- [RUMOR] Alan Wake Remastered (PS4/5 and Xbox) listed by multiple retailers for October 5th
-
It’s definitely happening at some point, now that Remedy has the rights to the ip. They’ll probably follow it up with a sequel too. Unless they plan to include Alan Wake in Control 2.
ID: hblnqudID: hblo1h9I know Control is, but Alan Wake?
ID: hbn3z90I would love a series of games all set in the control universe. They did such great world building in that game. One of the few games I’ve played where I made sure to read every bit of written world building and story telling.
ID: hbly5tgThey are very explicit in the Art of Control art book that Remedy has always owned the rights to the IP, it's the publishing rights that they recently got back from Microsoft. Alan Wake has always been completely theirs, they just couldn't sell it anywhere else until recently.
ID: hbnr5h6Absolutely splitting hairs with that one...

That's so soon wtf
ID: hblmj6fProbably meant to be one of the mystery reveals for Thursday’s playstation show.
ID: hbloh3s5th of October is also the day PS+ games for the month will be added.
Maybe it launches day 1 on PS+ like Control PS5 did.
ID: hbm3qnhMaybe Alan Wake 2 will be announced

Is Alan wake a good game ? I played control and liked it tbf. Always liked the look of Alan wake but it was only on Xbox.
ID: hblsps0It's a cult classic and possibly my fav xbox 360 game. Very charming and atomspheric. Killer soundtrack as well.
ID: hbmxgrlEver since playing Alan Wake I would google to see if there was a sequel on they way every few months. That was one of the most memorable games I've played in the last 15-20 years. I loved. This news makes me so happy!
ID: hblv4a4It was FANTASTIC in it's time. Probably my favorite game of the 360/PS3 era.
It's a bit dated now (not terribly though), so a remaster could go a long way.
ID: hbm7j3mI thought it was fantastic when I played it last year. Pandemic hit, i ended up with enough time to play stuff. It was the third title I picked to complete.
I agree a remaster definitely would catch it up.
Edit: Not sure how feasible 3D audio would be as a remaster addition, but that would be incredible
ID: hbm66zqInsanely good game
ID: hbmk8yjIt's the most Stephen King game going, and the soundtrack is fucking banging.
ID: hbly3bkIt's a good game but it drags on for far too long imo. The story, the graphics, the atmosphere etc were all top notch but the combat was just too simple which would of been fine if it had more variety. The weapons are your average run of the mill weapons and they were very limited if I remember correctly.
ID: hbm2gpgControl had a lot of similar issues even though the combat system was definitely more advanced. Alan Wake and Control were both fantastic for the first 40 - 60% but after that they both felt tedious.
ID: hbmnpsvI know you're 10 replies deep at this point, but yea it's a good game. The original is a cult classic, and if you read between the lines it's "cult" because it didn't set the world on fire. It plays a lot like an old school resident evil or silent hill.
It came during a weird period where the aforementioned games didn't transition well to a full 3d platform. RE had an identity crisis that I think is still ongoing. Silent Hill Homecoming was decent, but flawed as a video game. Alan Wake made the transition well even though it essentially mimicked those franchises. It also added a pretty good narrative.
If you're a fan of survival horror with an emphasis on narrative, then you should be excited by this news. Of course nobody has a clue whether they intend on sticking with the original gameplay values. I'm personally excited by this rumor.
ID: hblzykhIt definitely leaves an impression

2 hours ago I was just thinking " Man Control is fucking amazing, Remedy are awesome. If only Alan Wake would ever come to Playstation "
Great news !
ID: hblz349Long shot, but I would ask you to focus on Oblivion Remaster.
ID: hbmcblfLonger shot here, can you focus on my dad finally coming back from the store for a pack of smokes?

Fuck fuck fuck fuck. I hope this is true.
ID: hblntsqDaniel Ahmad confirmed it
ID: hbmpjzxAlan Wake came free with my XBox360 and turned out to be one of my favorite games of the era. I can't wait for my kids to play this so they can suffer the same existential dread it caused me 10 years ago.
ETA: apparently I need to play Control. Thanks!
-
Daniel Ahmad confirmed that it will be announced next week. (Probably at the Sony show)
ID: hblz2ueNice! Who is he? I’m out of the loop… I’m guessing he knows his stuff?
ID: hbm1jznHe's a pretty reliable leake

This game is gonna look bananas on PS5.
-
PLEASE be true. It's one of the Xbox games I really wanted and one of 6 Xbox games I actually own.
Would get it again for PS.
-
Noice
-
I’ll finally understand what that Control DLC was about.
-
Fuck yes I loved this game.
-
Never played the first one. Is it spoopy?
ID: hblqpkbIt's like Steven King kind of spoopy.
ID: hblogcgYeah, graphically it was really good, especially the textures on his jacket and the character model for the time. I really hated the clunky controls in the driving section. The game was going to originally be open world, but they nixed that and went with a linear chapter format. If the game had that kinda of control for driving in the original concept, I'm glad it was scrapped, but still hoped it would've went that way.
Rainy Woods/Red Seed Profile/Deadly Premonition actually did what Alan Wake was supposed to, but it was super low budget. I absolutely loved both of these games, and the combat with the Flashlight and Dodge Mechanic, with puzzle solving along with a spooky and compelling story made the game pretty amazing, even if they didn't make their original vision.
Great game, though! I'm totally all for it!
ID: hblr628deadly premonition was so funny..the main characters talks with zach was brilliant, that and alan wake had plenty twin peaks nods too
ID: hbmvx4aIts spooky, maybe eerie but not really scary. It might change in the remaster but the enemies talked to much to be really scary.
It still had a great atmosphere and the story was a lot of fun.
I would give it 4 rubber bats out of 10 on the spook-o-scale.
-
Eurogamer picked up on this back in June
-
Hell yes I'm getting this.
Hopefully it includes the DLCs and American Nightmare, which I've never played.
-
Oh yeah, they SERIOUSLY need to add Ray Tracing to this like they added it to Control.
It would add so much more to that game! A lot more than RT added to Control. Lighting is literally the cornerstone of this game's design.
-
Just to remind that the 5th is the day the October PS Plus games will be added.
ID: hbmu17mToo good to be true
-
i hope so , love this game
-
Would rather a full remake but I'll take it
-
Holy shit, I didn’t think this was even in the cards.
-
Has anyone replayed it and can speak to its replayability? When I played control I watched the cutscenes before playing the DLC so I know the story.
-
So 1190 Philippine peso is £17, €20 or $24. Good price if accurate.

Second game is already in production as of last month
