It took me a while but then it clicked the Bullets represent the fire mode: single, Burst, Full.

In addition, you can change it in crafting. Legendary weapon can’t change fire mode though.
ID: gtcvqp2ID: gtd3iwsI don't have the weapon yet, but just on paper Icarus looks like a massive disappointment. The (imo) coolest looking gun in the game but it got into the worst possible weapon category (Automatic Sniper Rifle) in the worst possible variant (maximum fire rate).
Now in theory, that is not bad. You could treat it as a kind of more precise assault rifle, sure, but the scope is a massive detriment then (loss of peripheral vision), and I don't think it has the ammo reserve to make it truly viable in that capacity anyway.
ID: gtda9paYeah, legendaries being stuck to 1 variant or coming with predetermined stats is a bit meh, but I hope they will change that in the future!
I don't know if you know btw, but when you change a lightweight sniper to a standard sniper the magsize gets reduced and sadly won't stay at those nice numbers. 🙁

Standard - full auto
Tactical - Burst
Sharpsooter - Single
ID: gtch7vtIs sharpshooter just dogsbit in general? Switching to tactical improves the DPS by so much it's insane. I thinking tactical is even better than standard for damage (both DPS and the much better crit damage)
ID: gtcjk5sI haven’t found a sharpshooter that was worth using. Feel very weak compared to tactical.
ID: gtcjo3vI also use Tactical for double damage + short burst fire lets you hold the trigger and still have good control without drift from recoil.
ID: gtcjqmqBurst snipers suck tho.. I agree that the assault weapons with 1 shot suck, but boy do those burst snipers feel weak every time.
ID: gtcrgssDunno about sharp shooter but I run a bolt action tifle and managed to finish the story last night with no problems. Don't know how good my setup would work on console bc I suck with controllers but I headshot for 120k so the game turns into: "I see elite, I delete."

Im just jealous that youre being offered two weapons with storm whip when ive been looking for it since the beggining of the game and ive all but 4 tier 2 weapon mods now, still no storm whip. 🙁

There are so many little icons in this game that I don’t understand yet.
ID: gtclh4rA big one to learn is sometimes you’ll see above a mod on gear a 4 box grid symbol. That means you already unlocked that mod on your character, so either sell the gear for cash, or stash it for a different character to unlock the mod.
ID: gtczc23The big "aha!" one for me was finding out about the healing icon.
You can tell when killing an enemy will heal you on a Trickster (and presumably any other class) by looking for a green icon on the LEFT side of an enemy's health bar. Once you notice it, you can't unsee it and it's super helpful.
ID: gtczrajThis also helps you know when you are within close range damage distance. As a shotgun trickster it's very helpful choosing when to push out.

PSA, if you find a weapon you like but the fire mode isn't your favorite you can change it at the upgrade station.

I didn't realize it till I was already 30 and done with the main story.. I had been trying to memorize the weapon names 😀
