Well, as long as they do right I would hope they take the time they need. I am looking forward to this game and maybe my co-op buddy will have a PS5 by then.
ID: gs95bj2I think/hope that this will be the attitude going forward for at least a little while, both from gamers and developers alike. You guys take all the time you need to make a good game, we’re happy to wait as long as that takes.
TRS are the reason Left4Dead is a thing. I trust them to do this. I realize that I’m in the minority of having a blast with EVOLVE, but I think it’s because the game didn’t start to get really “good” until the exodus of people leaving it happened (so everyone that was left knew how to play the game... and it wasn’t a game where you could carry a weak teammate. You needed a full cooperating, coordinating, and communicating team or you were better off being the monster). I bring it up, because TRS proved their commitment to supporting the game right up until 2K physically prevented them from doing it anymore. (Fuck 2K)
Ok controversial statement behind me (phew). I didn’t get to play the B4B beta, but I understand that it had the makings of a decent game with some (fixable) problems ahead of it. That they’re taking the time to do so, over racing to meet a release date, is the right step here. I hope that the game comes together and look forward to getting shot in the back by my friends while they leave me bleeding out as a distraction for their escape.

man the only thing I can think of that we are getting this year is re8 and ratchet n clank. it seems like every game keeps getting delayed, its a bummer.

ID: gs7j14uIt really sucks to see how many people are sleeping on it. Then again innovative AAA games dont tend to be the best sellers. Add to it thats a Roguelite with gameplay similar to doom which means its gonna be hard as shit and its not that odd that its not grabbing the casual adience as much as the average open world AAA genre does. Still hope its finds it niche and has enough sales to be considered a succes and spawn even more content/sequels if not other similar games much like souls games influenced souls likes.

ID: gs7pe9jIdk what everyone expected. Covid was and is a pretty big deal that disrupted a lot of operations across many industries.
If anything, I'd be wary of games that don't get delayed.

Fuck sake man. Any time I see an initial release date from now on, I'm going to expect the game to come out 3 months + later because the last 5 games or so I've looked forward to, every single one has been delayed at least one time.
Edit: At least we're getting an open beta in the Summer so that's nice. Hopefully it's across all platforms not just PC.

On the other hand, hopefully this will give them enough time to rework a lot compared to the alpha, it didn't look that convincing there

Ok, guess I'll be keeping killingfloor 2 installed for a bit longer.
B4B success seems dependant on an active community. A good day one launch seems very important for laying that foundation and they should take as much time needed to ensure that happens. I'm looking forward to this game!

I was surprised they announced it at The Game Awards and then said it was coming out in Late Spring/Early Summer. Seemed fast then.

I'm okay with this. The only game I wouldn't be okay with getting delayed is Village. I would lose my mind. These next six weeks are gonna be so slow 🙁

This sucks for people who were excited for it, but... June was looking to be a super competitive month. A bunch of games were either releasing their or got pushed back to that month. It’s probably better for them that it’s a bit further back.

Could kill the game for me. I wasn't a huge L4D fan (too linear and repetitive for my taste) but I do love co-op shooters and had some interest in B4B (guessing it'd be bigger and better than L4D)... But going up against the holiday big boys (new modern Battlefield etc) I'm not sure it'll get the attention it would have gotten in June... I guess being early Oct it might get a few weeks in action.
Edit- Looks like some overly sensitive mouth-breathers were hurt by my purely subjective opinion.

Next gen should’ve been delayed til 2022. This shit is stupid. I know it’s good for it to be happening but there was a ton of hype built up for so many games this year, and one by one they all get delayed. I’m glad the industry seems to be getting its shit together but the constant disappointment is such a drag.

They are likely looking at what happened with Evolve and trying to recognize issues with the next game and fix them before release. Recreating the magic of L4D isn’t going to be easy.

This kinda game needs polish more than most. Online has to be tight and you can't have one person glitch out and ruin the mission for the other 3.

This was a safety net party game for the summer. Looks like it's back to single-player games for me.
