Activision Reaches Sad New Low With Workplace Committee Plans
2 : Anonymous2021/11/23 06:26 ID: hlqn1bm

Hey, they tried.... /s

But placing board members in charge of your workplace committee is not how you run a board member committee.

That's how you hope to "Venus fly-trap" and deport unhappy members of staff who are gullible enough to trust a committee of board members who's job is to report directly to Kotick.

ID: hlsgcai

You can tell they don’t give a shit, because they kept the same bastard in charge

ID: hlsz7fj

when the bastard in question owns over 4 mil shares of the company and resides on the board himself... theres not much anyone can do if he doesnt decide to leave himself tbh

3 : Anonymous2021/11/23 10:27 ID: hlr4heo

"The board has investigated members of the board and found the board has done nothing wrong."

ID: hlslv2u

HEY! Y'all wanna go get drunk and do some lines in the Cosby suite?!

4 : Anonymous2021/11/23 12:32 ID: hlre623

This is the most jargon-y corporate bullshit release I’ve ever seen. With all of those words, it doesn’t actually say shit, and they know it. They’re hoping it reads well enough so that non-corporate laypeople think it actually has meaning.

Setting aside the fact that the foxes are implementing a fix to the hen house perimeter, the TL;DR is basically “we plan to have a plan. We appointed people to help figure it out and maybe even hire other outside people to help them, too, if they want. Or maybe not. We’ll see”

ID: hls8jrs

Lmfao thanks man. That's some shit right there.

5 : Anonymous2021/11/23 05:53 ID: hlqk15d

This is pathetic, they should all resign with the 0.0000000000000000001% respect they somehow got left.

ID: hlqn3us

Yep.. Their stocks and dignity seen to be on negative parallel trajectory

ID: hlr6nv8

Hey, I think you've missed a few extra zeros between "." And "1".

6 : Anonymous2021/11/23 07:14 ID: hlqqzmw

Boycott these bellends.

ID: hlqskq2

Haven't bought an Acti Blizz game since the Hong Kong incident and I don't plan on it any time soon.

Fuck them, fuck their morals (or lack thereof) and fuck their board

ID: hlqyilu

lmao yeah i quit Overwatch since that incident, never think it's gonna make a dent to the big corpo but then they torpedoed both the company and the games into the gutter.

feels good. I'd like to think i made an impact.

ID: hlrg5tq

Hell yeah brother. Never forget.

ID: hlr65pm

Same, they're on my no-buy list too

ID: hlrdgsa

I came so close to buying Diablo 2 on Black Friday sale yesterday because I’d love to go for a little nostalgia trip but couldn’t bring myself to do it because of who would be taking my money. Now reading this, I’m glad I resisted.

ID: hls86n2

95 percent of people dont even know or care about all this shit...they just keep buying cod...

ID: hlr5tue

I’ve been a Blizzard fanboy for the past 20 years plus. Playing all their games exclusively. I’ve recently uninstalled Battle.net. Activision ruined the best gaming company. Fuck these assholes.

7 : Anonymous2021/11/23 06:23 ID: hlqmpuo

There's just too much evidence that the CEO is a scumbag. He has to step down. I'm glad their stock tanked after the news broke out. Activision has a fiduciary duty to their shareholders which hopefully is enough to get the CEO removed.

ID: hlsdox9

Bobby Kotick is on Jeffery Epstein’s flight ledger. Meaning he flew on Jeffery Epstein’s plane. That is a fact.

ID: hlqxdji

Not just a scumbag, a literal felon.

ID: hlrwvue

lol yeah, when I saw the message from kotic after the blizzard shit show I lol'd harder then I thought I can. kotic is actually worse then what blizzard has done to their employees. He's the enabler.

8 : Anonymous2021/11/23 08:01 ID: hlqui7t

It's a shame. I was extremely stoked to play the d2 remaster and I consider buying it every week but I just can't do it. Really a bummer.

ID: hlqvype

I was extremely stoked to play the d2 remaster

Same, and we dodged a bullet. Apparently, it's buggy as all hell. And that's if you can even login.

ID: hlqwa8x

Wow I had no idea. Such a shame. I just need to accept that I'm never going to relive those glory days of being young playing early warcraft and Diablo. I'm just glad I did get to experience it to begin with.

ID: hlqyyhp

The game itself is great and I have no issues playing offline single player. This is primarily because from my understanding Vicarious Visions were mainly responsible for the actual remaster. The network side of things though (Blizzards responsibility) is a complete shit show. I can’t even fathom how a multi billion dollar company has a queue just to find a game in 2021. At one point the queue completely prevented console users from accessing the online part of the game.

9 : Anonymous2021/11/23 09:03 ID: hlqyve0

Want to get Kotick and the board gone?

Acti-Blizz has to Unionize. Shareholders will shit themselves with rage that Kotick et al. let things get so out of hand that their employees finally Unionized.

ID: hlqzvsi

That's probably the only solution really. Gamers won't solve this, board members won't solve this. But employees can.

But they probably won't, because game devs think they don't deserve a union, for some reason. So nothing will change.

ID: hlrcj87

It's not just game development. It's American society as a while. And its less not feeling deserved, and moreso a fear of retaliation and an imbedded distain toward unions decades in the making.

ID: hlr19uy

Game developers are highly replaceable, it's an industry that runs on paying low wages for high output based on prestige of being a part of an industry you love(d), there are always more people in the wings that will work in your place.

Game devs don't think they don't deserve a union, they just (somewhat rightly) think that they would be fired for unionizing. Their positions would be replaced in a week

ID: hls0qnh

I really hope people start using John Deere as an example when pushing to form a union.

ID: hlr6gj7

I am absolutely pro-union and think it's sorely needed in the industry, but it's not a cure-all. Unions can end up protecting abusers just as much as management has. They don't just need to unionize, they need to do so in a manner that takes this crisis as an example and bakes the lessons into the very structure of the union.

10 : Anonymous2021/11/23 06:51 ID: hlqp4zf

There is still many shills for this company and for wow. It’s sad.

11 : Anonymous2021/11/23 09:23 ID: hlr05wn

I kNoW yOu ArE aLl AnGrY aT uS, bUt MaYbE wE cAn MaKe iT uP yOu wItH tHeSe TwO nEw StOrE mOuNtS!

12 : Anonymous2021/11/23 09:35 ID: hlr10ej

the amount of people who still bought vanguard is insane, it's also exactly why they don't give a shit, they know people will have conveniently "forgotten" by the next game and buy en masse.

ID: hlrq13w

The majority of people buying it will have heard absolutely nothing about these issues.

ID: hlr54zd

The game plays exactly like other games. Just new looks and a fucking “vote” system just promote their paid skins and executions.

Yet people will be flying all over it

What a joke

13 : Anonymous2021/11/23 11:54 ID: hlrawan

The CEO won't leave until his stock has been sold and his millions of dollars worth of severance is ready.

Activision Reaches Sad New Low With Workplace Committee Plans

I have faith in Activision, they can go lower.

15 : Anonymous2021/11/23 10:18 ID: hlr3ufv

It’s funny how Activision figured all wrong.

Their problem is not the lack of diversity or “wokeness” or some Twitter bullshit.

Their problem is the lack of being an ethical company and with a moronic leadership that doesn’t know how to live in a civilized world.

Also the very own core on blizzard business is completely wrong, in a capitalistic market you increase your revenue mainly satisfying the needs of the consumers and they are literally crapping and destroying their own games with some bad development and lack of Innovation.

Looks like they are too busy harassing woman and writing bullshit too maintain their games straight.

16 : Anonymous2021/11/23 12:58 ID: hlrgr54

That board needs to be fired. The shareholders should move to have an emergency vote and relieve these jokers.

ID: hlrmeyt

He owns 25% of the shares. It would be very difficult for them to find enough votes to form a majority out a the other 75%. Heck most of the rest are probably owned by big mutual funds that would probably stay quiet on the matter.

17 : Anonymous2021/11/23 13:52 ID: hlrmrta

As someone in the IT industry who often looked at Blizzard as a possible dream job (that idea ended years ago) I don’t think I can properly state how much I would steer clear of this company. Wonder if their inability to hire anyone will be the long term death nail.

18 : Anonymous2021/11/23 06:13 ID: hlqlwk8

Yikes

19 : Anonymous2021/11/23 07:49 ID: hlqtmvb

Who is going to make him resign?

Is he making money? Because if he is, shareholder is going to love him, regardless of what he has done.

Some minority shareholders may want him resign, but majority of the shareholder cares more about the money he makes.

Want him gone? Don’t buy their games. But there are enough enough doing so for him to be making lots of money.

ID: hlqwcze

Some minority shareholders may want him resign, but majority of the shareholder cares more about the money he makes.

Their stock is still hurt, although it goes upward. They will continue with their blabla and then everything else is responsible if the goals aren't met.

Is he making money? Because if he is, shareholder is going to love him, regardless of what he has done.

For the last days his involvement meant that he stood for losing money for a short period of time. Nobody loves that.

Also other big companies survived management/ CEO changes and got even stronger. There is no reason to believe this can't happen here too.

ID: hlqw31e

This will never happen. Gamers will never stop buying whatever they do as long the games are remotely ok. They can't resist hype and "can't miss out" feeling. They can murder people and people will still buy. Only if majority of shareholders demand it

20 : Anonymous2021/11/23 10:35 ID: hlr50d5

I know it won’t happen but I wish we wake up one day and Activision is gone. I don’t know how or why this firm hasn’t gone down. If it didn’t because of those numerous scandals, when will it be? What cause?

The only way I can do my part is literally don’t buy the fucking cods which are all the same anyways.

I also wish everyone to be able to do that. Don’t buy the fucking cod. But I know it won’t happen, and that’s why the fucking thing will still exist

21 : Anonymous2021/11/23 13:40 ID: hlrld77

Garbage company needs to simply die.

22 : Anonymous2021/11/23 07:04 ID: hlqq4kb

Money always talk, as long as he give shareholder profit he will stay. Only minor shareholder that only own 0,6% want him to resign. The major shareholder pretty much quiet about this.

Sure their stock fall, but it's normal. Last year their stock already overbought so it's make sense investors will sell to gain profit.
