Was the first remastered of Cysis good? People did talk about it for a while and forgot it even existed
ID: hbch2pnID: hbbtl2lbased on what i've seen, no not really. people said that the graphics didnt impress for 2021 standards and the framerate wasnt stable. didnt feel like a good remaster.
ID: hbcc01sIts kind of shitty and even when older games get a facelift, it's clear how far we've come in level design, mechanics and voice acting. Voice acting always sticks out to me in these situations. We've come a longgggg way.

ID: hbchusjI am with you on this. You can only sell nostalgia so many times. It's not like Crysis was some Magnus Opus like GoW or TLOU. It's had a mediocre story and a dull gameplay loop (at least for me).

Fuck yea, maybe I'm in the minority but I LOVED the campaigns for 2 and 3. Having the bow in 3 was dope but i remember liking 2 more for some reason. Having a PS5 makes these things worth it to me but I could see why people on PS4 wouldn't care.
ID: hbcyznmI'm the same way and I think because two was a completely new environment. You went from the tropical jungles of the first game to the dense urban environment of the second and it was such a shock, in a good way. For 2011 it looked phenomenal, and played great too. #3 wasn't bad, but it wasn't much different from 2 to feel like a true sequel.

ID: hbdc4geGranted 2&3 have better code and based of the gameplay i saw both run nicely but nothing stops you from seeing reviews

If it had online for at least crisis 1 I would be hyped.
As it is. Meh. Maybe when it's $15 I'll get the trilogy.

Important to note (considering it got posted on this particular sub), that there's no PS5 build. You're playing the PS4 version through backcompat.
ID: hbd07zrYeah it's a backcompat+ title for lack of a better word. Kind of disappointing considering the series is known for overkill graphics, but at least it harnesses some of the extra power of the PS5.

I remember playing Crysis 2 and 3 multiplayer on the PS3 back in the day and loving every minute of it. The main menu music for 3 was sublime.

Never played those. not sure if they are my type of fps. Is it linear? Open world-ish?

I might be a bit biased (lol) but one thing I love about the Trilogy is that it offers different experiences with every game.
Crysis 1 is more of an open-world / sandbox experience. Crysis 2 is a bit more linear but focuses heavily on the lore and the story and Crysis 3 mixes these both games, both in terms of gameplay and storytelling wise.

Feels very dated gameplay wise. The last act with the aliens as enemies just plain sucks.
