That makes 4 games they're working on, well, 3.5; •A AAA game based on a "multi-million selling IP" for PS VR 2 (Horizon spinoff claimed by various outlets) •A AAA narrative adventure new IP •A FPS new IP •Star Citizen multiplayer (the .5 to that 3.5 games)
Fantastic purchase from Sony.

ID: hddme37I don't have a problem with storytelling in games but Sony games go too far when it comes to sacrificing interactivity. There are far too many times in these games where you're just holding the analog stick forward walking slowly through hallways while a group characters are just talking, restricting movement from the player.
Whether it's games like gow, tlou, or uncharted, games with numerous sections like this and being praised widespread, causing other games to try to imitate them. That's the problem most of us who complain about this have. They try to pass themselves off as being cinematic but they come across as empty padding.

ID: hdcm9j0SIE literally said Firesprite will be making experiences outside of Sony's core offerings, so I think people are jumping the gun with the narrative adventure game description and expecting it to be just like their usual core offerings.
Narrative game could be a survival horror (Firesprite made The Persistence). It could be an RPG. It might even be an immersive sim. Narrative adventure is a pretty nebulous descriptor, almost certainly deliberately so. Right now, they're not going to explicitly state the genre or style because that can reveal too much about the project (and some publishers are sensitive about such details being known too early).

ID: hdczs8zMS would have Fable, Avowed, Outer Worlds 2, Starfield, inXile new IP and potentially ES6 as RPG games, Sony would have nothing to compete against those. I'm kinda fed up with third person linear narrative games now. Would like more variety. Returnal and Deathloop is a good direction. Just need more RPGs.

The 'multi million selling IP' is wipEout for PSVR2, NOT the mobile version that just dropped.
I read it as it was their IP, not a Sony IP they are working on?
But yes, add this to their list.
