6900xt XTXH worth 300 usd over 6800xt?

1 : Anonymous2021/10/22 14:37 ID: qdiacu

I found an MSI 6900xt Gaming Z Trio which has the xtxh chip selling for 1800usd. Is it worth over 1500usd Asus TUF 6800xt? Yeah here in our country the prices are ridiculous. We can't get any reference or near MSRP.

Yeah, but are there any other RX6900XT models cuz MSIs AMD cards suck pretty much due no good contact of the die.

Asus TUF, Sapphire Nitro+ SE, Asrock Phantom Gaming D are similarly priced here. The Gigabyte gaming OC is $200 cheaper.

Get the Nitro SE then

I have had more issues with Asrock than any other company. Highly not recommended

That can easily be fixed with a washer mod I got a red devil 6800 xt which had decent hotspot temps 87c fully oc to 2700 mhz core clock adding washers reduced hotspot temps to 78c.

$1800 is what the air cooler xtxh sell for retail here too (US) its their "msrp" for non ref stuff. Water and some "fancy" models seem to be 2k+. Nvidia stuff is even more bonkers.

A ref card at ref prices is basically a lottery and waitlists/lines/etc, you might spend a lot of free time chasing one down and still not get anything.

My free time is precious so I said fuckit. A lot of "lucky" people are probably not so honest about the effort they spent to get lucky. (Human nature tbh - gloat over "profit", handwave expense) If you're going for broke on gpus might as well go for the top models.

These are the times we're in, sigh.

Yeah man I work nearly 60 hours a week. I've been trying to get my hands on a 3080 since last december. It wasn't a constant effort but it's very frustrating to be on these wait lists, seeing restocks sell out in seconds. I actually "bought" a 3090 at msrp on amazon but then cancelled because it was a junky model and seemed insane to pay double what I wanted to pay.

Fast forward 6 months and I said screw it. Just picked up an air cooled XTXH. I would have preferred a $700 dollar card but if I'm going to pay double on a 3080 or 6800xt, I might as well spend the extra $300 and get that added 10-20% performance. In my mind life is short and I'd much rather be playing Flight Simulator over the next year than sitting around trying to "get lucky."

Newegg has ASRock XTXH for $1630

Still huh, thought that was a quick sale. Thats kind of a good "deal" for a top end model considering most other brands normal XT cards are more.

Someone needs to tell them their aesthetics guy is colorblind though.

most definitely, if you're willing to spend 1500 anyway and can afford it

MSRP is not real at this point in time.

Then by that definition, no card is over priced

overpriced is your own judgement. because you find it overpriced doesn't mean everyone does or should. I bought mine way above original MSRP (from Newegg direct) and haven't regretted a second of it

Oh my mistake, shot you info for the states.

If there is no other option, that isn't far off what XTXH chips go for here in the US.

Probably if the extra $300 isn't a big deal for you.

7 : Anonymous2021/10/22 14:40 ID: hhmix3z

Anything above MSRP is not worth it. Do not encourage scalpers.

I bought my 6800xt ref for 1100 instead of 650. Havent regretted it at all, had a dying rx580

Worth it is person by person

8 : Anonymous2021/10/22 16:43 ID: hhn18hp

No, not that one. The X variant had high hotspot temps and the coler remained the same. Only bother with water cooled variants.

I have TUF 6800XT. It runs cool AF, looks awesome and beats the shit out of everything I run. I paid 1300 USD shipped from Newegg. No ragrets.

10 : Anonymous2021/10/22 18:06 ID: hhndf23

totally, 6900xt are great, if you have the cash in hand to throw at them

11 : Anonymous2021/10/22 18:14 ID: hhnep8i

This stuff is all weird now with how screwed the market is. I lucked into a reference RX 6800XT last November at MSRP. To me anything over $900 is way more than the card is worth to me.

Value depends on the person, but if I had not acquired the card before the price increases I would have just sold the build parts that I had at the time. People are paying $500 for 5 year old cards that perform worse than the new consoles.

It’s just wild times that a variant of my GPU is costing more than my entire system.

12 : Anonymous2021/10/22 20:21 ID: hhnx7et

If you have a 6800xt, no, if you don't, yes

13 : Anonymous2021/10/22 20:31 ID: hhnymj2

If you are already considering spending 1500 for not even the best binned chip you may as well get the 1800 but I wouldn't buy either.

Worth is what it means to u really. If you’re just a gamer you’re not going to see much of a difference between the 6800xt and 6900xt. If you’re the type of person who likes to show their tech balls, and get every inch of performance as far as numbers most people don’t even understand and want every solitary point out of 3dmark then buying the 6900 is kinda what u have to do lmao. But I mean the 6900xt price to performance wise isn’t a heck of a lot different than the 6800xt from what I understand for what I was using it for so I went with the 6800xt. I mean for gaming my build is the most powerful I ever had with this new card. 170-200 FPS in warzone not overclocked. Max1440 settings. Better optimized games like doom eternal I get 500, csgo 500, I could go on and on but if you’re just gaming the 6800xt is powerful as hell for any game these days and powerful enough for games coming in the near and distant future for sure. Ask around here what the FPS difference you’ll get with the 6900xt. Another 10? 15? When u already got 200 plus in most games. That’s my take
