That's very cash money of them

ID: hjeje5c

Merry cash money, and a happy new gear to everyone.

ID: hjh7yam

Are we saying 'cash money' again?

considering how easy is to implement FSR, hope it will become a standard for all AAA in next future. FC6 is a really bad optimized game but FSR worked great.

ID: hjed8jm

iirc Xbox is supposed to get FSR support soon

ID: hjedlmk

in theory both ps5 and seriesX/S could get FSR being all of them based on same/similiar AMD architecture. But do really consoles need FSR? I don't think so... most of games use already a 4k upscaling technology for 60fps performance mode usually native rendered at 1440p (that is basically the native resolution of FSR ultraquality and DLSS quality)

ID: hjf4mh2

It already has it. It's already implemented into the Xbox GDK; developers just have to implement it into the games.

ID: hjh18ga

Both Xbox and PlayStation have titles currently using FSR.

ID: hjfildt

Really depends on the resolution - I play on 1080p so whenever possible I enable DLSS to Quality mode, which to be honest is great because it looks literally the same to me as native 1080p while still providing some fps boost.

FSR on the other hand made FC6 look like shit imo.

ID: hjfpirb

I don't know, FSR didn't look that hot in FC6. Even at the highest quality mode, it made faraway objects look like a smudgy mess. In my short time with it, I spotted a ton of visual artifacts introduced by FSR, especially temporal frame trails. It's not terrible but it's not great either.

ID: hjgukqj

especially temporal frame trails. I

Well that's a TAA artifact, not FSR?

ID: hjgm1tg

Standard Ubisoft. I will give them credit that even though it won't properly utilize resources... it improperly utilizes them more consistently than the last games.

ID: hjeuzt0

Just put it in the driver software, it's good enough even with 3rd party software.

ID: hjfbyk4

Eh, I'll take DLSS over FSR any day, but I have an RTX card that can do it.

ID: hjftzr0

Might as well just turn up your monitors sharpening because that's all FSR does.

ID: hjgeids

You can literally replicate FSR via the NVCP by using GPU scaling and sharpening it. That's how basic FSR is.

ID: hjef4gp

FC6 is a really bad optimized game but FSR worked great.

While its CPU optimization leaves much to be desired, and Denuvo , the piece of dogshite software that it is isnt helping it, FC6 isnt poorly optimized.

People mistake demanding and decadent settings for poor optimization .

ID: hjeff0j

fc6 has single thread issues, that basically mean poor optimization.

Really nice of Nvidia not to cut off fsr when there is dlss... Wish a certain company could be more consumer friendly

ID: hjh19vp

Yeah, and Horizon ZD and and a bunch of high profile ports have suffered in the process. For a company that screamed tooth and nail about software equality and freedom to the players (AMD), this sudden turn is ironic. I guess it's more about making the competition's customers suffer, than giving us the best ports possible.

ID: hjer1cm

For them this is literally free advertising. It just shows how much better DLSS is.

ID: hjer6rh

DLSS is better but I have no problem using FSR. I just wish AMD would let dlss be a thing in their sponsored games like Nvidia.

ID: hjf6e8o

Nvidia likely wants every game with DLSS to have FSR, because it just helps them build mindshare when people with modern GPUs can see the results of both first hand.

Having both options is good for those who have older GPUs that don't support the new tech, but it is detrimental for AMD in the long run when the competitor's tech runs that much better; It makes even more difficult to steal marketshare when the feature set is stacked against them.

ID: hjfjxp9

Yup, unlike AMD who's blocking DLSS from their sponsored titles.

ID: hjevqmn

Ikr? I LOVE FSR! Smooth fps with my gtx 1060 6gb in back 4 blood at 1440p 144hz in balanced setting. 🙂

ID: hjeymnm

Funny how you think AMD is preventing games from using dlss, when in reality the developers don't want to spend the time to implement it into their engines.

That's the problem with proprietary solutions.

5 : Anonymous2021/11/05 11:20 ID: hjegz3e

now we need to run FSR + Dlss together to run the game in 8k 60 fps (joke)

ID: hjeqz2b

Add in XeSS and we can run 16k60. With checkerboarding we can do 32k60.

ID: hjf2zab

He's too dangerous to be kept alive.

ID: hjfdrds

How about 1080p 6000fps though?

ID: hjh7b15

Wait that's illegal

6 : Anonymous2021/11/05 13:01 ID: hjerify

My 1660 Super approves

7 : Anonymous2021/11/05 13:33 ID: hjeviaa

Awesome!! After experiencing amd fsr via back 4 blood with my gtx 1060 6gb at 1440p 144hz it was flawless! I hope the rest of the PlayStation PC games will support amd fsr. 🙂

ID: hjf48ns

That game runs quite well without any kind of scaling necessary. I use DLSS in it solely because it's better AA than their AA they have as options, and it runs damn near at idle temps on my 3090.

ID: hjfpg7x

Back 4 Blood actually has great TAA despite me hating TAA theirs is way better than industry standard. Back 4 Blood I would never use DLSS on especially if u have a 3090 where u should be getting 200fps at 4k on.

Sadly Halo Infinite's TAA is pretty shit (atleast in beta) so FSR is gunna be over sharpened in Infinite.

ID: hjewupa

😀

8 : Anonymous2021/11/05 13:53 ID: hjey4y6

Sounds good. I've tried Ultra FSR in Back 4 Blood, and I can't really tell the difference between it and native. That said, given that it's a more fast-paced action game, I'd rather have the extra frames even if I could notice, since it's not like I'm stopping to stare at things anyways.

9 : Anonymous2021/11/05 16:12 ID: hjfj1w3

I was confused why they would implement Nvidia DLSS but not AMD FSR... good 🙂

10 : Anonymous2021/11/05 11:43 ID: hjej414

Good for NV, I guess, that they have motion vectors ready.

FSR is very low effort.

11 : Anonymous2021/11/05 10:58 ID: hjef1ra

It would be swell if it supported XeSS too.

12 : Anonymous2021/11/05 11:16 ID: hjegm6s

So... can you use both at the same time?

ID: hjf0jb1

Probably not, enabling one usually locks out the other one.

13 : Anonymous2021/11/05 13:50 ID: hjexqac

But...... does it support radeon hd 6570?

14 : Anonymous2021/11/05 16:44 ID: hjfnzbw

thats very based of them, i was already gonna buy it but now im gonna be extra happy

15 : Anonymous2021/11/05 20:06 ID: hjgjufh

The thumbnail LMAO xD

16 : Anonymous2021/11/05 14:44 ID: hjf5hos

Both being supported by the same game is always a welcome one, hopefully every game developers continues to follow this trend.

17 : Anonymous2021/11/05 12:46 ID: hjeprdo

How come so many dumb people are posting today? What happened to this sub?

18 : Anonymous2021/11/05 19:13 ID: hjgbcwv

And somehow . . . the AMD folks will still think FSR is a competitor to DLSS?

19 : Anonymous2021/11/05 13:10 ID: hjeskpc

I hope they keep doing it like this, the worst thing would be for FSR to kill DLSS.

ID: hjfl9c2

That won't happen, most if not all Nvidia gamers will prefer DLSS, so ~70% of the market right now.
