You shouldn't need to look up online for required shortcuts on time trials just to pass, to help your time sure but to pass it's completely unreasonable. Especially when the game is so wonky on when it decides you are allowed to go off track and when it's going to snap the auto reset.
Having RNG track parts like the spider or draw bridge on time trials seems a bit of an oversight as well since it can make or break the time trial if your not lucky and it's annoying having to reload a 3 minute trial just because your RNG says wall of spider webs this run.
Aside from that, the game is okay. It's not great, but the majority of the game is playable, looks nice and is cool if you like collecting hotwheels. I really hope these paid seasons keep the devs around and working. There are some QoL improvements that would make sense, but I'm not sure if they are actively trying to fix things.
ID: htstpcrYeah, the spider fucked up so many of my time trial runs. Sometimes the floor is basically clear and the other times there's a nearly unpassable wall of spider shit.
It's a solid game overall IMO. I did regret renting it at launch though because I was stuck with having to grind coins the bullshit way. Made me rethink playing games at launch. Apparently the grind is way better now.
ID: htt3s8mYeah with the seasons the coins/gears grind is a lot easier. I usually buy the pass tho, so not sure if free to play has the same benefits or you need to the pass to get all the coins/gears.
I don't regret getting the game, even with it's weird flaws it's still a good game and my kid loves hot wheels so all these season passes are worth the 5 bucks and grinding so he doesn't miss a car.

What on earth are the people who say this game has rubberbanding on? I never noticed any sort of rubberbanding in this game. The hardest part is beating the Unleashed lap times on certain tracks. Out of the entire game, there's only one stage that I actually got stuck on for a while. Other than that, standard races against AI opponents are fairly simple.
Don't blame the game for your incompetence.
ID: htsqt0aWhether or not the rubberbanding challenged you in particular has no relevance to whether or not the game has rubberbanding on. In addition, not liking a cheap game mechanic does not mean you personally struggled with said cheap game mechanic.

ID: htsslk9Given the insane amount of idiocy in your comment, I'm not expecting you to understand this, regardless of how simple it is, but nevertheless, I'm going to say it once more: there is no rubberbanding in this game. If you guys are having trouble keeping up with the opposition, you can chalk it up to using a crappy car or not being skilled enough or both. But don't come at me crying rivers about the game using cheap mechanics like rubberbanding when it does no such thing.

ID: htsnxg0Easy = can't lose. Medium = "zero mistakes". The complaint that difficulties don't scale properly is valid. Online I can make podium most races but playing AI on medium and I'm almost always last.

ID: htso5hyFinished the entire game on medium and had little trouble 100%ing the game. Seen games where the difficulty doesn't scale properly. This ain't one of them.

This game is easily my biggest regret purchase of 2021.

It's pretty much everything I wanted. There are way way more pre made tracks than I expected, and if you pkay online there's tons more. Only complaint so far is its too much of a grind to unlock new cars after you finish the City Map.
I also like that the cars are mostly fairly balanced by giving slower vehicles with better handling more boost. It's not poinless trying to use the Roller Toaster or Buns of Steel.
