Worth pointing out from the wccftech interview:

- 3 modes: 4k mode, Ray Tracing Mode and 60 FPS mode

- Dynamic events like RDR2

- Should work well on old-gen (yeah, lmao, we'll see)

- Built with new engine, C-Engine

- Map 4 times bigger, more vertical, but filled with side quests, challenges etc.

- Still heavily structured around RPG choices

- New audio system, interactive music

- No date for future trailers or gameplays, I got the impression that they really do not want DL2 to become next disaster like Cyberpunk

Different modes are nice, also a bigger map. Guess we’ll see how good it is once some real gameplay drops

ID: gt1ly3t

I hope 60fps mode isnt too graphically downgraded from the other modes. Id be happy with 1440p 60fps, High settings. Its cool they put in different options, but id wager alot of players will be on the 60fps mode, given the fact Dying Light is a fast paced first person game with alot of movement. The original game made me somewhat nautious at times with the unstable and low framerate

ID: gt1y9uo

Dynamic 4k probably. I can't tell the difference honestly. 1440p 60fps is the sweet spot for me.

ID: gt22qi0

Asset quality is more Important then resolution in my opinion. You can play original ff7 from 97' in 4k but asset quality is still ps1. It can be 1440p but high quality assets.

ID: gt2hbld

I'm guessing Dynamic 4K, which is always fine with me. I dont have the eyes to tell the difference I guess lol.

ID: gt2izmg

Should work well on old-gen (yeah, lmao, we'll see)

I remember when they said they would try to deliver 4K 60fps on Pro and One X a few years ago. It may have been miscommunication and they meant both separately but I still doubt even that on those consoles.

ID: gt20wmq

The last time a Polish developer compared their game in any way to RDR2 and was positive about old-gen performance... we got Cyberpunk 2077, going to keep my eyes on them, especially after the development hell they had for ~2 years.

"More Vertical"

Great, 100's of rooms and hallways that all look the same. Anyone else getting an Avengers vibe there? We don't want more vertical, give us diverse outside environments.

ID: gt1ylkn

Great, 100's of rooms and hallways that all look the same.

Just like real life!

ID: gt261uc

We don't want more vertical, give us diverse outside environments.

Who "we"?

Anyway, that aside, why do you assume "more vertical" can't mean "diverse outside environments"? 90% of Breath of the Wild is outdoors with lots of verticality.

ID: gt21zju

As long as every room is a different color it should be GOTY /s

ID: gt2d31g

Love me some verticality in a game like this. Figuring out how climb on to the top of things and finding collectibles/loot is always so satisfying.

Dying Light 1 had some of the best parkour in any game

ID: gt36bq2

Kind of a low bar honestly. Having any parkour (not just normal climbing) in a game is pretty rare. You have AC, which I'd say this is better than the more recent ones, Mirror's Edge which no, ME and ME:C both wipe the floor with Dying Light... and what else?

4 : Anonymous2021/04/01 16:35 ID: gt1pjam

is co-op still a thing?

ID: gt2b02h

The open co-op in DL, Dead Island, etc. was magical. I'll take more of that.

ID: gt2248w

I really hope so.

5 : Anonymous2021/04/01 16:31 ID: gt1oxy3

Man, I loved the first one soo much. Might do another play through when my ps5 arrives .

ID: gt2r7zr

I’ve actually been thinking about buying it again, this time on my PS5.

I own it for my Xbox One, but man... that game I’m sure would play fantastic on the PS5.

ID: gt3grr2

It doesn't run better on a PS5. They never patched it for PS4Pro or X1x. It still has a pretty rough frame rate on both new consoles unfortunately..

ID: gt2m0ww

Is the story really that bad that some say? Also did you play solo?

ID: gt2nlar

I had no idea the story was bad until the Internet told me it was. Honestly, it's a first person parkour zombie game. No story was ruining that for me.

The excitement and sheer terror I felt doing my first night run was something I hadn't experienced in YEARS. Great aesthetic, solid music, lots to explore, funny characters, and it's not just mowing down hordes all hack and slashy like Dead Rising, cool weapon crafting, I remember the scenery being stunning. The parlour was tight and satisfying.

I only played solo and on hard so everything felt like it had consequences.

Also there's a fun app/game for your phone that's syncs so you can gather resources while you're not playing.

I was truly hooked. And 100% recommend it.

The expansions were solid as well.

ID: gt2rq3a

It’s super corny. Especially the writing. I wouldn’t say the main story beats are bad though. Mostly the beginning with the whole agent thing and climbing to certain locations to make phone calls. Your dudes lines are just super cheesy.

Honestly the second half is pretty decent.

ID: gt1ziwa

Too bad it runs awful on it

ID: gt217ap

As in, worse than the original? I'm not expecting it to be optimised but I can't see it being worse.

6 : Anonymous2021/04/01 16:36 ID: gt1pnfe

I'm still super hyped for this game. Don't care about the naysayers and doom and gloom. I'll hold out hope until I see a reason to not be hyped.

ID: gt2bbnh

DL and the Following were so much fun, it's difficult not to be excited.

ID: gt2bwij

I'm more worried about actual game design choices. I don't like how much they've prioritized human encounters versus how it was in the first game with zombies everywhere. Having zombies everywhere was a big reason the parkour was enjoyable - it gave real meaning for the mechanics.

ID: gt20m8t

I'm really looking forward to it but I'm also just cautiously optimistic, we will see!

7 : Anonymous2021/04/01 19:52 ID: gt2feno

I want game stories to run for 20 hours or less honestly. I like games that I can put 60 hours into when I play through all side missions and events but 40 hour stories feel exhausting sometimes. I’ve got a growing list of games that I just stopped playing because I got burnt out on them after around 30 hours of the story.

ID: gt330o0

Days gone for me is the perfect example.

It’s such a good game but I honestly just can’t finish it.

ID: gt3gn3n

yeah i found that game WAAAAAAY longer than it needed to be. so much so that once i finished it, i never played it again.

ID: gt2vm80

Yeah. Depending on the game, 20-30 is perfect. Can’t stand it how the new AC games are like 50 hr minimum investments

8 : Anonymous2021/04/01 15:55 ID: gt1k4cu

So basically Cyberpunks time. I played 60hrs and i only have 3 trophies left to platinum.

ID: gt2aq8l

Its always funny to see how different people play.

My time was 105 hours at the end and probably no where close to a platinum(I dont do trophies so I have no clue but also since not looking at a list probably nowhere close).

ID: gt2cc5m

140 here doubt i m half way to a platinum ....

9 : Anonymous2021/04/01 18:13 ID: gt22ruw

I'm done with the hype train.

10 : Anonymous2021/04/01 18:18 ID: gt23c51

sounds real good !

11 : Anonymous2021/04/01 18:58 ID: gt28i1t

Seems like a pretty reasonable length, especially if there's a good amount of replayability to it.

12 : Anonymous2021/04/01 20:42 ID: gt2lwa1

How long is it if I walk?

13 : Anonymous2021/04/01 15:48 ID: gt1j7r1

There's still plenty of time to rewrite the entire game

14 : Anonymous2021/04/01 17:30 ID: gt1wwdi

When’s this out? Can’t wait. Loved the first

ID: gt1xht9

Next month

ID: gt1yi4y

Wait really?

ID: gt20yx6

Targeting this year, nothing specific.

15 : Anonymous2021/04/01 19:25 ID: gt2bvk8

This is good. I never finished the first one. It felt way too long. I think I left off at 60 hours and only got around 30%.

Recently restarted the game since it’s been a few years and hoping to pick up the expansion. I just wanna focus on main missions this time around.

ID: gt37hro

How much stuff did you do because I beat the first one with side quests in 25-30 hours.

16 : Anonymous2021/04/01 20:48 ID: gt2mows

I don't understand what the hell is taking so long.

18 : Anonymous2021/04/02 00:16 ID: gt3axhq

I'm afraid that we won't get anything close to what the very fabricated gameplay demo showed us. I am hopeful that the game will be better than the first game, which will already make it a great game and easily worth the buy.

19 : Anonymous2021/04/01 16:39 ID: gt1q2bi

Good. This is the perfect length for games.

20 : Anonymous2021/04/01 18:01 ID: gt2177g

im down to take my time and make it even longer .

21 : Anonymous2021/04/01 20:25 ID: gt2jq9x

22 : Anonymous2021/04/01 21:40 ID: gt2t9x7

They can't just ignore 165m+ total console sales. Games will keep releasing on last gen until new ones are satured enough.

23 : Anonymous2021/04/01 20:52 ID: gt2n9dy

Good tbh.

Don't need it to be overloaded with filler like AC Valhalla (although that game is actually great)

Just focus on the important bits you can add more content in the future

24 : Anonymous2021/04/01 22:50 ID: gt31g50

Hope the sequel is as good as the first game, very underrated.
