- It looks like Bloodborne producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has joined Team Ninja.

This makes me even more excited for a Nioh 3.
ID: hfuq0pqID: hfuqeo6You are.
They currently are not working in it, but would like to do it in the future.
ID: hfyoj7bthings change
ID: hfuzi7oGood, because we really dont need another Nioh game
ID: hfuwg5pThat might be true but the LITERAL next game they are making is nioh 3 with a new skin lmao. I really hope they don’t become like omega force and just license out their ideas for bigger existing ips too…
ID: hfvdim4Sorry to hijack, but does nioh 2 take time to click?
I love every fromsoft game and figured I would love nioh as well but it wasn’t my experience
I beat the first 3 bosses, but I wasn’t really having fun playing the game. Found the enemies repetitive and loot system tedious, so I put it away. Wondering if it’s worth another shot…
ID: hfveseqIgnore nioh, just go to 2 and revisit 1 if you care to later. Its the far better game.
ID: hfvezzgConsidering I would call Nioh 2 one of the best games of all time, I may be biased but I will try to answer as fair as possible.
I bounced off Nioh 1 several times too before it clicked as well. It was really poorly balanced (especially early on) where you basically get 1-2 shot over and over. Nioh 2 still has this problem but not nearly to the same extent. It very clearly shows you what attacks will kill you quickly, and even gives you a really near mechanic to counter them. The potential for quickly being flattened is still there though.
Enemy variety is better, but it's not Dark Souls where you're fighting totally new enemies in every zone. You will be fighting scaled-up enemies from level 1 right up to the final boss.
The loot system is basically the same. Personally, it's one of the things that really makes it unique in the genre (and I love games like Diablo and Borderlands that shower you in loot) but I can also see why it's something that is a turn off. If this is a big sticking point, I'd advise you to think twice.
If you're still on the fence, I'd suggest taking a look at a few videos.
ACG review (goes into good detail):
Fextralife video on what is new in Nioh 2:
Hope this helps you, no matter what you decide!
ID: hfw76nfIf you weren't a fan three missions/bosses in, probably not. I like the game, but the enemy types don't get more varied and the loot system continues to be tedious.
ID: hfw8fzlI’m feeling the same right now with Nioh. But it’s still pretty fun but it’s not up to par with Fromsoft imo.
ID: hfvkdyeIf you feel it that way then its the same like mine. It takes time to click with its combat system, but yeah the gear grinding pisses me off
ID: hfvef5mIt gets better if you're enjoying the combat systems and want to see it expand.
Loot system can be fairly ignored until NG+, enemies variation is alright in my experience. I believe there's a setting in the options menu to only take high quality/purple loot or something. That should severely limit your need to pay attention to loot, just switch occasionally.
ID: hfw6pv3I wish Itagaki could come back for Nioh 3. The guy was an oddball but nothing has been as good as ninja gaiden black and 2 from a technical standpoint in the action genre. Seriously when you learn the ins and outs it’s like playing art
ID: hfys0nbPls don’t give me hope
ID: hfxf1ycI hate Nioh. We need a new Ninja Gaiden!!!

Looking good for Stranger of Paradise
-
Damn that’s a good get for Team Ninja, can’t wait to see what they do next. The Nioh series is easily one of the best new IP’s in recent times and Stranger of Paradise is already shaping up to be incredible so I can’t what to see what he adds to the team!
-
next move, sony buys Team Ninja.
-
Good for him.
He was of the bigger loses of talent when Sony “restructured” Japan studio.
I wish him the best.
(Tokyo jungle is rad and should be remastered)
ID: hfv4gs0He is just a producer so he likely just deals with money/budgets and timelines/schedules. Not sure about how talented he is.
ID: hfv89hcWow. You make it sound so easy.
Try assembling a top notch team, basically be a project manager of project managers, and put out a game as good as Bloodborne.
-
Loving stranger of paradise. I couldn’t get into nioh 1 but I’d prefer to play the remastered version. Just waiting for price to significantly drop.
ID: hfy928rYou can try checking your local Walmart if you have one, I was able to get the ps5 remastered Nioh collection for $50 instead of $70 and it’s a good deal for both games with all dlc
ID: hfyeswtHaha thanks. I’m probably waiting for it to drop to 20 or ps+. As I have too many games coming out every month. Waiting for my Metroid dread to arrive, but I’ll probably finish that and be bored for a month lol. I still need to re-beat horizon before the sequel comes out but I kinda lost motivation.
-
Going to have to play closer attention to Team Ninja. This news has made my interest in an eventual Nioh follow up/successor to skyrocket.
-
Holy shit. Let him work on ninja gaiden please. He can keep them in order! No over the top bad decisions just solid decisions that pull the whole experience together!
-
PS making some big moves…
ID: hfuwjnxBig moves by firing him, yes.
ID: hfuypzlNot much lost to be honest.
-
[deleted]
ID: hfutkk3What?
ID: hfuv0l9Just a hope for Bloodborne Kart I presume.
-
Shit about to go down!
-
Nioh 3 would be neat, but right now, all I can think about is CHAOS.
-
Someone in the other thread told me that everyone responsible for third party games was still at sony somewhere. Turns out sony dont care about japan after all.

If I’m not mistaken team ninja confirmed nioh 2 is the last of the series
