Little Devil Inside | State of Player New Trailer

I am still so excited for this, and I love what I'm seeing, but the overworld map was a bit of a surprise.

It looks a bit too slow. It's one thing to travel and chill out on a big map in third person where the world is more engaging, but here I'm just sort of bored watching those little figures bobble and I've only seen 2 minutes of it.

In the original pitch they really stressed the feeling of a journey over a minimal landscape, it must not have tested well.

I agree, I think the game looks like it could be good fun and it's still on my 'wishlist' at present but share the concern that the cutesy animations will drag on too long and be encountered too frequently during gameplay and they'll switch from being a nice detail to becoming a barrier to enjoying the rest of the game (and I say this as someone who is happy playing slow-paced games if I find the story and art-style interest).

ID: hiattq8

Yeah hopefully they have a speed up option

3 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:36 ID: hiauq72

For people more interested in this there has been some sporadic gameplay footage.

4 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:24 ID: hiasxm8

This game... was not what I expected

ID: hiauuvw

Yeah, I agree, it looked better before

ID: hib36co

Totally agree, not sure what's happened here, looks like an entirely different game now! Been looking forward to this for a while based on the older trailers and this doesn't interest me at all.

ID: hiawc0v

It looks like the game went backwards in terms of scope? Previous gameplay videos have shown it with all sorts of overworld exploration and stuff and this video showed…..little tiny sprites moving across a board?

It feels like this game and the devs are stuck in some sort of dev hell, it was originally announced as a WiiU game.

ID: hiav4gd

I thought it was just me. Somehow the OG trailer made it look fun. This just looks like some bland, papercraft, quirkiness where nothing happens.

The world overview with the bobble heads didn’t do it for me. Hoping there’s less of that and more of in person. Curious but want to see more.

ID: hid35h5

Yes, I sincerely hope that studio sees this and takes it as a constructive feedback.

6 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:25 ID: hiat0qk

Best thing shown at the state of play but...that's not really saying much..

ID: hiatzxt

Death's Door PS release is the only other good thing.

ID: hiaugvm

And Bigsnax

ID: hiav7aj

You should look the Five Nights at Freddy subreddit after the new trailer, it's basically new year celebration there.

ID: hib55ma

I'm not even a FNAF fan outside of the lore, but I'm excited for Security Breach since it seems more than just a jump scare simulator now.

ID: hiave76

If I start looking into any FNAF subs please find me and put a bullet in me.

ID: hibndhy

FNAF fans are serious business. I will never get into it, but it has devoted fans.

ID: hic1kz4

I'm slowly realizing that FNAF trailer was probably the entire reason for this State of Play, and boy does that shatter my worldview a little.

7 : Anonymous2021/10/27 22:07 ID: hiaz7yi

It looks very nice! Can't wait to play my own Rural England Simulator.

8 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:31 ID: hiatzp3

I wonder if the game will be about scripted events or more like open world/survival.

9 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:26 ID: hiat7gh

Why even show the trailer without release date...

Edit: Shit Im blind, there was 2022 at the end

Edit 2: Fuck no, in the state of play there is nothing but on yt the trailer has 2022 in it so I was right

10 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:25 ID: hiasyin

No release date??

11 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:26 ID: hiat7ul

In the back of my mind I was hoping for a Nintendo like ‘out today’ to blow everyone’s minds

12 : Anonymous2021/10/27 22:25 ID: hib1ra9

The graphics and gameplay style look absolutely phenomenal. I expect big things from this game

13 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:36 ID: hiaund8

If you spend most of your time in that doll view Im gonna be really disappointed. They did not show this at all in the first trailer (probably for good reason)..

14 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:29 ID: hiatnfv

First time hearing about this game. It looks interesting but I did not like the UI.

The minimalist inventory menu that was just skinny white lines made it difficult to tell what was what.

When white text would pop up on screen, it could be on top of a bright background making it a strain to read.

And finally the text boxes were way too small to make out. Straining my eyes to read them on the same TV I play my PS5 on.

I understand it could be vastly different in the actual game but it didn’t look great to me.

ID: hibba4z

Whaaat, i absolutely loved the UI, it's so clean. But I get your criticism.

ID: hidw8sq

I upgraded to a bigger tv a few years ago because I was tired of straining to read video game text. I watched this trailer and could barely read any of it! I hope there will be an option to make it bigger. Otherwise, how big of a tv am I gonna need to get to be able to play games comfortably on my couch?! And why do new games make the text so small?!

15 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:26 ID: hiat7gb

This actually looks really interesting. I'm intrigued.

16 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:25 ID: hiat3fv

Interesting to make this the highlight of the show.

Over all, underhelming State of Play. I was at least expecting Forspoken stuff.

ID: hiaudmb

That's a first party game, yes? This was advertised as a showcase of 3rd parties

ID: hiaurda

Forspoken is from Square-Enix, so third party. Every first party game is exclusive but not every exclusive is a first party game (rule of thumb).

17 : Anonymous2021/10/28 02:20 ID: hibxjhm

World overview reminds me a little bit of Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

18 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:32 ID: hiau4e9

The whole look reminds me of oldschool FFVII

19 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:26 ID: hiat5rv

Hoping you can open travel in 3rd person rather than be forced to go around the over world in the doll view...

Otherwise still pretty excited.

ID: hiatgsf

That's gonna be it, making a whole open world like that is a different project all on its own

20 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:37 ID: hiautnw

Pretty disappointed that they've opted for this figurine, budget, map traversal instead of it being open world as originally promised.

I'm pretty sure this game has and is currently in development hell.

ID: hid36mg

When did they promise open world?

21 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:27 ID: hiatb6c

Is there anything else related to the multiplayer aspect mentioned on the Wikipedia page? An old interview mentions local co-op, but most of the footage that’s been shown looks solely single player (which I’m fine with, but playing with my partner would be fun)

22 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:27 ID: hiatbt6

This looks really interesting. But no release date?

23 : Anonymous2021/10/27 21:35 ID: hiaukrm

So it's an exploration/survival/action game?

24 : Anonymous2021/10/27 22:36 ID: hib3bdf

No release date?

I was hoping we would AT LEAST get that after all this time!

ID: hibh8g6

The YT video has 2022 at the end of it fwiw

25 : Anonymous2021/10/27 22:55 ID: hib5zkb

I'm liking what I'm seeing overall, but the overworld map doesn't seem like an engaging traversal system.

26 : Anonymous2021/10/27 23:13 ID: hib89z3

I really love the minimalist UI. So much easier to tell what was what at a glance.

27 : Anonymous2021/10/28 03:35 ID: hic6xlh

This and Kena are the games im most excited to play besides most of Sony's AAA games...I really wish i was aware of the Kickstarter when that was a thing...

28 : Anonymous2021/10/28 13:50 ID: hidpkwb

This is a two brownie kind of game
