Comebacks can be a thing for certain games, but usually that starts to happen with the next big overhaul update for that game. A very expensive update, in the works for a long time. It also happens with games that still sold well and could sell lots more (NMS) or had a large enough following that they would jump aboard once the problems are fixed (FFXIV).
Thing is... neither were true for DAS. It released as a wet cabbage, which has only rotted in the months since then.
It's done. Sony will do the bare minimum (a year of small updates, if the studio is lucky) before taking the game out back and shooting it.
At this point, it's a better use of money to try and make the next game a hit.

I played it once and it was SO BORING. I can't believe how a death match arena with cars to blow up was made boring. I played two matches and even my five year old asked me to play something else. I never went back.

Boring but potentially smart solutions: - racing mode like others have mentioned - weapons on the cars Twisted Metal style
Pathetic (entertaining) crossovers events I’d be there for - PlayStation themed levels and weapons (bow and arrow + goo bombs + jungle level = horizon, shot guns + bricks + apocalypse Seattle = Last of Us) (think recent astrobot but less respectful to the franchises)

ID: hepug6pI think it requires more than that. For one, the story mode part should be included as they can be quite fun. And then change pretty much everything else. Like have you played wreckfest on ps5? It's drastically better even when not playing the racing mode.

The desync in this game was atrocious on NA servers then they decided to kill the NA servers to make us play on EU servers... Well yea... Let it die.
ID: heqed2fWe can only join eu servers now? I played the game for about 4 hours total and deleted it within the first week.
ID: heqt0i1Yes the last big patch there was this summer due to the lack of players they closed the NA servers. No clue if anything as changed since then but im doubtful, i don't see this game doing good unless some major change or it going F2P.

The game needed weapons and slighty smaller arenas. Also some of the characters are unbalanced as fuck. As some have abilities that can take out other cars while others have useless abilities like going invisible

It just isn't going to happen unfortunately. The very core of this game is fundamentally flawed.
In a game about car "destruction", destruction is actually the least fun aspect of the game. No matter how you twist it, it will always go back to that central point.
