My Origins copy came in yesterday from the SquareEnix store. Posted multiple pics for the people that were wanting to see the differences from original prints in another thread. Don’t care that it’s greatest hits or not original print, last FF for Ps1 I needed.

I bought a couple on the last sale (Chronicles/Anthology/Origins/FF9) and a couple of them came with cracked cases, sadly (and FF9 came with a loose disc, so I had to open it 🙁 ). But it's great that I could buy them officially and so cheap (about 7 bucks per game)

I grabbed this one for $15, no sale at the time. But $15 still isn't bad so I am happy. They need to start doing reprints of some Enix games like Valkyrie Profile or Star Ocean. Valkyrie Profile prices are ridiculous, I would gladly accept a reprint of that at a fair price instead of $250+ it sells for now.

Idk if you’ve played it but good lord the first one is random encounter city. Felt like an encounter every 4-5 steps.

I used to own it when it originally came out. Ex sold off a majority of my collection so I have to re-buy a lot. Also played 1 on NES and 2 on a fan translation rom well before this release. But yeah, they can be tedious but I don't mind.

Surprised these are still being manufactured/sold!

Woah, that’s awesome! I got the Dawn of Souls port of these games a week ago, and now I’m almost done with FF1

It weirds me out as a European that PS1 games came in a standard jewel case in the states.

They didn't at the very beginning, they came in cardboard and plastic longboxes similar (in size if not function) to the cardboard boxes early compact discs were packaged in. They switched to jewel cases pretty early (before the first Square games, certainly) for the same reason CDs did: outcry over how wasteful the packaging was.

Readable side of the CD looks the same to me

They havent gone out of print??? Thats wild.

Maybe I too can just post photos of game cases and get free karma......

Wasn't exactly the point of the post, downvote it I really don't care. Like I said in the title someone in another thread was wondering what the re-prints looked like so I posted it for them to compare themselves. Also, a lot of people aren't aware that square still re-prints these from time to time. If your first concern when you make a post is if you will get karma that is your problem bud.

Does karma even have a use anyway? If it's just big pp points then I don't get why people care to either farm karma or about people who farm it? I'm probably missing something.
