Such an odd blend of sharp lighting and special effects yet ye olde chunky polygon characters. I don't think I've seen that style before.

ID: hhmryprMe too. Reminds me of some remakes of retro 2D games, keeping a cartoon-ish style. It fits the nostalgia and how we perceived games as a child. Making it look like GTA 4 or 5 would be bad, IMO.

The foliage in that GTA SA scene looks mighty impressive! Also, Claude's melancholic driving in that rain is a vibe.

ID: hhmha10Not sure about the mini airplane missions in Vice City, but the ones in San Andreas aren't compulsory, thank God. I could never complete those as a kid.

Got to admit, I’m impressed at how good they were able to make the games look.
ID: hhm4lsrYeah, I was really skeptical when I heard they were keeping the original graphics with minor enhancements. This seems like a great compromise. It captures the charm of the originals, while making the games nice to look at. I'm curious to know the details on the soundtracks.

I’m not sure I would have liked it if they just went with bland 2021 photorealism instead.

They should really remaster GTA IV, easily the best story of the franchise imo

Now that I’ve seen what we are getting, I can finally be very excited for this release. Honestly it looks really good, combined with the in game improvements including setting waypoints on the map I’m happy.
The only other thing I’d like to see confirmed is whether or not the original soundtrack is still there.

Holy crap I wasn't expecting this much of an upgrade. They clearly went in and redid the models and environments, faces have better animation, hands have individual fingers. Buildings have more detail. Wow. I was just expecting the same thing in higher resolution like PCSX2, maybe some redone textures. But this is a pretty big overhaul. Not quite as much as stuff like Crash Bandicoot and Demon's Souls remakes though.

Honestly, I love it. I know people are expecting a GTA V modded realism but these look true to the original games. Updated textures/lighting, but not a full remake. Just hope the shooting mechanics are tweaked as well.
ID: hhm9ijsSame. I’m kind of surprised. It’s nice to look it. It looks like they restored the PS2 orange glow that San Andreas had. I love it for that alone. I’m just hoping they keep a good amount of the soundtracks.

It actually looks more different than I expected, mostly due to lighting and texture material changes. The changed character models surprised me, but maybe its just new high rez face textures? Im curious how they hold up as I have not played them in ages, especially with the control changes. Might pick it up eventually when its at a comfortable price, I'm not in a hurry. Will be nice to have a modern version on PS thats not a terrible port. Now if only Bully got some love.

I really dig the charicaturized looks, it's not like they could just make them look realistic so they did what they could to make them look good and it worked imo. I'm interested in trying updated 3 and VC (since i'm already biased towards SA and can play the original fine) but absolutely not for full price.

Now that the controls are updated and the same for each game you can play them all in timeline order for a better experience now, VC - SA - GTA III

Yeah, this is like 300 hrs of gameplay. It’s a buy. I LOVE these games. Having better controls and upgraded visuals is absolutely a selling point too. They’ve not aged well.
Also, I’ve fucking missed Tommy and CJ man.
