It’s crazy how much they’re struggling with this game. They had a winning formula with Black Flag and could’ve just copied, pasted, and cut out the assassins.

That was way too good for modern day Ubisoft. They had to pull it back quite a bit.

That's quite literally what were they doing in the beginning

But the game got the development wiped and started again a few times, Ubisoft basically wants a live service with his own in game currency, some kind of EVE online

ID: hrey935

yep, thats exactly what i wanted. more pirate single player ship battles game. too bad they wanted to make a multiplayer game, i didnt want that.

ID: hrdppvi

Then everyone would've bitched about it being a copied, pasted, and cut black flag.

ID: hrdufl7

Yeah well those people would be wrong

ID: hreb9tc

Literally every single Ubisoft game these days is a copy-paste of the previous version and they still sell pretty well. I doubt skull and bones would bomb if they copy and paste Black Flag

ID: hreog0c

It's a ubisoft game, everyone is gonna bitch about something no matter what they do.

ID: hrdrz2s

Thats basically what they did but what’s left sure is not enough for a full game

ID: hrduo23

They also took out controlling a singular pirate which I think is the main issue

ID: hre4svg

instead they basically abandoned the whole concept, I mean AC Rogue was basically the same thing (disregarding the story), but then they didn't even build on the fantastic base they had build and removed the naval side in the next entry of the series (which was Unity).

Like honestly they could've had a super fun game at the same time Sea of Thieves released, maybe even earlier (which was pretty bad on release if I remember), yet they squandered that potential and put that game through development hell because apparently they couldn't decide what they wanted to do

ID: hre8hve

Which is what they did the first time

Sooo youre sayin this game is almost literally dead in the water haha

ID: hrdg7cn

They are legally obligated by Singapore government to finish the game.

Tragically they couldn't find a way to shove NFT's into the game so they cancelled it

ID: hrded3y

Right haha

4 : Anonymous2022/01/05 18:16 ID: hrdv0qe

Is that game still alive?

ID: hre405c

I mean it never got released so it never lived to begin with.

5 : Anonymous2022/01/05 18:17 ID: hrdv7kt

He'll be working in The Animus now.

6 : Anonymous2022/01/05 16:53 ID: hrdh40f

I mean, they had good formula with the sailing in Black Flag. Just take the sailing out of Black Flag and make it a MMO with recruiting, treasure hunting and stuff.

7 : Anonymous2022/01/05 17:01 ID: hrdifvz

They realised they couldn't compete against Sea of the Thieves success with the amount of Microtransactions and NFT's they were about to use..

ID: hre1ll1

Considering how many microtransactions exists for Sea of Thieves I doubt that would have been issue.

Someone wants a new job after 15 years? I'm shocked.

Seriously though people look into this too much. Maybe hes done his part or he simply wants to work elsewhere in the world or he wants to retire.
