- Returnal has finally gone GOLD!
Excited for this, haven’t had some good Sci-fi in a while. It’ll be my first PS5 game after Demon’s Souls.ID: gs8qh2n
Well to be fair, there aren’t many ps5 only games yet....ID: gs9lnni

That’s true, but I love that about new console releases. I try stuff that I maybe wouldn’t have if there were other things to play. That’s how I got into the new Wolfenstein games and The Evil Within around the PS4 launch.
SO excited for this title. I sincerely hope that the pulled out all the stops and that this rockets the studio to the next level. Sony would be wise to add them to their list of strong first party studios.
Housemarque is one of my favorites (Super Stardust HD, Dead nation, Alienation, Resogun, Nex Machina..etc etc.). I am pleased to see they pulled the focus from Stormdivers (it looked really really generic).
Here is to hoping this is the one. The launch for the next phase for them.ID: gs71q0d
I feel like this is almost some kind of a test between them and Sony to see if the acquisition would be a good idea. Really wouldn't be surprised to see Sony buying them if Returnal does remotely well!ID: gs7gwfi
Not to beat on a dead horse but I really, really hope the price doesn’t hurt this game or their relationship with Sony. They could see it not do well at all and not purchase the studio as a result.ID: gs8r7d4
I am very excited for this game. It’s had my eye since December.
The only thing I need now is a deep-dive State of Play.
Show of the following things:Exploration and item pick-ups Combat and weapons Death and the reset mechanicID: gs8furm
I was really interested in the general concept, but I finally saw a gameplay gif for the first time this morning
I loved what I saw but seeing it made me realize I'd seen nothing else. So it was a nice reminder to check myself a little and wait for reviews or at least some extended footage of how this all plays out.ID: gs9zp1z
They released a story trailer fairly recently which doesn't give too much away but has some cool details and also more gameplay than just one GIFs worth. You should check it out, I think it looks awesome personally.ID: gs8h5a0
Yes and no. Honestly I'm already sold on this game and want to go in knowing as little as possible. But if they end up doing a state of play I know i will have to watch it.
I can’t wait. Love the developers and game looks fantastic.
The game looks like so much fun! I am very ready/not ready to face the horrors of that house.
Can't wait... For reviews. If it looks as good as Demon's souls, I might pick it up! Definitely getting Res8 thoughID: gs6pu3t
Honest question, do you base your game purchases primarily on graphical quality?ID: gs6xarv
I think that for a game being released only on PS5 (no PS4 version) it's completely understandable to be excited for the graphics. Everyone wants to see what the PS5 can do.ID: gs6r6he
I definitely don’t with some older games and 2D titles being my favourites.
But this game is 70 quid. It had want to look nice.ID: gs70bav
I do not, but it helpsID: gs6u7is
Yes and No. Right now I am just starving for some games that look as good as Demon's Souls. But for me gameplay matter a really lot. I love deep mechanism and deep stories. But gameplay first most of all because I am an old school gamer, back in the day, there were not so many trash games popping up every minute.ID: gs7bjcm
Often yes. I'm a graphics slut usually. It's why I just can't get into most indie games.
There are exceptions, I like story and characters too so sometimes those with make it worth it for me to look past bad graphics, or if im playing with friends then i don't care at all about graphics or story as long as it's fun to play with a friend.ID: gs6ri59
That's a primary consideration for me. Especially since I have the ps5 and expect the best graphics. That being said the game needs to be under a genre I like such as an open world, rpg, shooter
Pretty excited for the game. I'll wait till reviews and a discount though. 70 bucks is too much for most games I'd buy.
Really intrigued by the lovecraftian style of the story. Housemarque have always been at the top in terms of game quality so I have faith that this'll follow suit.
I did have it on pre-order but now I'm gonna wait for reviews just to see how the longevity is.
Let’s fucking go!
I feel like I have all of a sudden started being hyped for this game. The combat looks like Control but better and the enemies look insane like a bunch of Blood Starved Beasts running at you all at once. I want to wait for reviews just for the sake of my wallet but if reception is good I’m going to download day one. I loved ResoGun and that was no where near my type of game but the gameplay was just so damn good.
Next 30ish days are going to be great on PS5. Very likely to pick this up and I'm genuinely excited to grab It Takes Two. Going to attempt the very first co-op experience with my wife who doesn't game at all.ID: gs79euw
Have you played Sackboy? It was my SO's first ever console game (she plays the Sims on PC but that's it), and she absolutely loved it, super fun platformer, really great Co-Op opportunities as well!.ID: gs7kfuj
Returnal of the mac
day 1ID: gs7yp72
*after reading a few reviews
In b4 this thead is filled with "I'll wait for a sale" as with every game thread now, lol.ID: gs79ijo
haha, so true though. This aint worth $70 for me anyway.ID: gs8clmr
Makes sense, it's €80 for me. As much as I've enjoyed their last few releases this is the first time they are charging AAA price so I'm waiting.ID: gs7uzk5
Not for me! I'm getting Day 1.
I'll pay 70 for this.
After 2077, GOLD is just indifference.ID: gs74yq3
Housemarque at least have a good track record of releasing polished, functional games on day1. As always people should wait for reviews regardlessID: gsbn9px
I honestly don’t believe 2077 really went gold when they said it did.
What does this going gold mean? I can't seem to tellID: gs6rq7l
Part of software development. Alpha, Beta, Gold. Gold = gold master that is shipped for reproduction and for general release.
In short it means that core development is complete. Efforts then shift to maintain (patches, bug fixes etc) and if part of the publishers plan post release development and support for things like DLC (though none has been announced for this title).ID: gs6rtbn
Yeah, that makes senseID: gs6pj8d
It means that the game is complete and they can start pressing discs to prepare to them to stores.ID: gs6u887
Not when your cyberpunk 2077
I might check this out, it looked interesting at the initial reveal. Although I kept mixing it up with Deathloop, because frankly their names could easily be swapped.
I'm willing to bet this will be a 7 out of 10. Just got this feeling it won't be great, if this was not the launch year it wouldn't be getting much attention imo.
Hope im wrong thoughID: gs83ct5
Its housemarque, their games have yet to dissapoint even if they usually fly under the radarID: gs83llw
I loved Dead Nation and holing this is a hit but I think the full price tag won't do it any favours
For $70 (or $120 in Australia...FFS) this had better be 6 or 7 times better than Risk of Rain 2...not bloody likely.
I had absolute zero interest on this at reveal but after learning what type of game it's going to be, I am down for this and looking forward to checking it out at some point.
Lets not forget the story of cyberpunk the unwise.
Gold means nothing
