- GTA Trilogy Has 'High-Res Textures, Increased Draw Distances, and GTA 5 Controls' on PS5
-
The targeting and controls was the one thing I was hoping for
ID: hgrwqivID: hgrxbxeIsn’t that a port of the mobile port? I think the controls were better on the original than that version since they were really mobile controls adapted to work with a controller
-
Show me then...
ID: hgrrinzFuck the graphics (not really) SHOW THE SOUNDTRACK YOU COWARDS!
ID: hgsc3clI mean we all know what’s going to happen.
ID: hgs5s3zThat's why I'm getting it on PC so I can mod the soundtrack back in
ID: hgs7aoiNo Rise FM, NO FUCKING PURCHASE!!!
ID: hgskujwOh. Now I'm worried. I know vice city had a lot of licensed music. :]
ID: hgrgif4Say it again!
ID: hgrhwkvit again!

The controls are the real problem with the old games.
I tried going back and playing Vice City recently…… I have no clue how the hell I ever played this game back in the day. Clunky doesn’t begin to describe it.
ID: hgr5xe1rockstar needs to do away with the mashing X button to run nonsense, its ridiculous and feels like shit from 20 years ago. it cant be good for your thumb and it ruins the quality of the button since it deteriorates faster. I cant believe that such a large triple A publisher still uses this formula.
ID: hgrakhzGTA V and RDR2 let you change that in the settings
ID: hgr7he7Tbh I love to be able to walk with the stick completly tilted, it's more immersive and if you have to tilt it just a bit it's not precise and you end up running then stopping, or hopping, you know. I agree the X mash is kinda outdated tho, maybe a toggle setting
ID: hgr9jqqI’d replay these with new controls tbh.
ID: hgspabrA few years ago I bought Vice City for my Android tablet. Only had the touchscreen for controls. Talk about fucking impossible to play.
ID: hgr6ks9The leak (which I believe is straight from a Steam database update) also says GTA V style controls
ID: hgr87lqThe controls are still the problem with GTA 5. It's the worst controlling 3rd person shooter out there. They need to look at other games like The Division and Metal Gear Solid 5 and how those characters move. Both those games have their own flaws, but player control is the least of them.
-
im kinda worry about the radio stations . i hope its not altered or replaced
ID: hgrybtiWhat’s crazy is we’ll know as soon as we get control of our character in Vice City. If the song playing isn’t Billie Jean, they fucked it up.
ID: hgs2qzsI only listen to Lazlow anyways.
-
The controls dated this game. You can make an arguement the graphics dated it. But i can look past the visuals. What i cant look past is the feeling of not being in control of my character and not having fun with the gameplay itself. I really hope this is true. I never finished any of these games.
ID: hgrj44rYea the shooting in the 3D trilogy was like a mini game. Equivalent to when a game tells you to press X to do a contextual action
ID: hgrvy3mMan, you summed up my thoguhts exactly when playing older shooting games. The action in Uncharted 1 is boring af. Press R2 in enemies -> Reload -> Choose between 4 weapons (in the whole game) -> repeat. There's no different enemies types, or different guns (besides fire rate).
What is making me go through the game is the anticipation to play Among Thieves and A Thief's End
ID: hgrs42qExactly. All I wanted was updated controls and aiming.

GTA 3 is 20 years old next week and it's finally on a Nintendo system.
-
Improved with GTA 5 controls sounds like it could change the feel of the whole game. Look forward to seeing it how it looks!
-
I can't wait to hit the gym in San Andrea's lol
-
As someone who attempted to play Vice City on PS2 recently and found it quite a difficult experience, I'm personally really looking forward to getting this trilogy and playing them with up-to-date controls.
I played VC and SA a ton back in the day, but because I was a lot younger I generally just mucked about and never even attempted the story missions, so that will all be kinda new to me as well which is a bonus.
Of course, while not expecting groundbreaking differences, from this 'leak' I'm also excited to see how they've updated them visually.
ID: hgrashlInteresting.
I played them back in the day a ton too, so it still felt pretty natural to me control-wise.
Almost like a muscle memory with those games.
I wonder if it'll actually be a challenge with the new controls initially.
-
I just want to know if the soundtracks are going to include the originals. I can’t imagine cursing in Vice City without bark at the moon and other rock tracks.
-
Good for all the nostalgic players, hope it'll be worth it for them
ID: hgr80vwYeah I loved them growing up but nostalgia alone won't make them fun to play, at least for me. Had it been full on remake using UE engine as rumored before, then yeah that would be fun as fuck to play. Imagine Vice City with details of a modded GTA 5..
ID: hgrgthpUmm.. I've been playing a lot of Vice City lately. Sure the gameplay is a bit nasty but driving around listening to the radio stations is prime nostalgia. A ground up remake would be nice but I don't trust Rockstar to do it justice.
ID: hgr5hw2It’d be worth it for me at $20. I won’t pay more for it because I know I’ll spend only a couple of hours in each game.
-
I just want the rag doll physics & car physics/damage. But I doubt it lol
-
Really looking forwards to these. I've held off for so long avoiding buying them on sale for £4 over the last couple of years.
ID: hgr729jYou probably still should since they will be taken down after these remakes release
ID: hgr84o8They're already taken down
-
So it will be a 4k game with ps2 graphics...
-
Anyone else concerned that we haven't been shown a single screenshot yet? R* always hype up their releases way ahead of time yet for this they're keeping very tight lipped.
-
I have a nasty feeling that these games will be just bog standard up-res's with updated controls. Highly doubt they will be worth the asking price.
-
Still no fucking screenshots?!
-
Making already outdated textures high-res doesn’t actually do anything except highlight the poor quality. Just look at the Ezio Collection remasters of AC2 and Brotherhood. It’s all in 4K, but still looks pretty bad visually.
-
The controls make these games almost unplayable in their current form. You aim with R1 and shoot with circle I dont know how I played them back in the day.
-
If there are no modeling upgrade that's going to be a pass for me. They will be selling free mod that already exists. It's lazy af for a company that I used to admire
-
new controls could be really great. it's really needed imo.
-
If it was so good they would’ve showed something by now, just for the hype.
-
I was hoping for upgraded models not just textures. Who’s gonna wanna play 4K cube face it’s gonna look like Minecraft

Yeah,I tried to play vice city on PS3, but the controls made it unplayable. Glad they updated them
