By reading the comments in here you'd think they gave the game a 6/10. Anyway looking forward to it. Sounds like they knocked it out if the park for this one.

Same thing happening over at

. The usual Xbox crowd highlighting every perceived negative about the game. Zero balance.

not really.

over there a healthy debate .does not get you death threats like here does.

Only thing I hate is the always online component. I love to dig out old games and play them all of the time. I won't be able to do that with GT7. Servers having issues? Sorry, can't play the game you spent 70 dollars on. It's bonkers.

I really hope they change this. I'll likely hold off on purchasing to see what they do. Too many good games to spend time and money on always-online single player games.

You can still play the game offline but requires a connection to save progress since it is shared between single player and multiplayer. The purpose is to prevent cheaters in multiplayer because it ruined multiplayer in GT6.

Good chance they will just patch it out if the servers ever go offline because then there would be no point in preventing cheating

According to DF, it doesn't let you do much of anything offline at all other than some quick/basic races.

It also means that all of this goes away in 10 years when Sony shuts down the servers too. Kind of like Nintendo is doing with a bunch of stuff. Like Sony tried to do with PS3 recently, etc. It's just awful. Make me have an online and offline account if that's the case. Sucks having draconian DRM in a physical 70 dollar game.

It's absurd. Considering GT Sport launched almost five years ago and still has the online requirement, I sadly don't see this going away any time soon from GT7.

Don’t worry. It’s only always online so you’ll always have access to micro transactions.

The car list is still outdated, weather effects only apply to a handful of tracks, damage is still non-existent, and it has microtransactions for in-game currency.

9/10.

Seriously though, I'm glad it's better than the last couple of GTs. Some great games out this year already

Can you explain more about the MTX? Ive not heard anything about this

You can buy cars by using real money but you don't have to

They typically add cars in throughout the games life cycle right? I understand licenses and all but when Need for Speed has 75+ brand new vehicles and Gran Turismo has all the same old stuff it's not a great look.

It's a celebration of car culture, new and old. There's 400 cars in the game at the start, it's not like using one that's a few years oodnwill make it unplayable.

I think I just prefer acarde racing. So I'll stick with Forza

It's funny that Forza Motorsport started out directly inspired by/to compete with Gran Turismo.

I absolutely love sims with a wheel and haven't really bothered with trying them with a controller. I feel like I wouldn't enjoy it so much. Maybe the dualsense helps with that immersion though.

The rewind system isn’t as smooth as Forza. That’s my main issue.
