- New Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster Screenshots

Don’t tease the octopus, kids.

Beautiful. I am curious about the music, I cannot wait for the Opera.
-
If anybody is complaining about the UI. This screenshots were taken from the Mobile version. PC version have a different UI.
ID: hwalu6lAnd the font of the other releases is very easy to fix, so I suspect this one will be too
-
You can see the exact screen shot from the original game of the party standing on the airship here.
The sprites are missing the dark/black outlines from the originals, also maybe it's not the same screenshot but is the Remaster missing the background here?
ID: hw9fsmlAs someone who played it multiple times. Based on the line that has been said, that scene is supposed to have a dark background.
-
Font makes me nauseous
ID: hw8sqhbjust fix it when the game comes out, we've known a work around since September.
Edit: FF6 is for sale on steam!
-
it looks like they're giving the opera scene special treatment with the slight skew 3d effect on the background there.
I swear if this is their way of teasing future HD2D version of the pixel remaster series… well I’m sold already
ID: hw9cl7lYou know how pissed I'd be if they sold the Pixel Remasters and then immediately tried to sell me HD2D remakes of them?
I'd be so pissed as I handed them my wallet.
ID: hw9dw1tI kinda wish they made the whole game in this style. i loved that style in octopath traveler.
ID: hw9n82zSince they just released this, that ensures that type of remake won’t be happening for a very long time.
ID: hw9dxz7I keep saying, Octopath Traveler was a proof-of-concept.
-
Please fix the font Square-Enix, please! Or tell us why you won’t, because it is easy fix if you buy PC version, but I’m planning on playing on my mobile…
ID: hw9x7lrI like how after they saw everyone on earth complain about it, and install mods to fix it, they just double down on it. Such an odd company.
-
This is the one I’ve been waiting for. Haven’t played VI since the PS1 release. That version was straight ass too. Can’t wait to hear the redone music.
-
At least she still has her Green Hair
-
Looks fine enough. I personally would've loved all of the pixel remasters be made on the octopath engine. I'm honestly just glad that this masterpiece of a game will finally be available on a modern platforms in way that isn't hideous. For the record we all know what Square is doing with these right? They're releasing them on Steam and mobile then be mysteriously silent on them for months. Then after several console gamers that love the series to death break down and buy them because there's been no word on them coming to consoles. Then afterwards claim they were listening to their fans and announce console ports. Resulting in a lot of people buying the games twice. Like me.
-
Huh, I actually really like how this looks, even though I do agree some of the coloring is off
-
I still just don’t love the sprites of these versions, but they’re so much better than the travesty that was the V and VI PC ports that I still kinda love this whole release series.
-
Please. Please SE give me these on the Switch
-
I hope these are announced for Switch in today's Direct.
ID: hw93okaThey either need to announce for the Switch, or (for the love of god….) support MFi controllers.
It’s absolutely ridiculous that they’re releasing games in 2022 for mobile without at least the OPTION for controller support.
Until I can play this with a controller in some way, I refuse to purchase.
-
I love Relm’s new sprite. It’s a big change but more inline with the Amano artwork.
-
I'm not digging the colors of this one. The originals had this sort of dirty and dark color tone that's mostly gone in this version, especially on the character sprites. The original colors set an atmosphere that was grim, somber, and dreadful. It was a cool and unique atmosphere that not only made the bad guys feel more threatening, but it made the hopeful moments stand out even more. Idk. Maybe it's just boomer talk, but I think the old colors were just better specifically for FFVI.
ID: hw91uq3I'm starting to think that was the scan lines that created that dark and muddy look.
ID: hw9oo88CRT displays had a backlighting effect, so the game originally looked brighter back in the 90's. The brighter look in all the games in the Pixel Remasters was surely an attempt to recreate that.
ID: hw9wp45It does feel oddly bright and happy compared to the original. It changes the tone a lot.
-
It's supposed to look better, right?
-
Still one of the greatest games ever made. I saw the Distant World orchestra in Montreal a few years ago, and they performed the opera section and I remember having to fight back tears, it was such an unreal experience.
-
Can’t wait!
-
I played this, solid game, Locke was great
-
Font, schmont. I'll still buy it for the updated soundtrack and to try to make it up to Square Enix for pirating the SNES rom 25 years ago.
-
I hope the font can be made bolder, I'm too dyslexic for text this skinny.
-
I dont like it. Especially that menu...ew
ID: hwa3g6fPretty sure this is the mobile version, the PC menus haven't looked like that
ID: hw9d8pmYeah the menu UI stands out to me a lot and I don't care for it at all.
-
The best looking character sprites so far and the absolute worst overworld.
So it’s FFVI.
-
Weird, I thought 4 and 5 looked great, but this looks really off for some reason.
ID: hw9680vMe too, and I'm not really sure why. The sprites are definitely nicer than the mobile version (low bar), but colors, overworld, and UI are...meh.
-
They really remain convinced that this font is at all appropriate despite the five previous releases and reactions, huh?
-
I want a full remake to the true best FF of all time. I don't wanna a fancy remake like FF7R, but at least something at Trials of Mana remake level.
-
Call me crazy, but this doesn't look very impressive for a Pixel Remaster. Looks like a typical mobile port.
-
Still waiting for a console release for any of the remaster..
ID: hwa8nwuSurely it’s coming….I just hope we get them as a package and not as expensive individual releases.
-
Jesus, the overworld hurts my eyes. I've generally been on board with the Pixel Remasters, but how did they look at that and think it was okay?
-
The font is rough.
-
Ugly ass font lol
-
The UI is ugly af
