Any recommendations would be appreciated, if its more than 10 dollars still let me know.
Edit: thank you to everyone who suggested a game! I will try my best to check them all out.

Stardew valley is $15 if you can swing a little more than $10. It's not my cup of tea but comes highly recommended as a relaxing game
ID: grjiq5bID: grmm15eIs farming simulator like farmville but without having microtransactions pushed on you?
I'd love to play that type of game again but without being encouraged to input my credit card.

Rocket League is free and is a great game for listening to music while playing. The relaxing part might be debatable depending on how competitive you are.
ID: grjqjmpIs it worth starting as a brand new player? I hated starting a multiplayer game where everyone just destroys you.
ID: grkijnaYea, just play some matches with the AI offline and then try your hand online. Because it's free and cross platform, there's a massive player base with a huge variety in skill level. The game is ready to understand/ pick up, and it has a huge skill ceiling. So you never really master the game, you can only keep getting better and the matchmaking is pretty good at matching you with similarly skilled people.
ID: grk9rttI think it's worth it. They did a decent job with their ranking system, and usually you're playing against similarly skilled players. Your first 10 matches in each mode will be gauging your skill level so it might be an up and down start, but it should level out.
I'd recommend watching a few youtube videos that give pointers for beginners. Also, this might be something to do after you play for a bit, but adjusting your settings is huge. Find out what you like your sensitivity, camera height, etc. I would definitely recommend you turn off the camera shake option asap. Also, the user created training sessions are a great resource for figuring stuff out.
Edit: One more thing, I wish I would have done this when I first started, but remapping the Turbo button to LT or L2 is huge. Being able to boost and jump at the same time is critical later when you become a better player. I did not do this and I'm kicking myself for it because it's much harder to press X (jump) and O (turbo) at the same time compared to X and L2.
And while you're at it, you can also map Barrel roll left to L1 and Barrel roll right to R1. Again, this mainly effects your gameplay once you have the basics down, but in my opinion it will help you out so much to learn this stuff early on and have your muscle memory set.
ID: grklu56Yeah, play with bots for an hour or so then play casual mode. After 5 or 6 games the game will figure out who to pair you with.
ID: grl63bkYes
I have been playing since beta, I am still garbage tier, I still love it
For some reason I can still have a blast in a solo queue. They really made that game work for all skill levels.
ID: grlnn8uYou'll play people at your level. Its the best game ever.
And its free
ID: grjjvdnI actually do this, I've been playing for about 3 years and its just my go to game when I'm bored. I put on some music and jump into competitive and I can see my skill grow over the years as I relax.
ID: grjliy3Rocket league is a great one to play while listening to music!
ID: grjom82RL is my go to game for listening to podcasts and youtube videos when I don't feel like being fully immersed into a story game, and sometimes I even feel relaxed while playing (but not now, because I'm almost diamond 1 and Every. Goal. Counts.)
-
Just recently replayed Final Fantasy 15 because it was one of the PS collection games. Game is sorta' monotonous, but at the same point, doing side-quests and hunts made for great podcast listening time.
If FFXV isn't your style, maybe another openworld game in the collection? Arkham Knight, inFamous, and I would assume Days Gone (haven't played this one personally) probably make solid games. You could also look at dungeon crawlers.
And depending on how long you've been a PS Plus member and how regularly you claim games, you might have Rebel Galaxy in your collection already. That's a pretty chill Space Road Trucke
Combat game.ID: grkxx52Fighting a horde in Days Gone is def the opposite of chill. Fun game though!
ID: grlaku4Also couldn't zone out with music on because you're listening for sound cues and music cues for when hordes are coming, or where zombies are.

Steep is a really chill game to play with some music on. Don’t know the price tho but it’s pretty old now.
We’re getting ABZU and the Witness for free in 5 days which I believe will be pretty relaxing as well.
Maybe check out Human fall flat
ID: grjo5z2Abzu is chill but you finish it in a couple of hours.
ID: grkekaaAnd also you wouldn't be listening to your own music as the score for Abzu is fantastic.
ID: grl7kwrCareful when listening to music playing the witness... some puzzles require sound 😉
-
The witness is a relaxing and beautiful casual puzzle game. I think it's free for a while starting next month.
ID: grjo1uyAin't nothing casual about these damn sun puzzles
ID: grkoblqThe witness is such a beautiful experience. I remember fondly all these afternoons when I made myself a cup of coffee and solved puzzles. I love puzzle games in general but games like Talos or Portal require you to move quickly at times. Witness? That's just pure relax.
ID: grl48csWitness will also be given away free soon as part of the Play at Home initiative
-
Death stranding, you could probably pick it up used for <20. Also has a very relaxing soundtrack anyhow
ID: grlxjoiThe game has a lot of haters, but I liked everything about it.
ID: grksvtdI picked it up for 23 from ps store with ps plus discount
Wasn’t for me though i hated the gameplay
ID: grl9yedI thought everything about the game was amazing except for the gameplay. The characters, world building, all of the stuff about The Death Stranding and BTs was so amazing. The gameplay acted like a barrier infront of all of the cool stuff. It could have been a masterpiece if it hadn't just been a walking simulator.
-
Twin Breaker is a cool little arcade brick breaker. I think it’s $10
-
No Mans Sky is huge, chill, and even better when you fire up a Spotify playlist through the PS5. More than $10, but is frequently on sale.
ID: grjgj7nUnfortunately it's $60.
ID: grjlacwIf you've got a disc version, I'm pretty sure you can find it dirt cheap used online.
ID: grjglkjIt was $29 recently! Sorry.
ID: grk3dhs2nd that, even if it wasn't $10 it's still the ultimate game to kick back and listen to music too.
-
Do you have ps plus
-
Is Subnautica free right now?
ID: grklup6Soon, that was going to be my recommendation too.
-
Minecraft isn't 10 dollars but I've never played something more relaxing. As far as you use the survival mode in peaceful it's joy to just build, collect and explore.
-
Sims 4
-
The Witness & Abzu are great for this and will be free soon.
-
Metal gear solid phantom pain is like a few bucks
ID: grjyauzI love that game, but I wouldn’t say it’s relaxing lol
ID: grl2ybuBloodborne is free with PS+
-
Check Lumines Remaster for PS4. It is an amazing game that combines Tetris with music. As you progress and combines more blocks the music improves. You can get hooked easily.
-
Genshin Impact, it's free, doesn't require PS+, it's not MP, generic enough that you don't need to read the story and can just fight if you want to, but also can play it "seriously" if you want to, also pretty nice visually
-
Slay The spire is my go to listening to music game. You have to learn it, but once you know it you can play for hours.
-
Streets of Rage 4 might be a few bucks over but it is great for that.
Any of the Lego games are chill AF
I do it with COD Multiplayer all the time
River City Girls
-
Slay the spire, you can take your time as the game always waits for you to play a card and you can do pretty much anything while playing it.
-
Cities skylines is pretty chill
-
If you catch it on sale, Civ 6 is great for sinking hours into, is absolutely no stress and you don't need the sound on at all if you don't want it.
Normally costs a fair bit but I'm sure I got it for about £12 (so like $15??) on sale a month or so ago.

Yeah Stardew and Farming Simulator are usually my two go to for something like this. Stardew has more of a story line, but Farming sim can be easier to just zone out and play.
