Leaker claims “Tales of Arise” is coming to game pass this summer

1 : Anonymous2021/03/08 05:57 ID: m096va

Not sure if I can believe this leak. Especially that the leaker got some things wrong in the past (such as the reveal of mass effect remaster at the microsoft event last year).

But I figured to post this here since the leaker also correctly predicted some things such as Kingdom Hearts coming to the Epic Games Store exclusively about a year ago (six months before the official reveal) and Nioh 2 coming to PC (before the official reveal).

I’d be shocked if Arise is even out this year lol

The recent trailer was very barebones, I wouldn't expect it until Q1 or 2 of 2022.

3 : Anonymous2021/03/08 06:59 ID: gq6r0uq

This dude isn’t a leaker, they just guess random shit. They said Nioh 2 would be out for PC last year between October and November and that wasn’t true at all.

ID: gq7cbzc

im not sure that was even his leak lol, gamespot mentioned a november pc release back in february here

ID: gq72yuz

was kingdom heart being release on pc and being an exclusive was random guess too?

4 : Anonymous2021/03/08 06:25 ID: gq6omye

The same leaker also said that ghost of tsushima would be coming soon to pc back in june last year, so...

ID: gq6ovlo

He also claims that microsoft is working on a portable console

I dont know if I can believe that either considering their push for game pass cloud. But who knows.

5 : Anonymous2021/03/08 07:32 ID: gq6t7uh

they got Nioh 2's date wrong

and Nioh 2 coming to PC isn't all that surprising when you consider that the first game already had a PC release

6 : Anonymous2021/03/08 08:00 ID: gq6v1zb

Oh ffs anybody could've predicted Nioh 2 on pc, the original had a PC port 1 year later just like its sequel, that ain't much of a leak that's just common sense

ID: gq733xp

anybody could have predicted kingdom's heart pc port and even an epic exclusive a year ago right?

I dont think this is legit, Scarlet Nexus is releasing this summer and thats similar to a Tales game and is also coming from Bandai Namco.

I do think Tales of Arise will release this year but it will probably be Q4, October or November if i had to guess.

8 : Anonymous2021/03/08 07:54 ID: gq6uo6a

so tales of arise a new entry in a long running franchise will be on gamepass, but not scarlett nexus a new ip that could use that initial bump, people come up with the dumbest shit in these dead news weeks lol

9 : Anonymous2021/03/08 06:37 ID: gq6ph49

more like rumors of arise, m i rite

I’m curious of what Xbox’s plans for Japan are. That one Bloomberg article discussed Japanese studios being approach for partnerships. People wrote it off as inaccurate after Phil’s GameSpot interview, but he never actually denied the report. It’ll be interesting if Xbox signs a deal with a Japanese publisher to bring their games to Game Pass day and date, regardless of exclusivity.

Bloomberg would never lie or make that article without credible sources, I 100% believe them.

If MS wants Xbox Gamepass to succeed in Japan they know that they have to get a big number of Japanese titles on there especially all of the games that skipped Xbox this generation. With Yakuza being a success for SEGA on Gamepass we might get more announcements this summer.

Well, having Tango and Mikami is a good start. People tend to say Xbox has no chance in Japan but I don't think so. The Xbox 360, who had a ton of exclusive Japanese games until around 2010, sold 2.6 million consoles in Japan. The Xbox One, with no exclusive Japanese software, has sold only 100.000 consoles there - when worldwide the difference is of around 85 million vs 60 million - , so having exclusive Japanese software does make a difference.

The problem is that when Mattrick became Head of Xbox in 2009 he decided to stop supporting Japanese software and that's when sales plummeted in Japan, but they could have sold 4 million consoles or maybe 5 until 2014 had they kept supporting Japanese games like Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, etc.

I think game pass is probably their avenue forward to bring Japanese games to Xbox. They'll probably try to sign single game deals or focus on a particular franchise to bring games to game pass. This worked well with Nier automata as well as Yakuza. I could see them making a deal for Persona ports since Microsoft negotiated with Sega to bring Yakuza over and Persona 4 did well on steam.

what Xbox’s plans for Japan are.

None. No point to waste money and time on Japan. Microsoft should move on and focus on US and EU.

This got me thinking about how many Game Pass "leaks" and rumours there are. Why is this the case?

ID: gq6vsxu

Maybe because Microsoft focuses on it when they talk to companies probably the most

12 : Anonymous2021/03/08 06:36 ID: gq6perq

Anonymous leakers are usually insiders or their acquaintances, and they leaks one project or one studio, so I’m not sure its a good idea to trust him. His might be some kind of analysts or whatever but not the insider

13 : Anonymous2021/03/08 08:28 ID: gq6wsvr

I am interested in this game but we still have not seen any real gameplay yet.

ID: gq6ys88

Plus the game was supposed to come out in 2020. Everytime no gameplay was shown this far after the game was supposed to come out it was always a disappointment or disastrous. The only exception to this I could think of is RDR 2

14 : Anonymous2021/03/08 08:45 ID: gq6xto7

This guy has had some decent leaks, like the two you mentioned, but if you actually look at his tweet history most of them are off, and that's presuming he hasn't deleted anything that was 100% wrong (which he probably did). I wouldn't consider him a reliable source.

15 : Anonymous2021/03/08 06:18 ID: gq6o46z

what is tales of arise

ID: gq6p53i

It's a video game.

ID: gq6r114

Bandai has a JRPG franchise called Tales of, this upcoming entry has the biggest budget of any Tales game ever and is more ambitious so it looks like they are betting big on this one.

16 : Anonymous2021/03/08 06:54 ID: gq6qng2

Who knows It might be true, it looks like nearly all of Xbox’s 1st party exclusives titles are in the later 2nd half of 2021 so MS might have made a deal to boost Gamepass subs mid year.

17 : Anonymous2021/03/08 10:10 ID: gq72ul0

its funny when every comment is criticizing on things which didnot happen or which ''people knew which were going to happen'' what about KH's release and being epic exclusive? is that every people knew that too?
