Are there any PS5 advantages if I replay the PS4 version, not Ditectors Cut?

ID: hf3ot8j4K 60fps, new equipment, a few new orders/missions, racetrack for time trials, and that's about it. Just overall QoL is a bit better in Director's Cut. I wouldn't stress about it if those things aren't a big deal.
ID: hf3p70oAwesome, thx. May replay

Slightly off topic but I started playing this the other day and I'm not sure if it's for me. I'm only a few hours in but the overabundance of cutscenes is grating on me, are there less cutscenes as the game moves beyond the 3 hour mark?
ID: hf3wvo5Oh you sweet summer child.
ID: hf45adfIt literally holds the record for most cutscenes, beating out metal gear solid 4
ID: hf4yrocThere are more cut scenes in DS than in Judgement? The latter was about 80% cut scenes.
ID: hf3zhg3The beginning is almost non stop cutscene. Once you get pas the first map youre just constantly playing with a few cutscene mixed in
ID: hf3wwltYes. You won't get another big round of cutsenes until the endgame
ID: hf4d4lsYes, the game is front loaded and back loaded with cutscenes with a few mixed in in the middle…
ID: hf4c1byFirst time on a Kojima game I assume? The Metal Gear series is 40% bizarre exposition.
ID: hf4coerThe game probably isn't for you. Nothing wrong with that but this game is all about the cutscenes for me
ID: hf4gse3Very few cutscenes in the middle of the game. They'll return a bit closer to the end. The fun of the game in my opinion comes from planning a route and deciding on the best way to get there.
ID: hf4rt08Slightly less but still a lot. It’s a Kojima game
ID: hf51t25Long cutscenes is like the one thing you could have counted on in a Kojima game before purchasing or knowing anything about it. The game really feels like it opens up when you move to the next section, however still plenty of cutscenes left, regardless of how they are spread throughout.
ID: hf5njyiNo, it gets heavier. I know not many people will like this, but if that aspect of the game is turning you off, you can opt out of it. Just play your own post apocalypse game, skip the cutscenes and make your own story in the world. The gameplay gets better and better as you progress.
ID: hf5oq5mYes there are less as you get further in, lots of unimpeded gameplay, I actually enjoyed the story and cutscenes in the watt game.
I’m missing them now in the later game.

The dude that replied to you didn’t really answer your question.
There is no update for PS4 version. It’s the same game in 30fps with no new content. So if you play that on PS5, you might as well be playing on PS4.
Director’s Cut is the PS5 upgrade. You can’t play the next-gen version without buying it.
