Xillia 1&2 are probably the easist/most likely, less likely would be Eternia in a Star Ocean First Departure R style, digital only.
Even less likely would be a new localization of Destiny 2, DC, and Rebirth.
I’d love a better remaster of Symphonia, based off the Gamecube code for 60fps battles, but for whatever reason Bamco prefers versions with more content.

Xillia 2 came out like a year into the ps4 lifecycle as a ps3 exclusive.

ID: hmcjqujTurn based versus real time combat, but heavy on story and relationships. I loved P5 and Arise is my first Tales, haven't put it down in a couple weeks

Gameplay is 100% different but if you like that cheesy anime goodness mixed with realistic character interactions you'll feel at home.
(P5 is still way better but P5 set the bar incredibly high in my eyes)
ID: hmcr2oaI haven’t played Persona, but after like 7-8 hours of arise, what I’ve seen so far the writing isn’t nearly as good. Characters are pretty much just anime tropes or cliches.
Gameplay is kinda fun if you wanna do a bunch of crazy moves. Things seem to slowly get bigger and better so maybe they designed the game as they went lol. Story and writing could get better after the initial awkward characterizations.

ID: hmedmo9Play the older, PS2-era Tales games if you want a good story. The modern games descend into the malaise of anime tropes and fan service box-checking. Wouldn’t play Xillia or anything more recent as your first Tales game unless you’re only interested in the gameplay.

ID: hmde30wI certainly enjoyed it enough to platinum it and I platted P5R as well. Arise isn't as long as P5, you can finish the story in like 40-50 hours although the writing in Arise isn't as great as P5 (I find there to be a bit too much repeated conversation topics in Arise) but I still enjoyed it.

Also give Trails-series a try (Trails in the Sky trilogy, Trails from Zero/to Azure, Cold Steel quadrilogy), great story-driven series, with overarching plot set in one world over duration of over five years now.

If it’s remasters of the old ones I think it would be a good fit for the Switch. If it’s more of a proper remake or a full on high quality remaster I would hope for PS5.
Perfect cadence would be one Switch remaster, one modern hardware remaster, followed by a new game. If done well remasters are great. If done poorly…

ID: hmgz92hThey literally made a new game and released it not too long ago. Like tales of arise is maybe 3 months old today.
Remasters are nice because tales games are their own story and all are very different than the others. Arise had very different combat then berseria which is the last game. The entire story was different and in a different world as well.
ID: hmh2iiyOld games don't replace new games. Theyre still making new games, Tales of Arise just came out this year.
And old games are still good and making them better and accessible when there's demand is certainly good as well.
Remasters are a net positive for everyone.

Need Symphonia and Xillia 2 remasters.
I bought the collectors edition of those games back when the PS4 was about to be announced, and when the PS4 came out, I just didn't have it in me to play the PS3 anymore, and so the games in their CE boxes remained sealed.
It didn't help when I found out Symphonia requires multiple playthroughs with unskippable cutscenes to get the plat
Tried to see if I can play them on PS Now, and nope.

It's my favorite tales game of all time and I'd certainly buy it in a second. But that game is still so great now.
