I swear one look at this Reddit and a visitor would get the impression the pro has all sort of issues

Does the pro really have so many possible things that could mess up with the console or do people just come here because they think it’s a good place for advice on how to fix issues with the system?? Never really had issues with mine but some of these posts really get me paranoid lol

Same rule as customer service;

Generally, people don't call if they're happy with their service.

I bought a pro in early 2019 (don’t know if that’s the second edition or not) and have had zero issues.

I got one in 2019 or so as well... Started giving thermal issues playing heavy games... Repasted it.. Works better than factory condition

It's a niche subreddit: most conversations at this point, several years from release, are going to be about system maintenance.

I have an original one and have ever had an issue. Its easy to take the top casing off and Clean the fan. That’s what I do 2 times a year.

I bought my pro at launch no issues, cleaned it once or twice. Sure, I can hear the fan if the volume is low but it seems people here lose their minds trying to make it whisper quite for some reason. Re-applying thermal paste multiple times is not sane to me.

I think you're underestimating how loud it is for some people. My Pro was pretty quiet when I first got it brand new but within six months the fan was so loud I HAD to wear headphones to game and even then I could hear the fan. My wife could hear that sucker going from the complete other side of the apartment, around a corner and through two doors. It was placed well with 5 inches clearance on all sides, nobody smoked in my place and I have no pets. I took it apart and cleaned it, and the was basically zero dust. The ONLY thing that fixed it was replacing the thermal paste and three months after doing that the fan is starting to get loud again. I don't need it whisper quiet, I'd just like to be able to have a conversation with someone in the same room while it's on. Or like to be able to play with a mic and not have it broadcasting fan sound the entire time.

Its far better than an entire Wall of posts by Ali G

Just take into account that factory paste job might not be so good. Everything else is passable and fixable.

I see posts every day on here about people changing thermal pads and paste. And if you own the pro you know that bitch runs hot. Fair assumption it has cooling issues

I have the PS4 Pro with the updated fan revision... I never had an issue, I already replaced the thermal paste and it's more quiet than before

It certainly looks that way! Mind you, the net is full of vids and posts of malfunctioning consoles, yet I've never had any issues with any of mine. Switch, PS4, PS4Pro, Xbone, 360, all been working perfectly.
