I have been playing Persona 5 as of late and now the term 'metaverse' just creeps me out.

Am I the only one who thinks all this “metaverse” stuff will flop? Anyone under like 40 not living under a rock has seen countless MMORPGs, Second Life, VR Chat, etc.
How is any of this any different? Same crap but likely monetized even more.

What does that even mean? Something like Second Life? Buts eeing the recent games of BN getting their servers clsoed and delisted from stores due to low activities, I don't think this gonna work at all, especially if the concept is not attractive.

Would be dope if we got a westworld type of thing but I seriously doubt any of these companies are looking to do something like that atleast not in a way that would go for high quality and not just ways to gouge people for bullshit.

Agreed, it also seems like its being used as a catch-all term for a variety of different ideas/projects that should require a lot more nuance to properly differentiate.

Namco fell off since the Bandai merger, they cash in on anime franchises and make bargain bin titles full of MXN's and milk predictable story tropes with Tales Of every year.
The only thing they've made in the last decade of value is Ni No Kuni which they didn't even develop, only publish

I feel like people are using the term metaverse as a "everything" term. It's used in so many different ways it's hard to tell what their end goal is that is going to benefit me as a consumer. If it has no benefit then I wont be part of it.
