Maybe you have won the super-hyper-mega silicon lottery.

ID: hko570l

what is that? i don't really understand,

ID: hko8c5n

Not all processor silicon is equal. Some processors just barely pass certification, while others exceed it exponentially. It's basically luck-of-the-draw as to which one you get.

Think of it like a cookie.

You make cookie dough, and you put little balls of cookie dough on your baking sheet. Even though the recipe is the same, every single cookie that comes out of the oven will be different. And a batch you made today might be similar but also taste slightly different from the one you made a year ago. But it’s still the same recipe so you call it your cookie name.

But some cookies will be smoother, some will have more cracks. Some might be bigger or smaller than others. You keep the ugly ones to eat yourself and only bring the pretty ones to the christmas party.

Fuck! I knew i lost one of my souvenirs after travelling to 2096 . Whatever you do , do not open minecraft please.

If you didn't overclock it, it means that windows is broken, so nothing unusual.

ID: hkn3fjx

At this point I feel like incorrect CPU clocks in Task Manager should just be considered working as intended it's been broken for so long.

ID: hknq46o

so nothing unusual

Time to switch to Linux

I see this comment on every single Reddit post nowadays lol. Minor inconvenience with windows? L I N U X T I M E

Did you turn fmax on in bios?

ID: hkmvm6v

good question

ID: hkpj0uh

Quick unrelated question, do you know off hand the highest temperature your 5800X has reached with the U12A while playing games?

6 : Anonymous2021/11/14 20:41 ID: hkmtiah

Hypervisor support breaks the clock speed monitor in Task Manager. It's done so for years. There's even a support article on it.

7 : Anonymous2021/11/14 18:06 ID: hkm4eq3

Go home Task Manager, you're drunk!

ID: hkmjwbx

“Do you know how fast you were going?”

“Uhhh 207 MPH?”

ID: hkmnid8

12900k on Gigabyte mobo be like:

"Ughhh... 8 gigahertz?"

ID: hko4udx

Just like his daddy, file copying window.

8 : Anonymous2021/11/14 18:38 ID: hkm9mpy

Use Hwinfo64 or ryzen master. check task manager to see if something is running in the background. Like parasitic rgb software.

ID: hkmw3t7

so cowardly that someone would downvote you here, with no comment to go with it.

On a separate note, I only use HWinfo64. I deleted Ryzen Master. It caused me huge problems when I changed RAM timings in that program, but other people may have a better time,

And with HWinfo64, I had to Disable Monitoring for all things related to RAM, so roughly 20 things, in the sensors area.

Once I did that, I had far far fewer issues in ICue with the RAM. Almost 100% fixed now that the those particular sensors have had their Monitoring disabled in HWInfo64.

and I absolutely love HWinfo 64

I have it customized heavily now.

ID: hkn6mkq

Hi! I love the idea of being able to make my monitoring software look great.

Firstly, is this the correct software?

And secondly, do I need any other software to customize it?

Thanks very much for your time!

ID: hkmwsgy

To add to this, many monitoring softwares break when using multiple qt the same time, so only have one open taskmanager or other monitoring software.

9 : Anonymous2021/11/14 19:02 ID: hkmdjro

If only.

10 : Anonymous2021/11/15 01:38 ID: hknz7w7

That’s it…. You’ve already won… Squid Games is over

11 : Anonymous2021/11/14 23:28 ID: hkni4gm

and my task manager says my cpu is at 100% but my gpus at 0% while playing cp77

ID: hkntbe8

well... it ain't wrong

12 : Anonymous2021/11/15 03:44 ID: hkofg5t

Lucky, you got the 5900x crack edition

13 : Anonymous2021/11/15 05:33 ID: hkor5b5

So that's where my gigahertz went -_-

14 : Anonymous2021/11/14 19:29 ID: hkmhy0o

Damn you wanted the silicon lottery!

15 : Anonymous2021/11/14 18:37 ID: hkm9fk5

it probably caught the frequency rising edge b4 it clocked itself down

ID: hko3xnx

It wouldn’t hit that speed.

Mf got that arctic water cooling

18 : Anonymous2021/11/14 21:12 ID: hkmy2zo

it's not a tool you should depend on for information such as this.

It is only trustworthy to get a (very) rough idea of what may be running.

19 : Anonymous2021/11/14 22:18 ID: hkn8awz

And that's why you should never trust Task manager! For actual correct readings of all kinds of stuff I recommend Hardwareinfo64.

20 : Anonymous2021/11/14 22:23 ID: hkn90ed

Yeah this happens to my 4690k because I have it overclocked to 4.2ghz with speedstep enabled, for some reason that combination confuses the task manager.

If I disable one or the other it works just fine.

Subtle flex

23 : Anonymous2021/11/14 23:48 ID: hknku0v

That's around 2 GHz faster than what my fx8350 is running at

24 : Anonymous2021/11/14 23:50 ID: hknl50b

windows 11?

25 : Anonymous2021/11/14 23:52 ID: hknlfqp

There is a bug in windows to show the true CPU speed

26 : Anonymous2021/11/15 00:43 ID: hkns5mn

Aside from overall load, task manager doesn’t know what the hell a zen3 chip is doing.

27 : Anonymous2021/11/15 02:19 ID: hko4nt4

If you could get a stable 5.96GHZ pretty sure you would be able to make some benchmark records lol.

28 : Anonymous2021/11/15 02:36 ID: hko6wx2

Wired flex but ok

29 : Anonymous2021/11/15 02:47 ID: hko8agw

What does the BIOS show?
