I recently turned my old desktop into a headless server and have the GPU (XFX RX580) sitting on a shelf with no real intention to ever use it again. Is this still a relevant GPU in 2021/22?
-
580 8Gb have been going for 400-500 USD near me. Still a mining card of choice.
ID: hicrus4ID: hidcco7Yes, sell it. Do it now.
ID: hidcbo1You should.
Could sell it and possibly find a GTX 980ti/GTX 1070 for less money than you’ll sell it for.
If not, it’s an old card you have laying around anyways you don’t need that bad, I’d take the $350 cash over that haha.
ID: hidzjc3Sell it now! The GPU prices are crazy high right now.
ID: hifzydoI wish it was possible to still get the card at $170. It's fucking bullshit that the 580 is being scalped the way it is and budget gamers being raped by miners and scalpers. And the people here aren't helping by encouraging mining and scalping.

Still kicking strong. I'm using rx580 armor 8gb and it runs majority of the games at 1080p med-high details and averagely around 60fps.
ID: hifb29pYep. It still works great for me at 1080p, especially since I don't always play the newest games. I sometimes do, but they've been well-optimized, like RE8, Death Stranding, and Doom Eternal.
-
Sell it if you don't need it. Easy cash
-
It's still a good 1080p card. If you have a PowerColor, Sapphire, or ASRock model, they tend to be one of the better ones.
-
Most games will run fine on the RX580 at 1080. Only the most demanding games will struggle, Cyberpunk etc...
If its 8GB, they are worth a lot to sell, as they mine crypto well.
ID: hidw3e9I play cp on the rx580 at 60fps
-
Yeah, my mate has one and he can play all the new games. It's more relevant than my 1050ti is
-
If you are a miner - very relevant.
If you are gamer who has no GPU - super relevant.
If you are a millionaire - not relevant at all 😀

$$$$$$$
all you seem to respond to.
the card has been relevant for quite some time and will be for some time into the future.
-
Probably pretty similar to the 8gb RX 480 which I've got. It's still a pretty potent 1080p card and runs light VR like a champ.
-
I'm still using it now and still feels solid for me, just a casual 1080p gaming, I have no plans upgrading (unless my card brokes down; hopefully not) I'm using Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 8gb
ID: hifbq1kI was afraid I was having some problems with mine, but it was just a weird HDMI cable. I don't plan on upgrading for at least another year.
-
I'm playing Far Cry 6 at 1080p on High preset (medium shadows) at around 60fps on mine. Pretty relevant. Sucks at Cyberpunk though.
ID: hifbf1cCyberpunk is just poorly optimized, so it's not the card's fault. My 580 struggles with Escape from Tarkov as well, but that game is just a poorly-optimized game built upon the Unity engine. Otherwise, other modern and well-optimized games run well on this card, like RE8 and Doom Eternal.
ID: hiftgc6Oh yeah, I was fully expecting to have to upgrade and dreading it with the crazy prices right now but the 580 just keeps going. Fantastic little card. Even Horizon ran well.
-
Great 1080p card still. Would i buy it new? Probably not.
Would i try to upgrade if i owned one in the current market? Hell to the fuck no.
-
I sold one recently for £500 so if you don't want to use it sell it on while the prices are high
-
A beast, pushing 70-110fps in bfV 3440x1440p on low which is still pretty good.
-
Its a very capabile GPu for 1080P
-
It is definitely relevant to me as I don't play latest-gen AAA titles... I have a 580 and despite the PoS MSI Armor Mk. 2 cooler being a PoS it handily whooshes through all the workloads I throw at it.
-
Is it relevant to you? Does it run your games or w.e? It's not that old
-
1080p plays any games at custom high settings aa off 60fps except HZD, CB2077. Going STRONG

damn. I bought the thing new in 2019 for $170. I might have to sell it if I can get that kinda cash for it
