- 5950x ideal temps? Is my idle temp too high? Water cooled setup.

Use HWiNFO better. What programs were you running while you had Core Temp open?
ID: hhniomeID: hhnjac0I'm seeing.
CPU (Tctl/Tdie): 87 C CPU Die (average (85C) CPU CCD1 83 Core temp 77.
My PC just powered off randomly which is why I decided to check temps and question things.
ID: hhnjpk4Did you put this system together yourself? If so, did you remember to remove the protective plastic from the base of your heat sink? I have a 5900X and my idle is ~50 and absolute max when benchmarking is 84, though I am using an AIO cooler so the temps drop back down the second the load is off the CPU. Under normal conditions, ie running a game with Spotify in the background I usually don't see higher than 70.

Replace your AiO with a good air cooler. Less problems, less risk, and often enough better performance.

Two of the three of my front fans have died. I think my temps made more sense once I took my side panel off.

Hard to tell from your pic.
You want about 40c at idle with peaks. Peaks can be 75c due to the CPU boosting.
Your max is totally fine, if that was while running CB23
Make sure your AIO doesn't have the pump in the lowest speed, test that. More water flow tames the peaks considerably.
My h115i Pro with the pump in silent mode (1100RPM) is a joke and cannot cool anything. Is good in Balanced mode (2100RPM).

Did you switch from chassis fan to water pump in the bios on the header you powered the pump from? Maybe the pump is not getting enough juice to spin as it should be. Sounds as if the thermal sensor shut the pc down as the cpu temp climbed up.

like 9 chrome windows (lots of tabs), an instance of Unreal Engine 4 editor (minimized) and Slack. But you can see the load isn't that heavy in that picture.
