Blows my mind that Mario Kart 8 is still in the top 10, despite being a 4 year old port of a 7 year old game.

Can you imagine the billions of dollars they'll make when they drop mario kart 9?

It does often comes bundled in with a switch, so the people getting a new console might just happen to pick up the bundle instead of actually wanting to buy the game itself. This has happened multiple times with Nintendo products in the past.

Good stuff! It was an amazing game worthy to be a sequel. Now persona 6 is hopefully up next!

See ya in 2026

By that time we’ll all be dads/moms for real instead of having to lie to our teacher wearing a maid outfit.

Pretty surprising to me. I didn't think it would do so good. It was 3rd overall counting all platforms but specifically it was 3rd for the month on Playstation but was unranked for the Switch. My guess would be that it did most of its sales on Playstation and Steam. Hopefully this convinces Atlus that PC is a worthwhile investment.

Bravely Default 2 was unranked but it came out on Feb 26 so it would only have 2 days of sales data and that might be why it was unranked.

Makes sense. A Persona 5 spinoff/sequel should do better on platforms where gamers were able to play Persona 5. This game is not aimed at welcoming new players, it's very much for the fans.

Honestly the game going to Switch in the first place was always a bit weird. Only ever happened because of how well the hardware is selling in Japan I reckon.

I refuse to play strikers before P5 and my most recent PS is 2 (other than Vita) sooooo yeah. I do have a Switch though and I'm really annoyed they dropped Strikers before P5 on it. I'm happy they brought strikers, but wtf atlus, just port p5 already... so many people are waiting for that to jump in.

Really interested in the sales per platform

Considering I think P5S is still in like the top 15 or top 20 of global top sellers on Steam I'm willing to bet the bulk of sales for that game are on PlayStation and PC, not so much Switch

ID: gqr8x8n

For pc sales there are estimates of sales available on sites like steam spy

ID: gqr5rd3

if you look through the tweets, you can see how it ranks per platform. It was 3rd for Playstation and unranked for the Switch. No data was given for Steam. My conclusion is the same as yours, I think it did the bulk of its sales on PS and PC.

ID: gqrpdnf

considering how badly it runs on switch you'd be an idiot for getting it on that console. Honestly shouldn't have been made. The switch can't handle a game of this size without some serious leg work.

I got it on PS4 strictly because the screen tearing is horrific on PC.

I really need to get off my ass and finish P5 so I can play this

8 : Anonymous2021/03/13 03:12 ID: gqri0fg

Definitely not on the switch, that's for sure...

Oh well, I'm enjoying P4G on PC, at least...

9 : Anonymous2021/03/13 03:52 ID: gqrlzoq

I have it but I cant play it because I want to play P5R first, and Im really hoping that they release it on PC T_T

Edit : Misspelling

ID: gqrqbbq

But they did release P5S for PC!

Bro this list tells me nintendo games sell SUPER well in the US

ID: gqryqh0

Nintendo's own games tend to sell really well in all territories. Especially this generation, they've been killing it. If you look at Famitsu data for Japanese weekly sales, almost everything in the top 40 is a Switch game and the majority of them are Nintendo's own games. Here's an example if you want to check it out

Really makes you wonder why the long delay in localization if it sold so well.

ID: gqraatg

apparently they couldn't record in the studio due to covid restrictions so they had to record at home and there were problems that occurred because of that since not everyone had the right equipment. I'm sure there were other problems but this was a big one I heard about.

ID: gqra84e

Maybe Covid? I've noticed some volume issues during dialog.

ID: gqrphh4

atlus is slow at localizing. Also covid probably screwed with a lot of the dubbing considering how many audio issues I've heard from playing through it. From a professional standpoint having to record actors from home probably doubled or even tripled the audio guys workload.

Unpopular opinion but I’m struggling to get into Strikers. The story has that inconsequential feel of Arena or Q and the combat feels clunkier to me than other Musou games.

ID: gqrg9qy

How far are you? The story is absolutely terrible until the third arc starts and the combat isn’t great until you start getting ore abilities and master arts.

I’d have dropped it if it wasn’t persona but I’m glad I stuck with it

ID: gqrgfi3

while inconsequential, i do have to say that i like Arena and Q for going into stuff that happened after persona 3.

it's not like any of that came from 4 and 5, and it still feels like 3 is the one i'm "attached" to, if that makes sense

like, nothing in 5 affected 3. so is that just as inconsequential? i dunno.
