- I ordered a PlayStation 1 and it came with these two controllers. Any reason why one doesn’t have analog sticks and the other does?
-
The one without sticks is the original ps1 controller
-
Not all controllers were analog back then.

They released the Original stickless controllers with the og PlayStation, then as games cos a bit more developed and technical they released a controller called the dual analogue controller which was phased out to make way for the dual shock 1 and then so on till it became the dual sense
-
As others have said, the top came packed with the console and the bottom was the Analog pad. I bought my first analog pad after about a week with the original Gran Turismo way back when.

The non-analog stick one is the original ps1 controller. We didnt have analogs originally. The second one is for the ps1 slime.

Yeah that takes me back lol It! It took me and my friends a long time to even use the analogue sticks even on the PS2 because we were so used to years of gaming without them

ID: gqn43e7Sony did release those for the ps1 they were just later.
ID: gqn5o5gThey're both PS1 controllers
ID: gqn4r2zThe one with the analogs came with the “PSone” which was the “slim” variant of the original PS1.
Edit: I was wrong.
ID: gqn7oh8Nope, the PSOne released in 2000, the original Dualshock released in late 1997 (with it's predecessor the Dual Analogue in early 1997).
