- Uncharted Film earns $226M+ worldwide
-
Enjoyed the film more than I thought I would. Still think it would have been better with a different actor for Drake but overall it was a solid 7/10. Will certainly see the sequel
ID: hyp6figID: hypc0iewallberg can gain some more wrinkles
And a moustache
ID: hypgfy2I played the games a bit late and got to the young Nathan parts around the time Holland was announced to play him. He definitely has the feel of a young Nathan. I'm also curious what that could turn into as he ages.
ID: hyphhueIts funny because unlike what seems to most of the internet, im fine with Tom Holland. I dont want sully Mark Wahlberg, i wanted Bruce Campbell.

Hopefully, if we get a sequel, it will be a superior one like Uncharted 2 was.
ID: hyoqdzgIf we have the same level of improvement between the first and second movies as we had between the first and second games, we're looking at Terminator 2 levels of greatness.
just let me dream
ID: hyp1hozGreat analogy. Terminator 2 is legit the perfect sequel.
ID: hyotmr4It was pretty clearly a set up movie, which gives me a bit of hope but also seems completely unnecessary when they could have just properly dove into the character and nobody would have been confused. It’s a pretty straightforward action story.
ID: hyov8oiYeah the good thing is they've got a clean slate to work with now so even if somebody didn't like the first film, chances are the sequel is a standalone adventure where you won't even need to have seen the first film anyway since that's all it does is show Drake and Sully meeting.
ID: hyouzeyIt would be funny if the movies followed the same general pattern in terms of quality as the games.
ID: hyov9qzGood, Best, Great, Second best?
Yeah I might actually see them then.
ID: hyp2yaxI hope the movies follow the games...
Uncharted 1 = SMB (Awesome)
Uncharted 2 = SMB 3 (Awesome +)
Uncharted 3 = SMW (Awesome in a different way)
-
It was a fun movie, definitely worth watching once. I don't think I'll go out of my way to watch it again.
It didn't quite live up to the Indiana Jones series it was trying to emulate. It didn't really quite live up to the video games either. It was better than most movies coming out in 2022. Nice to see some practical effects/set pieces alongside the CGI.
-
While the success of this movie is good for keeping the IP alive and well, I kinda hope we get a 5th game with Chloe/Nadine returning or Cassie from the U4 epilogue
-
Was a pretty good movie.
Was pleasantly surprised
ID: hyomzaqYeah I thought it was a pretty fun movie. I’m looking forward to see what they do with the sequel.
ID: hyotiqt!?
Well, that's good to hear, I might check it out, it doesn't take much to make me happy, I like both the Venom movies.ID: hyovtjvThen you’ll definitely like this one
ID: hyp3f5oI like both Venom movies but I think the uncharted movie was better than the Venom movies think Indiana Jones in a modern era
ID: hyoz0atI’ve heard it’s a very entertaining action film. But not necessarily a good Uncharted movie. I guess we just have to accept it’s a different beast. I’ll see it when it comes out on streaming.
ID: hyp3axuIt reminds me a lot of Indiana Jones style of movie.
There's a lot of nods and winks to the game but generally speaking it's very loosely based upon the game.
I actually think that this is the best thing they could have done because if you followed the games specifically you wouldn't give yourself any freedom to do your own thing. Think of the new star trek movies where they are in their own universe but are loosely based upon the originals.
ID: hypcudpIf cable TV was still a thing for me it’s absolutely the kind of movie I’d leave on as I’m doing this or that around the house and probably get distracted by.
-
I really enjoyed the movie. Tom Holland did a great job, even if I think he’s probably wrong actor to portray nathan drake. I think they could absolutely improve upon first film with a sequel.
ID: hyovru2The only problem I ended up having with Holland's casting is the stupid fucking flashback which said 15 years earlier even though young Nathan looks like 5 years younger than Holland. They should have just de-aged Tom and made the gap 10 years.
ID: hyoy1neYea that was pretty weird, and also don't forget the ancient tunnel that was sealed for 500 years and suddenly we see modern fences and a night club..
ID: hyp5d1jHin looking 17 years old as a bartender was quite an eyeroll moment for me, and I hated, HATED the earpiece joke. Such a super bad joke that didn't land, but otherwise it was a good brainless action popcorn flick.
-
Basically guranteed a sequel right?
ID: hyooyedTypically if the gross is double the cost then it is likely to get a sequel. This seems to be the case here unless there was some crazy marketing costs like Justice League.
I didn’t quite like the casting but it wasn’t definitely not terrible like I thought it was going to be.
I think the movie really shines when it does its own set pieces like the one at the end of the movie.
Possibly a spoiler****
But if they end up adapting the first game, it’s pretty much the perfect opportunity to create your own set pieces since the first game didn’t have as many memorable ones as the latter games.
ID: hyoqefoYeah or maybe more live action movies like Gow, Horizon, Rachet, Jak N Daxter, etc…..
ID: hyp5i8oI refuse to believe they could do Horizon justice so I'd rather they leave that alone.
-
It was pretty lacklustre
-
Kinda surprised a lot of people enjoyed it. Felt like a very generic action/adventure and could not get into it. Also very bad writing choices.
-
These video game adaptations are gonna be a thing now, isn't it...
-
Unpopular opinion (I guess?)
I enjoyed the movie.
ID: hyp341dI think that's a popular opinion
-
In rotten tomatoes when I saw the critics reviews average is 40% and thought it will be a flop like most video game adaptation . But after 1 week it got user reviews of 90% then I understood is actually a good one .
-
This is Uncharted territory for an adaption of a video game.
-
Stay after the credits yall
-
Saw it in 4d it was awesome
ID: hyphmdk4D? Is that with the smells and stuff?
-
Not sure how they could make a sequel when the entire movie is a Mashup of 1,2,3,4. If anything we need to wait for Uncharted5 to release so they will have some source material since Hollywood really doesn't have anyone creating original ideas....just halfbaking previously created sources.
ID: hyp1mykIt's not supposed to follow the games tho story wise just inspired by it hence the change ups. TLOU HBO series will be an adaptation based on the games
-
It’s gonna need to clear another hundred million to be considered a profitable success. With Batman coming out in a couple days, I don’t see that happening very easily.
ID: hyp206fIt should clear it easily. Current question is whther it'll past $400M as the estimates currently are between $360M to $410M.
-
The movie played it safe and on its own accord, not really sure why all the hate by most fans. It's a good movie on a weekend with family or friends. Sure it's not authentic to its source material but what we got is pretty solid entertainment.
I was not disappointed going in with low expectations and the movie paid some homage even though not perfect (wasted characters like Chloe and Santiago, and lack of more action sequences).
I'm all in for a sequel as long as they don't exaggerate by mixing in too much from every game, this movie was unfortunately a "salad" of various scenes throughout the game series (almost like they didn't think it would be successful enough for a sequel).
Verdict: 6.5/10
ID: hyp5z8fSad to see Chloe was wasted. She seemed like the best casted by far of the entire bunch in the trailers. I guess that's why.
ID: hyoxb4fthe movie paid some homage
FTFY.
Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.
Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
Beep, boop, I'm a bot
-
I enjoyed it, lighthearted fun
-
Uncharted still has a looong way to go before just breaking even, let alone being profitable. And the new Batman movie is gonna eat everyone's lunch in a week or so.
-
It's a great movie. Keep crying u losers lmao.

Eh, I think you should just let them get it out. I think going any deeper into the meta is kinda iffy. At this point you’re complaining about them complaining about other people complaining.
-
I don’t really understand what fans were expecting. IMO, the movie was more enjoyable than the first game.
-
Pretty sure the only loser here is someone saying “keep crying u losers” while pretending their opinion is a fact.
-
I hope this is below what they expected and they just let this rest
-
This really is the darkest timeline.
-
Made close to double their budget of $120 million
-
Already 100 million over the budget, nice
-
Honestly the writing was so-and-so but I actually enjoyed this movie. There's something funny about watching Tom Holland of all people try to act like a hardass
-
When can we expect the video game adaptation of the movie? With digitized versions of Tom Holland and Mark Wahlburg (sp?). In all seriousness, I thought the movie was ok, not bad, but not great either, glad I watched it once, probably won't watch it again.
-
Hope it was worth it that shitty movie will now forever be a stain on the franchise and panned by critics worldwide
-
Bitch please lol

I got a free ticket to this and I still have no plans to see it.

Yeah I get where you're coming from, but I'm hoping they're playing the long game where we'll see four movies over 10 years where Holland can loose some boyishness and wallberg can gain some more wrinkles.
