does anyone know the song name that yuna sings in the beginning of x2?

ID: h1rqitg

It's called Real Emotion. Sung by Sweetbox in English and Koda Kumi in Japanese.

Which game could you drive the city's around? I only ever played 1 final fantasy and i cant remember if it was 7 or 8 and im wanting to buy it again but dont want to get the wrong 1 lol

ID: h1z8dak

I believe you are referring to 8.

In FFIV complete edition, is there anything else to do after killing the final boss?

the Cave of Trial and Lunar Ruins.

Is steam or switch a better platform to play most of the mainline games?

ID: h2b81r4

I think Steam, since almost all of the mainline games are available there unlike the Switch. However, I would recommend to use a controller since most FF games were not made with keyboard/mouse in mind.

FFXII Revenant Wings - Hi everyone, i'm finding it VERY difficult to find any solid answers on this anywhere online. What exactly do you need to do in Revenant Wings to get 100% completion? I see there are 81 missions, 45 mainline, 36 tomaj and then the final fight. But you also have the monster melee, sky pirate melee and summon melee missions. And some secret missions too.

Has anyone figured out how to use Dragoon's ability in FF Origin? Does jump increase stagger by much? I'm having trouble utilizing it.

Update: ok, well it looks like Dragoon's jump does 500+ damage if you time it right, really liking this ability. When I just started playing FF XIV, I wanted to get a dragoon, tried it but the jump is just not as satisfying without real-time action combat.

Team Ninja is about to take another 300 hours of my life 😀

ID: h20u09x

Dude stranger of paradise demo on hard was really fun and rewarding. I leveled most of the jobs to around 20 but settled on dragoon being my favorite. I crit garland for almost 900 damage with jump during the fight

ID: h1uzmcl

Not a question but just wanted to add that magic is extremely satisfying in this game. I was longing for a good action-game with black mage class and this is just what I wanted. I almost played FF Explorers on 3DS just to have some black mage combat there, haha.

Stealing spells feels nice, especially in boss battles. FF Origin gets a lot of things right, can't wait for release.

Was the FINAL FANTASY® CRYSTAL CHRONICLES™ Remastered Edition patched on Switch? Does it look good enough? I've read that it's 30 fps on both platforms, so I'd probably get it on Switch since it is on a good sale now.

Wondering if anyone saw/played both versions.

Never mind, got the Switch version.

9 : Anonymous2021/06/15 21:12 ID: h1w7okj

Is WoFF any good? There’s a huge Switch eShop sale at the mo and all FF titles are discounted so tempted to pick it up alongside X/X-2 which are my favourites

ID: h1wh9l3

WoFF is great. It will take roughly 3-4 hours for the game to open up, there's a lot of fun things. Combat is kind of slow so you'll need to be patient at first.

Very cute game, story is charming. Gameplay is basically going through a dungeon, micro-managing party and using abilities. If you like FF franchise, it'll be even better.

I'd also suggest Crystal Chronicles if you haven't played it yet.

Which game should I start with? I want to marathon the numbered FF games after whichever one ends up being my starting point. Like, if I start with I, then I'll play II, then III, etc. And if I start with IV, then I'll play V, then VI, etc. I'm having trouble deciding which should be my starting point though. My tolerance for older games is kinda weird, since I was born in 2000, so I'm used to some fifth gen games, but I mostly grew up with sixth and seventh gen. I'm thinking I should start with either I, IV, VI, VII, or X. If I start with I or IV, should I bother with the other games that weren't originally released outside Japan (II, III, and V)? Or should I just skip those?

ID: h1z5xux

If you like grinding - if you've played games like Dragon Quest 1, 2 or 3 - then I'd just start with FF1, given your goals here. FF1 and FF3 are pretty heavy grinds (can't remember how bad FF2 is) depending on the version you're playing.

If you're not such a fan of grinding, I'd start with FF4. You do have to gain some levels here and there, and at the end game portion, but it's nothing compared to the early FF games or a traditional CRPG. The FF series isn't too difficult overall, so if you have experience with any other RPGs, you should be mostly OK.

ID: h2a3295

IMO you should start with 6, the first 5 (particularly 4) have good and influential entires but 6 is when it becomes more modern and, with the exception of 8 IMO, the games become more accessible, dialogue heavy and fun, even in the worse entries like 13 and 15.

II, III and V are now part of the "western" canon, nobody calls 4 "FF2" or 6 "FF3" anymore, definitely play them when do. If anything you should worry more about the MMOs 11 and 14 lol

Does ff7r ps4 get a free upgrade on physical, and can I still get the intermission dlc if I pay for it or something

ID: h21sbz6

You can upgrade for free and pay for intermission seperate as DLC

ID: h219pr9

I think you get a free PS5 upgrade but will need the physical ps4 disc in the system in order to play it. Besides that, Intermission should run fine.

12 : Anonymous2021/06/15 00:20 ID: h1sksm9

Alright, I know this is a pretty old thread at this point but seriously: the fuck is the deal with Origins? The plot looks like a thin veil of FF with NieR combat. Is this and Marvel all SE had to offer?

ID: h1y6j01

People are saying it's basically Nioh (made by the same developer) with an FF skin. I've played the demo, but I've never played Nioh so I can't vouch for that comparison myself.

So, i heard that they are finally remaking the original final fantasy games.....for mobile phones. I don't know enough about final fantasy myself to form an opinion regarding this, but i want to know; what do you think? Is it good or bad?

Edit: just saw that it is available on PC and steam too, sorry for missing that

ID: h1y5t4g

I think it's good that they are making new versions. Particularly for 3 because this will be the first time the original (ish) 2D version is being made available outside of Japan.

But it's a big shame that it's PC and mobile only. However I'm hoping that console versions are coming eventually, and they just weren't ready to announce those versions yet. Maybe they will release them as one big collection on consoles, and they'll only announce it once all of them are out on PC/mobile.

ID: h1yj1kz

For mobile phones, and Steam / PC. I don't think we've seen enough of these games to really form much of an opinion, though. Plenty of the ports of the older games are fine, but there are plenty that are a mess, like the FF6 version currently on Steam, the various times they've ported Chrono Trigger, what they've done to Secret of Mana over the years, and so on.

I own the digital edition PS5 and I also own the disc version of FF7. Is there anyway to get the upgrade without having to buy the digital version of the game all over again?

ID: h1y6ew3

No, you need the disc in to verify you own the PS4 version to play the free PS5 upgrade. So there's no way to do it if you have a digital only PS5.

Generally speaking there's no way to do disc->digital upgrades, unless the publisher is willing to send you a code for the PS5 version. That's what EA is doing for Jedi Fallen Order. You send them proof of purchase of the PS4 version and a PS5 console and they'll send you a key. Unfortunately Square Enix isn't doing that.

ID: h1udf4s

Yes, search the PlayStation store for final fantasy and you'll see a separate listing for the upgrade. Might want to make sure the disc is in the console. This is what I did and upgraded just fine.

I played FF6 with the A World Reborn Mod and used the remastered soundtrack on that package, where can i find those versions?

I just downloaded the latest version of the patch on romhacking.net and the readme says to use v1.0 of the rom and not rev 1. The correct version can be found on slash r slash roms.

I'm playing FF7 original and I heard that you could unlock Yuffie in the Judon forests, but I went to Judon harbor since my party was low on health thinking I could nab a stay at an Inn and not have to use a tent. I went to town and ended up on the beach and had to fight the serpent boss (I don't know what it is really called). I managed to win without getting a game over screen and next thing I knew it, I ended up sneaking aboard the cargo ship without having Yuffie join my party. Did I blow my chance or is there another way to unlock her, (i.e. can I go back to Judon harbour after the events that take place in the cargo ship).

ID: h21v5gu

You can encounter Yuffie in any forest in the game.

How can I experience the story of 11 without playing it. I already have the game and didn't enjoy it.

How do you actually use the chocograph pieces? FFIX

ID: h231u2j

The pieces are just hints leading you to the last chocobo place (if you've only found the first, there's 3 places like the forest in total). You don't need to use them in any way, except if you want to look at the hints to find the last chocobo dig location. It moves around so it can be in any of several places hinted at by the pieces. You will need to find them all, 6 in total, though.

Which FF game should I play after FF7? I really enjoyed the game's story and characters, although I found lots of aspects to be dated. Are there any FF games on the Switch that have more modern features, like quest tracking, more comprehensive tutorials, and more interesting battle systems? Right now I'm mainly looking at the FFX/X-2 collection and FFIX.

ID: h26x665

Those two would probably be the best bet, although neither has the specific features you were talking about. They're still very much classic jrpg's. But if it helps, I think the relevant sidequests are mostly easier to keep track of anyway in those than in VII. You'll still need a guide to find everything though, but you can do most of that late-game if you don't want to use a guide during the story (I personally wouldn't).

Something to note is that while IX is one of the most praised FF's, the combat is quite slow and that bothers some more than others. Since you were looking for an interesting battle system I thought to mention it. It's interesting and strategic, but just not fast paced.

Just started the PSP version of Final Fantasy 3 (via the PSPPP emulator.)

Does anyone know if the PSP version is more like the Steam version or the DS version?

I hear the DS version has some bonus content only accessible through an online connection so wanted to know if I'd still be able to access this?

ID: h27nx7m

The PSP version is the same as the Steam version, so all of that bonus content is accessible without having to jump through hoops

22 : Anonymous2021/06/18 14:09 ID: h27mc80

With the Strangers Of Paradise announcement we have a game coming out being linked to Final Fantasy I. Is there anyway to play Final Fantasy I on the PS5 (i.e. the PSOne Classic Final Fantasy Origins)?

If not PS5, what about the Nintendo Switch? Or what's the easiest method to play it?

ID: h282sns

FFI, ironically, isn't available on modern consoles in any way, shape or form. There's an Android/iOS version, but it's really the PSP version with less features and a lower-quality soundtrack. Your best bet is to emulate the PSP version if you want the most modern version, or emulate the PS1 version if you want a harder difficulty.

ID: h2a27ww

The easiest way to play FF1 now is probably to emulate until the Pixel Remaster releases, you can take your pick from the versions, like NES, PSP, etc. I think the NES version has some cool things like the DND-like magic system instead of MP that makes it worth considering as a version to play even today

23 : Anonymous2021/06/19 02:25 ID: h2a5ifs

I’m making a video game playlist on Apple Music and I have found the FF games on there. Can I get music suggestions for FF1-11? (Except for FF7 which I already know the music from.)

24 : Anonymous2021/06/19 03:22 ID: h2abo11

So I’ve been looking around online but I can’t seem to find a solid answer… I bought FF7R back in January on PS4, just upgraded to the PS5 version, but is the intermission DLC not included for free as well? On the PS store it says I still have to pay for it. If anyone can help clarify it would be appreciated!

ID: h2al136

Intermission is not included in the free upgrade and has to be boughten separately

26 : Anonymous2021/06/19 20:38 ID: h2cyb0u

More or less down to personal preference with the games setting. You'll hear that alot with this series. FF7R is in my opinion, the better game, so maybe start with XV cuz alot of XV's issues were sorted out with FF7, and it could be difficult going back to its gameplay after. Havent played Royal but i heard that fixed alot of the issues too so who knows. Also FF7R as a project isnt finished whereas FFXV is, so rhe longer you hold off on FF7 the less youll have to wait for part 2 lol.

should i buy 15? i played 12 and didnt really like the combat system. is it similar? if it helps ive played type 0 hd and enjoyed that system though i dont remember it all that well since my account with the game got deleted a while back and i havent bought it again

30 : Anonymous2021/06/15 10:35 ID: h1u11er

It definitely isn't anything like 12. It's pretty fun, but seriously lacks depth sometimes, but that becomes more of a problem in the post-game content than during the main game. Haven't played type-0 so hard to compare those. I'd recommend giving it a go at least, I think most people enjoy it even if not everyone loves it.

31 : Anonymous2021/06/15 22:07 ID: h1wey4c

Who was the female voice over in the Stranger of Paradise trailer? I want to assume it's supposed to be Princess Sara or an equivalent.

Her voice is so familiar. I want to say it's Kari Wahlgren, but I can't find any credits online anywhere that list the female voice.

32 : Anonymous2021/06/15 22:25 ID: h1wh2yg

She is marked as Princess Sarah in the subtitles, so it is her.
