Fixed Issues
Driver timeouts may be experienced while playing a game & streaming a video simultaneously on some AMD Graphics products such as Radeon™ RX 500 Series GraphicsHUGE
ID: hff6kvfID: hfgb4beI was on this same boat until I swapped to a "drivers only" installation, since then I had zero issues and no black screens / crashes whatsoever. I tried the same drivers I'm currently using (21.7.1) and every release since (up to 21.9.2), and the damn thing won't go a week without a random driver timeout, black screen, crash, you name it.
I had to switch to afterburner in order to manage my fan curves, and I'm missing some nice stuff like anti-lag, sharpening and such, but I was really sick of AMDs garbage software: values resetting every other day, and crashing itself or my desktop every other week. So I'll take stability over half-assed features, it's a good enough tradeoff for my use case.
ID: hfg0v4yFinally!!!
ID: hffyndgFor real though.
ID: hfgo7g0I thought was my card dying lol
ID: hfgpi4qsame here lol ,bt did nt install yet a new release
ID: hfggh8tThat only took MONTHS
Oh look, it doesn't even work! What a surprise. Back to Windows drivers.

I know a lot of people have been looking forward to this, entirely because they've been pointing it out with every driver release. Hope this sorts it for them!

Indeed. Please let me know how it works.

Let's see shall we
AOC 24GU 1080p 144hz monitor & AOC Q3279VWF 1440p 75hz monitor.
Currently, I am running 21.8.2 as it still does give me 6-9 watt idle wattage but that's only at 100hz 1080p and 1440p 60hz. I'll report back.
EDIt: Yes, this driver does work, but for me it only works with the same settings as before - 1080p @ 100hz and 1440p @ 60hz. These are the highest hz I can get before the power usage goes to 33 - 36 Watts.
This should just work. , Will this ever be sorted out?
Will windows 11 help with newer WDDM?
ID: hffbfjeSadly on my system, I still can't get it to lower down with this driver and I was excited for this fix.
2x Asus VP249QGR 1080p 144hz monitorsTried lowest refresh rate (50 Hz)
Turning off FreesyncAre you using 2 Display Port connections?
ID: hffz8gsWhen monitor manufactures actually stick to a VESA spec for vertical blanking with high refresh. All the manufactures tend to run a bit out of the standard VESA spec, with it being as much as 000.01 off it can cause the issue and does not allow it properly drop the wattage at idle.
It's not a windows or wddm issue.
CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) will allow you to correct this.
ID: hfhzsmgUnfortunately this isn't a should just work type of thing.
Changing memory clock isn't like changing core clocks, it is a process and takes an extraordinary number of clock cycles. It can only be done during the monitors vblank period, else it will cause flickering. The higher the refresh rate goes, the shorter vblank becomes, making it impossible to change the memory clock without the aforementioned flickering.
ID: hffmmpwAlso worth noting that it's still actually an issue on a single monitor as well, I have a 170hz monitor, and at 144hz it doesn't happen, but 165 and 170, it does.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds™
DirectX® 12
Up to 11% increase in performance....So what are the chances that performance gains in one UE4 DX12 game carry over to another?
I'm playing Kena Bridge of Spirits right now and I wouldn't mind a couple more frames
ID: hfg6if0Completely depends on if it was an actual driver issue or game issue.
If it's a game issue (poor usage by devs) it's likely targeted to the exe and overriding some game logic/shader code.
If it's a driver issue where they optimized their code it could effect other games too.
ID: hff4p2vWho knows, for example Borderlands3 is an UEngine game and it runs better on AMD... so I highly doubt that this will carry over.

AC Origins is FIXED! Finally playable, no crashes whatsoever.
Still, use dxvk folks, almost double fps.
ID: hfi9tcpTruly!?

i see Battlefield 2042, i install
-
Just started playing Wreckfest and the foliage was driving me crazyyyy so this is relieving
-
Here's to hoping the Vega voltage bug is eventually fixed. I will forever hold out hope.

God dammit, Windows 11 keeps overwriting my gpu drivers with an older version and it drive me nuts. Do you guys have a solution for this ?
ID: hff2uxoDisable windows driver updates per group policy.
ID: hff9ps0you are also able to do it with a registry edit, ddu comes with a button with the option to disable the auto driver updates when u open it up
ID: hfgi2ugSettings > System > About > Advanced System Settings > Hardware tab > Device Installation Settings > NO
ID: hfhfheqHello, can you provide configuration info to investigate the affected SKU?
Please provide the following:
GPU/Laptop Brand/Model Hardware ID (See below for steps) INF File (See below for steps)Hardware ID
Open Device Manager Display Adapters > GPU > Right-Click > Properties Details > Hardware Ids Copy the first value Reply to this post with that value e.g. PCIVEN_1002&DEV_1638&SUBSYS_17221043&REV_C4INF File
Reproduce the issue first by letting the Windows Update driver overwriting the current driver Open Device Manager Display Adapters > GPU > Right-Click > Properties Driver Tab > Driver Details Search through Driver files and find the .INF number and reply to this comment with the .INF number e.g. u0370675.inf (Photo ExampleID: hffit0rUse windows 10

Keen to try out the lower memory speed issue, i have it bad with 4 monitors connected, runs at full speed all the time.
-
Is it just me or is my Sapphire RX580 Nitro running a bit hotter? Like I used to idle at 45 degrees with zero rpm mode on but now I am idling closer to 50 degrees with the fan turning on once in a while to bring it down to like 45 and then it slowly climbs back up. I have undervolted my gpu btw. I have done a ddu install so that can be ruled out.
-
It is sad that they do not give any love to the USB-C output... DAC still drops out when connected to USB-C of my RX6900XT
-
BF2024 beta, here I come!

I realize that most AMD GCN where left out from Windows 11
That is unfortunate, nvidia Maxwell and Pascal does support Windows 11, but my AMD R9 Fury does not (it was contemporary of nvidia Maxwell).
I guess this is the end of the road for FineWine
ID: hfg1nsrThere are modded drivers on Guru3D that will work for you.
R9-285+R9-380 (Tonga)/Fury (Fiji) and RX4/5xx (Polaris) are all the game GPU arch (GFX8) So it's unlikely that simply modding the drivers will stop working until they drop Polaris support.
Won't help in the long run for GFX6/7 though and anything prior has been gone for a long time.
ID: hfghyetI mean you but, on the other hand, you don't really need Win11 to fully use your system/GPU.
Win10 is here to stay, don't worry about that. It's not like developers are going to release games just for Win11, there's nothing really special and they won't cut out people just because Microsoft decided to release something new.
Also, optimizations for new games are going to point to the new RX series most probably. Just forget about it for now.

5700 XT multi-monitor high idle memory is still not fixed.

anyone with a older cpu tried these drivers?
i know 21.9.1 was problematic and had some install issues
I did report the problem but ive seen no evidence of it being resolved
-
Does this driver still crash the cpumetricserver.exe when whenever it's started?
Kept seeing this in the reliability monitor. And I couldn't fix it until I rolled back to the previous whql which was in August.
Because it keeps crashing, it means I can't access the CPU stats in Radeon software
-
After installing this update, I can no longer extend my displays, does anybody else have this issue and know how to fix it? I'm using an RX 590 if that helps.
-
Still have driver timeouts while streaming and playing the same time. -.- AMD 5700 XT
-
Is the in-game overlay fixed?
ID: hffhb1vWhat was wrong with it? Seems to work fine for me, with the exception of CPU Utilization always showing 0% no matter what. Ryzen 5 5600X / 6700XT.
-
Just installed and those options I had for my CPU within the Performance/Tuning tab are all gone now.
Now it's just options for the GPU, nothing for my Ryzen CPU
ID: hfghoy1Same here! (5900x and 6900xt)

Were radeon vii random blackscreens ever fixed?
The pc would be running normally then after a restart (ie turning off the pc then switching it on to use the next day) a black screen would occur. Usually a code 43 would show up in device driver or no video card driver would show up at all

Yeah this has been the source of many of my crashes.. Hopefully it applies to the 5700 XT too.
