF8, so my question is which one should I play first? I'm going to play both but want which I should play first

ID: hw8aius

FF7 is cult and is more representative of the classic gameplay of FF than FF8 imo.

It's also (imo) a better delivered story, with more solid characters development, and a traumatic moment that will crush you if you never heard about it before (probably even if you did tbh xD).

Hey I’m looking to try FF again. I’m a huge fan of dragon quest and smt, but not too versed in the FF universe. I played IV:3D remake a few years back on the DS, and I honestly wasn’t terribly fond of it compared to the DQ games on the same system. Looking to try again with the pixel remasters on iOS, any games 1-5 you recommend, or just wait and try 6?

ID: hwnk0s5

Actually I highly recommend V. I think it’s closest to DQ in terms of vibes and charm to provide a nice transition into FF. Its phenomenal implementation of the class system makes it a blast to play too.

ID: hwn1lfe

6 is probably the best out of all of them, so I'd suggest to wait.

If you want to try any other FF in the meantime, I recommend 10, 7 or 9.

Is blitzball optional in FFX? I'm enjoying the game so far, but just played my first blitzball match. The tutorial made decent sense, but actually playing the game felt extremely overwhelming and just not very fun. It took me 40 minutes of looking at badly animated character models swimming around and constantly stopping before I finally lost the match?

Is this side game important, and are there more of them? I'm just in it for the story and combat, I really don't care about this kind of minigame.

ID: hvzzc3w

It's just the one required match.

ID: hw24f42

As I recall, your starting team sucks. After recruiting better players, it stops being an exercise in frustration and actually fun.

ID: hw0fbi3

There may be an achievement for it, but there is only one match in the game you're forced to play, and it doesn't matter if you win or not.

ID: hw31ku8

You only have to play one game as part of the story. You don't have to win--if you do, you'll get an Elixir, but that's nothing special in the long run. After that, you won't have to bother with Blitzball to finish the game. However, you are required to play it a bit if you want to get Wakka's ultimate weapon.

ID: hw5ypan

I am barely ahead of you in my first playthrough of FFX. I hated the blitzball match. Somehow I won.

Immediately checked to make sure I don't even have to play it again.

ID: hwcee3e

if you want to get the best stuff for combat, you'll need it

otherwise, nah. you dont even need to win the story match

Do we know if FF6 Pixel Remaster will include the extra content that was on the DS version of FF6?

ID: hwjnajq

Afaik they didn't add the bonus content of other gba ports, so I doubt it.

Found a bug in FF9 I've never seen before.

Fighting Ozma, Zidane gets killed by Death(not Lvl5 Death), I have Eiko use Full-Life to bring him back up.

When he's up and his ATB is full again it just...doesn't register. He has a full ATB, but doesn't come up to attack or steal with, even after doing something with all of my other characters.

I reset the game before he could die again, so not sure if that would have fixed it.

Anyone else seen this before?

I know nothing is really Missable for Final Fantasy 10 except for a few collectibles, but is there anything I should work on throughout the game trophy wise? Like with the All material in final fantasy 7

ID: hwcemu5

is there anything I should work on throughout the game trophy wise

yes. a fucking lot

if you're going for 100%, you will absolutely hate yourself for going for 100%

but it can all wait until you get to the point of no return

10 : Anonymous2022/02/10 08:34 ID: hwcepnr

was the lightning dodger crater glitch fixed in the psvita version of ffx? (us version if that matters)

I just bought Ff7 remake, my first time even touching a final fantasy game. Is this game the good starting point for the series?

ID: hwke8r9

FF 7 is easily one of the most famous of the series. I myself think it's overrated, but lots of people will tell you it's their absolute favorite. So, is FF7 the best starting point? It depends on who you ask, but it's definitely one of the best.

However, you should know that FF7R is not exactly the same as FF7, and not just because of the graphics and battle system. The major things you should know as a newcomer:

FF7R is only «Part 1» so you're not getting the whole story that most of us played in the PS1 release; and There's good evidence that the story in FF7R might even be a different timeline than the original, so it's not exactly the same story

If you're looking for a good FF to start with, most people will recommend 6, 7, 9, or 10 in different orders. I believe 12 and 15 are solid choices, even if the latter is «incomplete». My absolute favorite is Final Fantasy Tactics, but it's nothing like the mainline series.

The first 5 games in the series are generally recommended only if you want to play all and/or don't mind playing games made for older systems, simpler stories and mechanics. They're not bad games at all by the standards of their time, but they definitely don't hold a candle to what most people here consider to be the best.

ID: hweu4ac

Yes and no.

Yes cause it's the story of one of the "best" ff (for most people) with a modern take on the traditional atb system.

No cause it's only 1/4 of the story, they only did the first 25/33% of the game with the remake.

I'm at chapter 9 of FFXIII. At what point do battles drop actual Gil instead of the random loot that you sell for Gil (credit chip, incentive chip) if any?

ID: hwgzdc4

Battles will never drop Gil themselves. You have to sell components, either useless ones or ones that are specifically meant to be sold, or weapons/accessories that you're not gonna use to get your money.

Hi all, I'm desparately trying to find an upload of a video I first watched years ago on a ps2 demo disk. The video came out around the time of the launch of FFX, and featured a compliation of shots of all the final fantasies from 1-9, followed by the into cinematic for FFX. It was such an awesome video, maybe titled '10 years of final fantasy' or something.

Wondering if anyone here can help?

ID: hwl9bh8

It's very similar to what you're describing. It's this it?

14 : Anonymous2022/02/12 00:16 ID: hwkujz4

Are the Ninja and Sage still the overpowered jobs in the pixel remaster of 3, or were they rebalanced like the ds version?

ID: hwlv127

Sage unfortunately has the lower MP and inability to use full-powered Summon spells that it had in the DS version.

Ninja is more comparable to the NES in terms of stats, just with quite lower Vit and thus lower HP.

15 : Anonymous2022/02/12 19:23 ID: hwojl5x

I really enjoyed FFIII, I thought the job system was fun and while it was super grindy I don't have an issue with that stuff. Instead of replaying it I was wondering if theres any other games like FFIII that you guys might recommend? I was thinking about FFV as from what ive read at least it expanded on the job system? Any input is appreciated, I really enjoyed the freedom I felt with who I wanted to fill what role and experimenting with the different jobs and I want another game that is similar to FFIII, either in franchise or a completely different game. Any recs?

ID: hwouzrr

V is definitely what you're looking for and, if you don't mind playing on mobile, the first Dimensions game is a full-length (with no microtransactions or lootboxes) retro-style game with a very similar job system as well. It sort of feels like a modern successor to V.

Other notable job systems in the franchise are Tactics, X-2, XII, and the FFXIII trilogy, but it should be noted that these games are all quite different from III.

ID: hwp3k10

There's a lot of people who think FFV has the best gameplay in the series, largely because the job system is so flexible and well-designed and balanced.

There's literally an annual charity event where people just play FFV over and over again as an excuse to try out different job combinations.

ID: hwphhhq

FFV's job system is a MASSIVE upgrade over FFIII's and honestly I never felt forced into doing stuff like "all mage party for this fight, all physical party for this fight, do this for this fight" nearly as frequently for FFV, even if a guide suggested it, I haven't fully played through the game but on near endgame and it's been a great experience so far

16 : Anonymous2022/02/12 21:26 ID: hwp1v3u

I'm on the final boss of FFVII but I don't know what game I wanna do after this. Im thinking either 8 or 10 but I can't find 10 on its own only 10/10-2, so should I do 8 or the 8 remaster or is there maybe another one I should try.

ID: hwp32ef

is there any problem with 10/10-2?

17 : Anonymous2022/02/12 23:12 ID: hwph598

FFV, SNES version

at endgame with the remaining stuff being the optional summons, the mime class and the optional weapons, and I noticed I'm finally getting to master a lot of the jobs and I've been wondering, any tips for how to go down endgame if I want to use spellblade on my physical characters in endgame still?

Party is, spoilered

Feris - Mystic Knight with Two-Handed

Bartz - Mystic Knight with Two-Handed

Krile - White Mage with Time Magic

Lenna - Summoner with Black Magic

I haven't bothered to pick up most blue magic and probably won't end up doing that, would prefer to have time magic in the party still cause haste2 feels so strong but if there's ways to convince me to change that I will, similar thing with whether or not I should lose the spellblades or not

Not looking to master every single class for the strongest freelancer or mime but if a build requires mastering maybe only 2-4 classes and switching to freelance

I might give it a try, though red mage's dualcast might be a BIT too much of a grind for my tastes

Would prefer to keep the 2 physical/2 caster split if possible and it would be nice to keep spellblade on both the physical (whether that's as a mystic knight, or as another class with spellblade as a skill) but I understand if a much better build would drop it in favor of other stuff

18 : Anonymous2022/02/09 19:15 ID: hw9h386

How is the default text in the Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remasters? Does it really make the games, unplayable and unreadable?

ID: hw9ro38

I never had an issue with it, it's pretty readable and clear, so I guess this is an habit issue.

Those who complain are used to a different font, that's all.

ID: hwdy10q

It really doesn't bother me. Yeah, it could aesthetically be better. But when you're actually playing the game it's unimportant. I suspect if you work in graphic design or typography maybe it's a little more painful to look at.

It's also trivial to swap the english and japanese font files so they look better, so if you want just google that.

ID: hw9q23x

The default font is lousy, but not bad enough to cause issues outside of just weakening the aesthetic.

It's also really easy to change the default font on the PC version.

19 : Anonymous2022/02/10 16:51 ID: hwdy83p

Has FF7R on PC received any patches yet to address some of the issues at launch like lack of graphics options? I have no issue buying on Epic, but I do miss the ability to see patch updates in the game's news feed like Steam has.

ID: hwhcsjn

Same. I have Epic Games Launcher just to see the store listing. Probably will buy a PS5 over buying anything on Epic.

20 : Anonymous2022/02/12 22:49 ID: hwpduw7

I find the combat system and job boards an absolute mess in FFXII, and while I adore Ivalice, I can't find the will or interest to push through and find a part where I become invested. And I being too harsh in my judgment of the game? Does the gambit system ever get less... unfortunate and micromanagery?
